漁村觀海Villa — Hotel in Xiaoliuqiu

First things first: If you are not a Chinese speaker, or you do not have a Chinese speaker among your group, you will find it very difficult, if not impossible, to get around Xiaoliuqiu island. Very few people on the island (and no one at Fish Villa) speak English. As I had a Taiwanese person with me, I had a fantastic stay.||||Fish villa offers clean and comfortable rooms, with views that are worth 10 times what they charge. We had a room on the top floor with a full view of the beautiful, blue ocean as well as the surrounding township. The rooms are modern, spotlessly clean, and well maintained. There is also a pool and dining room where they serve breakfast and dinner. Note that the rooms are not wheelchair accessible.||||Part of the package we selected also included snorkeling with turtles (extra charge), and a nature tour in the shallows outside the villa (free of charge).||||Fish Villa is located a few minutes drive outside the main settlement, and so a scooter is required to get there. A scooter is also a great idea to explore the wider island.||||As long as you can communicate, a stay at Fish Villa is nothing...

Wonderful bed and breakfast. We stayed for one night in Room 202. It is beautifully designed and clean, well-equipped. The view from the balcony is amazing. I can just stay there for hours staring at the ocean and the pool. You can watch the sunrise directly from the balcony as well which I did. You will forget how sleepy you are when you open the door to the balcony and see that gorgeous blend of colours before you. Everyone was discreet and the building was quiet after 10pm so you can really hear the sound of nature - the ocean waves, the birds, the insects. It's a wonderful experience to fall asleep to the sound of waves splashing against the rocks. The infinity pool is the highlight of the bed and breakfast. I was lucky to have the whole pool to myself in the morning and spent the hour marveling at the wonderful view before me. The staff were all very nice and helpful. We enjoyed the little tour of the intertidal zone a lot. The guide showed us different kind of organisms and allowed us to hold and touch them. It was an interesting experience. If I visit Xiaoliuqiu in the future I'll definitely...
