I don't understand the negative reviews for the public campsites at Seronera. It's almost like people did not understand where they were going. Ngiri public campsite essentially is a kitchen area and a public washroom. That's it. There is no electricity in the camp apart from a solar power barely enough to power the kitchen lights and few sockets to charge your phone. The washroom is 30/50 metres away and you'll need a torch and your own toilet paper for that. The shower is only with cold water. The quality of the tent, sleeping bags, pillow etc has nothing to do with the camp itself as those are provided by your tour operator. The campsite is in the middle of Serengeti and wild animals do come close to the tents at night. I could hear lions roaring all night long at a distance of approximately 1.5 km. Best possible tip is DO NOT get out of the tent at night, so don't drink lots of water before sleeping so you won't need to go to toilet in the middle of the night. If you like to complain about all of this, then this trip is not for you. Either you spend $20k for luxury accommodations or go to see Euro Disney in Paris instead, maybe Africa is not for you.
