Dream Forest Resort — Hotel in Renai Township

We booked a family room with a balcony during May, the rooms are indeed spacious and we had 4 adults and a baby. The B&B is perched on top on a single lane road that leads to some decent views (depending on the room), however be careful of oncoming cars due to the tightness of the lane.

The setup in the room is dated, especially the bathroom which was moldy and extremely dangerous when wet. Suggestion for the hotel to install shower curtains as well as to secure the bath tub to the floor (a tad insecure with a rocking bathtub while showering). For the price of the rooms on the weekend, it was ~US$205/night, I would expect to have some better safety standards put into place.

We had booked our trip through Agoda which accepts credit cards, nonetheless when we checked in, they insisted they only take cash. A little dumbfounded, I requested to pay later while I speak to the Agoda, after some back and forth and a few emails by the agent, the front desk agent reluctantly removes the cover of the CC machine, all hidden in plain sight. I would recommend the hotel to be a little forthcoming with payment methods especially with online agencies, an advance note to alert that this is a cash only property and not to skirt the facts when its clearly shown on booking...

We book the hehuanshan tour for NT400/pax for 2 pax. But we missed the tour and they refuse to refund the money. The hotel provide morning call at 3.45am and the staff say they did call but the line cannot get through and FULL STOP. We did not receive any call and later part we found that phone cable was not plug in as we believe is the cleaning aunt never do the checking before we check in. The hotel staff say the driver inform them that he did come and knock our door but do you believe as we dont even hear and the night shift staff nvr mention too? But the driver told us another story say he waiting for 10min and he went off. I know this is our responsible to wake up too but what is hotel responsible?? What is morning call for?? They just earn commission for nothing?? Our room phone nvr plug in, is our responsible? They are very irresponsible!!! Went on a family holiday together with another family so this was picked by my friend for tea location n space .. Indeed good indoor space but only basic standard interior to expect .. Bathtub seems retro but not quite feasible, we had a hard time stepping in for a quick standing shower in the month of winter!! There was a step out balcony but we didn't even bother to open cos there was hardly any view to look out unlike our previous stay at another mingshu .. That was definitely a downside to us .. The only worth mentioning was the steamboat dinner that comes with it was awesome n overwhelming indeed, thus was worth appraising .. View outside the hotel was however awesome with the locality ..
