There is no way that this hotel should be under the Marriott brand in any shape or form. It looks and feels and smells as though nothing has been invested in its fundamentals for the last 25 years at least. The general manager who tried to patch things up may or may not have decision-making power in budgeting and investments but everything here is done on the cheap. The pool is dirty. The bedding is old. The cleaning people mindlessly push mops around the floors but don’t pick up dead insects. Read moreI stayed for three days two nights (solo), and their service was amazing from the airport pick up driver Abbas really gave me a warm welcome to Tanzania and then Getrude Goodwill. She is a valuable asset to this hotel and to me. she really welcomed me to the hotel and to my room and the reception staff were truly wonderful. I communicated to Getrude from Whatsapp when I was in Malawi and she really was informative and she gave me all the details for whatever questions was asked so I was able to come fully prepared to Tanzania as it was my first time coming to Tanzania.
The entire staff were really really helpful and welcoming and they really give us a positive vibe of how Tanzania is and how their people are and how they treat us and they are amazing services. Read moreA most extraordinary hotel in Dar es Salaam. We stayed on two separate occasions and each time we were extremely pleased. The rooms are sparkling clean, spacious and comfortable. Both times we had fully a fully functional kitchen and a separate bedroom, plus a balcony to enjoy Dar’s sunshine. The bathroom was spacious and well stocked with amenities. The Club Room restaurant served up an amazing breakfast buffet with a wide variety of options. We also enjoyed a great lunch and delicious dinners. |However, the greatest asset of Protea Oyster Bay is its warm and attentive staff.
