Twiga Campsite and Lodge is situated in the vibrant village of Mto wa Mbu, approximately 1.5–2.5 hours by road from Arusha and 5 km from Lake Manyara National Park’s entrance gate . Its strategic position along the Northern Safari Circuit makes it a popular stopover for travelers en route to Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara Budget-friendly options include pitching your own tent, renting tents , or using a camper van. Shared facilities (toilets, outdoor bathrooms) are available . Lodge Rooms with modern amenities like AC, WiFi, en-suite bathrooms (hot/cold showers), mosquito nets, and private

This was a great campsite, with really nice toilets, showers, and sinks spread out, a nice covered eating area, and nice area for tents. I unfortunately did not visit the pool. There is a small shop right outside the gates if you need to buy soap, towels, snacks, wine, etc. the only issue is the camp is on a busy road with homes across the street so it can get quite load at night.

The Twiga Campsite waw okay but on the whole trip tge worst one. Advantages: - Calm - Close to Manyara National Park - Lodge & camp combined which is great for mixed groups - Friendly employees Disadvantages: - Floor was dirty - Warm water is not as warm as you would expect warm water - Tiny and dark room

I have to say that I can't seem to find a price per night for this place anywhere, including asking for 2 days straight at reception in person. I stayed here last night and will have to stay again tonight, because it was booked by my safari. If I had paid less than $45/night here, I would have just put up with it and wouldn't have written a review, but I paid an extra $190!!! per night to have a nice lodge for a very special stay - and on a ridiculously small travel budget, I blew most of it for my safari lodging. ||||For the price I paid, I was very very disappointed - but I'm thinking mostly with my safari booker, because I have a feeling this place is way cheaper than what I paid. ||||I had a room with 2 bed, which were hard and meh, though it's Africa and I don't expect 5 star beds. The bathroom wasn't clean. The sink was dirty. The shower curtain was moldy. There was NO HOT WATER at all. The back of the toilet was covered in pubic hairs, and the wifi *for the "luxury rooms" does not work in the rooms - at all. Reception says it's just a bit slower, but this is false. It doesn't not work at all, and I would only get the message to move closer to even try to connect. The food was meh. There was a pool, but after seeing how they cleaned the bathrooms, there's no way I would use it. I also had to pay for water at every meal, even though the meals were supposed to be paid for. Suffice to say, I am extremely disappointed in my stay here, but until I can find out an actual price per night, I can't say if that disappointment should mostly be directed to my safari operator or 2 both the operator and the establishment. I hope if your safari operator books you here, you aren't paying $190 USD per...

I have stayed at Twiga Campsite more than 10 times, probably totaling almost 6 months altogether. We use it as a base for housing students from Michigan State University and sending them out to work on information technology projects in local schools around Mto wa Mbu, where we install computer labs, solar power systems, videoconferencing between school classrooms, etc. Staying at Twiga is wonderful, allowing the students to worry about their work, rather than spending time on daily cooking/cleaning/chores. We eat in the restaurant and have excellent food of our choice, The Twiga staff are just great people--friendly, helpful, and resourceful! We use their vehicles and drivers to buy our supplies, take us among the schools, and help us with our work. On Sundays, they guide us in the national parks, where they are excellent in showing us the most interesting sights. I couldn't give a stronger recommendation for a place to stay in Tanzania than Twiga! Try...
