We stayed at the JIngan Classic Inn for 5 days. The reception was friendly and professional. We were lucky to get one of the larger rooms. There are only 5-6 rooms per floor. Rooms ending in 01 are the largest on the floor. We had room 1001 (top floor). ||||The rooms were clean (carpet should be replaced though). The beds were super comfy & clean; probably one of the best hotel beds I've ever slept in! The shower was modern and worked really well. The room also had a mini-fridge, coffeemaker, and hairdryer (standard crappy hotel type dryer), a HDTV and DVD player, and free Wi-fi. Our large room also had a Jacuzzi. ||||Breakfast was Taiwanese food. I sampled some of it but I wasn't a big fan of it (that's not a complaint - I'm in Taiwan). The Asian guests seemed to like it so I'm sure the quality was good. They also had toast and croissants. Bring a knife. For whatever reason they have forks and large spoons but no knives. We ended up using the fork handle as a knife. It was quite funny actually. The cafe latte out of the machine was very good. ||||The hotel location was perfect for us. It was a short walk to the subway. On the way to the subway is a 7-11 convenience store which was open all night. We could pickup some chips and beer, and other snacks on our way back to the hotel.||||The only complaint I would have is that the toilet didn't flush. You had to flush, wait a minute, then flush again, and then flush a third time. In all I would stay at Jingan Classic Inn again if I would go...
Read morePros: Good price and good location. It is within walking distance (about 3 min) to the closest metro station giving access to the greater Taipei area. It is also pretty clean - I’d say about 7.5 out of 10. The staff seem to be nice, also. The internet (wired and wireless) is fast. In the deluxe room, there is a nice jacuzzi tub with TV. The bed is large and comfortable. The room is large and has a mini fridge and electric tea kettle with complimentary tea and bottled water. A boxed breakfast is available for free (as of February 2022). Cons: The thermostat doesn’t seem to work. Although there is a setting for heat, no heat comes from the vent. This is a common problem in Taipei, as most hotels here are not heated. The TVs are outdated and seem to be LCD models from the late noughties. The TV in my bathroom didn’t seem to work, but that wasn’t a big deal. The key card system for the door is also outdated and uses a magnetic strip that must be inserted one way. The water pressure in the shower wasn’t quite enough for the rainfall showerhead. (Ironically, the water pressure in the bathtub was quite good.) All in all, I would stay here again given the price point...
Read moreI stayed here with my family for 4 days and had a nasty encounter with the manager of the hotel who yelled at my family. On the first day of our stay, we left our car in the front parking area for a brief while when we went to eat dinner nearby. When we came back to retrieve our bags from the car the manager came outside and yelled at us that the car was not supposed to be left there and that we were being extremely irresponsible and lacked basic manners. My daughter is the only one that speaks Chinese so she tried to explain to him that it was our first day there and we obviously didn’t know, but he wouldn’t let her speak and continued to berate us. He then left without a word and didn’t speak to us for the rest of our stay. But the other employees, especially Tom, were generally helpful and friendly. Overall, I have never met such a rude employee in my travels and I am appalled by his disgusting behaviour. I do not recommend staying...
