What a great find this was! A small property (only 3 units) right on the beach, at the Northern (quiet) end of Bwejuu, set in a beautiful garden where one can spend hours just taking in the scents and calming sound of the ocean. Everything is new, spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated with local accents, beautiful bathrooms, great comfy beds, ample space to lounge inside or out... it was really so much more than we anticipated. Such beauty, comfort and calm was only made so much better by the fantastic team which will take care of you while you are there: Suzy, Alfred and chef Moses are absolutely the best people we met during our time in Tanzania (which is no small feat considering ALL people in Tanzania are so friendly and nice!) Prior to and during our stay the communication with the owner was flawless as she is so willing to go the extra mile to ensure you have a great time - thank you Elena! We felt so good that we had absolutely no need to leave the property while we were there - other than for walks on the endless beach. The food and drinks (ah, those fresh juices and cocktails!) are sooo good - you must try them all and if there's anything else you might like they will do their best to accommodate you. Thank you all for making our stay so wonderful. If we ever come back, there's no other place we would rather be!

Just awesome. Amazing place, hidden in its own jungle directly at the beach. Palm trees provide great shadow. Never too hot as there’s always a nice breeze from the ocean. Alfred and his team made our stay unforgettable. Super kind, always there when you need them. Made the best breakfast (that avocado toast! 😍). Also lunch snd dinner were probably the best we had on Zanzibar. Can only recommend. When you book, just make sure you’re aware they have one tree house and two other apartments for up to 4 people. If you want the tree house, make sure you actually book the right one.

I booked KIMA beach house in January for a stay this September. I got in touch with the host to request a late checkout recently at which stage the host realised they had made an error with their booking system and had allowed someone else to book after me for the same dates.

As I had alerted the host to the issue, and the other group apparently had an infant, it was arbitrarily chosen that it is me who had to change my reservation just 2 weeks before departure, despite booking over 8 months ago and significantly before the other guests. A highly unprofessional operation whereby your booking confirmation is valueless as the host will happily refuse to honour it in favour of other guests who booked later.

The host did try to offer solution such as moving somewhere else for the overlapping night, or suggesting a more expensive and inferior option down the beach. However, the fact remains that bookings are made on a first come first served basis, if the host had not made an error no one else would have been able to book for my days and therefore this issue should unfortunately be there problem. The host agreed I was correct, but refused to change her mind and insisted that the other guests with an infant travelling from Europe (I am also travelling from Europe …) deserved their reservation instead of me, even though I had paid a deposit in January (8 months ago) significantly before them.

This has left me with just 2 weeks to rearrange my holiday plans, leading to increased expense and much less choice and nothing more than an apology. The worst part is, if it wasn’t for me asking for a late check out, the host would not have noticed and this issue would have occurred at the time. Overall an unprofessionally run business which makes up rules as it goes along and does not honour long standing bookings if it chooses not...

A beautiful place in paradise. We stayed 4 nights in the Coco Tree House and loved the amazing view, our accommodation, the great breakfast and food, and the very friendly and attentive staff. Also, the owner was very helpful with guidance via WhatsApp.

The rather quiet area is a huge plus. The beach is beautiful. In mornings or early evenings swimming in the sea is great (somewhen in the afternoon is low tide then). Only be aware that there are many broken glass pieces.

The only little minuses are higher prices for food/wine (50% more than comparable restaurants, but the food was really good). And we didn’t like the rather touristic spice tour we booked through the host (for 45 USD/person). We had hoped for a better...
