The location is at Port 3 of Penghu. The sea view room has a great view of the port! Although it is outside the downtown area of Magong, the distance is not too far. It is the first choice to take a boat and jump on the island to play here, and there is a Pier3 duty-free shop in Shenghengchang nearby (similar to what the airport duty-free shop sells. People don't have to waste time, but the wines are much richer!!). The underground car park is managed so the seats are plentiful and clean. Both breakfast and dinner are buffet style, and the style is very rich and delicious (especially steak, which is much better than the food!), and there are many kinds of alcohol such as sake for dinner. Although it is only open until 21:00, There are no restrictions on meal times. There are many elevators in the hall. There are 4 elevators in the whole building, and 3 elevators in 5F~B2 opposite the counter. They are all very fast and hardly need to wait (except when checking out). The room is very clean, the decoration is stylish and good-looking, and the internal and external equipment is well maintained (except for the rusted machine at the parking entrance and exit), which is rare for a hotel near the sea. Before check in, the air conditioners have been turned on and ventilated, and there is no strange smell. The bed was super comfortable! The balcony has tables and chairs to sit on and is clean. The TV is only the normal channels of MOD (although there should be no time to watch TV in a hotel when you come to Penghu).*The only fly in the ointment is that the shower in the bath is the one with the bathtub. There is no wet and dry separation from the toilet, only the shower curtain is separated from the water, so the floor will be very wet every time you take a shower! And the towels were all on the shelf on the other wall opposite the shower head, and the towels would get wet accidentally. In addition, the switch of the toilet faucet is on the base plane, so after the soap is washed, the hand-held water faucet switch is used to rinse the foam, and the water will flow to the ground along the washstand. If you accidentally step on it, you will be alone when you check in Just gave a pair of slippers...
Read morePros: -Great breakfast selections. The buffet was well managed and lots of delicious options. -housekeeping service was fast and professional, for the most part. We requested extra comforters because it happened to be during the cold draft and quite cold. The staff came quickly and was very nice. -amenities inside the room were plentiful, from tea bags to canned drinks inside the fridge were all free. Housekeeping staff kept them stocked during our 2 night stay. -warm toilet seats and meji toilet -free parking
Cons: -THE AC IS CENTRAL AIR AND NEVER GOT WARMER THAN 22C. We tried to let the front desk know and they sent a staff member up, and was informed we needed to keep the temperature within 4 degrees of 22c for the ac to work. However that wasn't the case. We set the thermostat to 25c the whole time and still it remained 22c in the room during our entire stay. Mind you it's during during one of the coldest sudden cold draft of the decade. We had to bundle up with double comforters and 2 layers of sweater to stay warm in the room. The warmest room is the bathroom lol. -interior design is not user friendly. The bath room door is big and heavy, and for some reason opens into the restroom, further diminishing the square footage of the restroom. Also why is one of the wall of restroom translucent? When someone uses the restroom at night and turns on the rest room light, the entire bedroom is also lit because of light bleeding through the translucent wall. Not the best configuration. The towel racks are lacking as well. When you want to wipe your hand after using the sink, you have to step into the shower area to access the towels on the rack. -lighting in the room is not too bright. Lack of reading light. -sewage smell in the parking basement.
Overall thoughts : Hotel is clean and overall friendly and professional service. Public restrooms are clean and grand. However some questionable interior design decisions and central air were not really 5 star qualities. You will probably get better bang for the buck at the Discovery hotel just...
