We chose the hotel for a brief one-night stay at Yilan because we've had great experience with Lakeshore properties, and that it offered an eco-friendly plan which forgoes all single-use plastic. However, we were very disappointed to find out that the so-called eco-friendly plan is nothing more than greenwash. ||||The room was only stocked with a bath towel for each traveler. I asked the front desk about face or hand towels, but the front desk staff declined providing them, saying that the eco-friendly plan does not include those. The front desk staff also suggested us using the provided facial tissues to wipe our faces and hands. When I pointed the obvious wastefulness, the staff mentioned that they are happy to provide more facial tissues if we ran out, just no face nor hand towels.||||The hotel also doesn't really seem to care about reducing plastics. Our room was stocked with lots of bottled water, as well as small cans of soda. This is despite that there is a filling station at every floor. At checkout, I mentioned the hypocrisy to the front desk manager. Her thanked me for the suggestion, and asked me if I want to take a few bottled water for the road.||||Other than the greenwash, the hotel met our needs. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and despite being a family-friendly hotel, it was very quiet in the room (could also due to the lower occupancy). The major downsides are that the property is very far from basically everything (restaurants, train stations, bus terminals, and tourist spots) in Yilan. The Wi-Fi was also unencrypted.||||I would probably stay again if the need arises, but I would make sure I book a room with enough towels so I don't have to waste two boxes of...
Read moreThe level of service rendered at this hotel is truly exceptional. I have not experienced anything as excellent throughout my interstate travels in Taiwan this year (Jan 2024).
The minute our private van pulled up at the drop-off point, there was a lady "bellboy" who offered to take all 5-7 pieces of our baggage via the trolley. At the check-in counter, another lady staff asked if our driver needed a car park ticket and kindly explained all the details of our room in a clear and calm manner.
When we went up to the rooms, the same "bellboy" lady asked if we needed a bed rail (after seeing my toddler lying on the bed). Within 5 minutes, another male staff comes to set up the bed rail within mere seconds! It was truly impressive.
It's these small things which the staff are so attentive to, that makes the stay here truly exceptional.
Location wise, the hotel is honestly a bit remote with nothing much nearby if you do not have a car.
The hotel is very popular with local Taiwanese travellers. Even the buffet breakfast seems catered for their locals instead of international travellers.
There's also a children's play area upstairs that is very suitable for toddlers.
I would definitely recommend this hotel in a heartbeat for anyone traveling to...
Read moreRelatively new, very clean and reasonably priced hotel. Breakfast buffet was fantastic, food was great quality and very tasty. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel seems to be family focused which is good but I would suggest they need to do more for guests that are not traveling with families. The "bubble ground" on the roof is cute but adding a bar or lounge to the area would make it great. The hotel is a little isolated, no restaurants or anything to do within walking distance so having something to do on the property would have been nice. My girlfriend and I had to drive to a Family Mart to grab a couple of beers to take to our room. We definitely would have rather gone to a bar on the property to relax. Also was kind of surprised there is no place to buy snacks, souvenirs or sundries. Especially with all the families, I'm sure people forget stuff and would not want to drive into town to get it. They had some really cute mugs in the room I would have loved to buy but I couldn't. So overall, my feelings about this hotel are mixed. I enjoyed it but I'm not sure I would stay here again. There are a lot of missed opportunities for the hotel to both appeal to more people and...
