湯瀨溫泉SPA — Hotel in Taipei

We read quite a few negative reviews for this place, so we came with low expectations. The place is good. We liked it.

We cycled (e-bike) here. The climb was quite strenuous as we approached Xinyi hot springs district.

We paid NT200 per entry for the open air community pool. Men and women separated- nude spa. Bring your own towel. They provide shampoo and shower gel and hair dryer.

The establishment is dated but it’s clean. This is not a 5* establishment, so don’t expect luxury.

As you enter the women spa, you’ll be provided a key to a small locker for your valuables. Remove your clothes, bring your towel and bottle water with you to the pool area. There’s a 43C pool - perfect temperature for a good relaxing hot bath.

There’s a cold pool around 10-15C. Soak in the hot pool for 10-15 mins , then go dip in the cold pool - Cold Therapy perfect for tired muscles. Repeat the cycle for about 45 mins . Drink some water each time you complete a cycle. Keep hydrated.

Many grannies frequent this hot sulfur spring bath house. They are tan and seem part of the mountain. Atmosphere is always calm and restorative.

The main soaking room is open air - you can breathe in mountain air and enjoy views of mountain tops and valleys. Main room also contains a HOT steam room, a cold plunging pool, and a water massage room where gushing water beats down and does away with muscle tension.

The massage room inside women’s locker room has massages for various prices. Icy cold water bottle filling station also in locker room. A shady quiet courtyard with cafe tables to eat your snacks. Entrance fee is lower than most others. A golden shiba inu is behind the counter sometimes. You get a key and locker big enough for a large backpack, clothing, and shoes. Parking lot. I took the bus which is easy to catch and a 5 min walk to entrance. Sometimes local snack vendors sell items near the bus stop.

A nice smallish spa simple but functional. Used to be my favorite until recently, for whatever reason the water has not been hot enough so you're just soaking in luke warm water, not very pleasing. Until they get this sorted out I'd go to another spa nearby.
