Paid $200 to come horseback riding here. After 3 different checkins with various staff members, we were told to wait near the horse stands. I walked maybe 15 feet away to take a pic of the (public) beach because tide was out and the water colors were beautiful. Within one minute I got harassed by a hotel manager saying the beach is private and I’m not allowed to be here. I told him I’m with Neptune and he said “oh really?? What’s your room number then?”. I pointed back at the horse stands and told him that I’m with the group literally a few feet away who paid to come here and ride horses and he just rolled his eyes and gestured for me to get off the beach anyway. Its funny because walking into the hotel I thought the pool/beachfront was nice and made a note to maybe stay here next time I visit. But if this is how they treat paying clients then I absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone. Wanted to note that he also got very uncomfortably close to me and almost felt like he was trying to grab at me a few times. I’m really glad I was close to my group and was able to run back to them quickly. Including the photo I took with my iPhone clearly not bothering anyone on the very empty public beach :)

Yoga, Sprachkurse, Volleyball usw.)

My partner and I stayed here for 10 days in late September.|On arrival we were greeted at reception with a drink and a much-needed hot towel after a very long flight.|From the moment we arrived everyone we met was friendly and welcoming.|Our luggage was taken to our room while we were checking in, during checking we were provided a map with all relevant information such as restaurant times and provided services. Once checked in we were taken by golf cart to our room, this was up a very steep hill but the golf cart service is complimentary.|The room was clean, tidy and spacious. It came with a large balcony which had 2 chairs and a table.|The room contained a large and comfy 4 posted bed with mosquito netting all around, a vanity table and large mirror, Side board with Tea and Coffee facilities, a mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks, a wardrobe with an ironing board, iron and umbrellas. The room also provided Towelling robes, Slippers, pool towels and a beach bag.|The bathroom was large, it has 2 sinks and a big shower with a waterfall head, the toilet was quite high for me (5’3) my feet dangled but it did what its meant to do. It also provided a shaving mirror, large mirror, powerful hairdryer and large towels.|Steps are available to go down the hill, each step has a low step down so it is not to hard on your knees or you can call reception for a golf cart.|Reception has a lovely fountain which is always decorated with fresh flowers and comes with friendly and welcoming staff.|The main pool with the pool bar has both deep and shallow sections and is very large. There is also another large pool with both deep and shallow sections, this is closer to the buffet and is significantly quieter. Both however are clean.|The buffet restaurant which can be used for Breakfast, lunch and dinner is a large area with plenty of helpful staff and lots of choice when it comes to food, the also offer the Italian as a place to go for lunch.|For dinner there are also 3 restaurants you can book, Italian, Indian and Thai, our favourite was the Indian but all are very good with a decent amount to choose from.|There is a gourmet which you can book and pay for, we did not attend this so can not comment.|Evening entertainment is also available, this is on the ‘stage’ area near the main buffet restaurant, this unfortunately goes on at the same time as dinner so you are not able to fully enjoy the show, I feel this would be better if, for example is started 1 hour after dinner begins, then people can chose to have dinner early but still catch the show.|The beach is a few steps from the pool, powdery white sand, there are plenty of sun loungers and if you cant find one in the spot you like then one of the very helpful beach attendants will be there to assist.|There is a wall to stop the waves and then the sea, beyond the wall you will find a few men and women selling tours, trinkets, clothes and so on, they are not harassing, and a simple no thank you if you aren’t interested is enough.|The sea is lovely a warm and the tide does go out quite a way, this allows you to walk on the multiple sandbanks and see the wildlife, just make sure you have sea shoes are there are Spiky sea urchins, the beach boys will help you navigate them and take you to some starfish, you can also tell them no if you are not interested.|The beach and pool has some very hard working waiters, one who I must mention is Msena, He found us on our first or second day, he took the time to get to know our names and remembered them the entire time we were there, he was quick, he remembered our orders and made good suggestions, you can see how hard he was working in hot temperatures, he really made our holiday that much more special, he really is a wonderful, hard working man and a credit to your company.|One thing you will take from this hotel is their level of customer service, it really is top tier and other hotels could take lessons from Neptune.|We like to tip for a job well done and I have been to places where it is clear what is being done is for the money or where staff hang around waiting, that is not the case here, While it may be part of their job to be friendly, it never felt forced, every Jambo Jambo felt true, Every smile felt meant.|These people are not just beautiful with their smile but with their true and humble soul. Yes you should absolutely tip the staff for their hard work, but it never seems like an expectation and they work hard no matter what. |They are all proud of their job, their company and their country and they should be, it is one place I would recommend to everyone! |I am so pleased I got to stay at this hotel, but they have set the bar so high that I so not think others will be able to live up to their standards. I was so sad to leave, not because of the beautiful surroundings, but because of the people!|Words to know:|Jambo Jambo = Hello|Asante = Thank you|Asante Sana = Thank you very much|Karibu = Your welcome.|Pole Pole = Slow down|Hakuna Matata = No worries.||Thank you to all the staff at Neptune Pwani, you made each day special and I wish all of you...

Definitely I don’t recommend this hotel. On the third day of our stay we were robbed. A thief got into our room, stole money, passports and all our electronic and electrical equipment. He or she emptied even our safebox. The room wasn’t plundered, the thief knew exactly where the things were. The door, windows and even the safebox didn’t bear the traces of intrusion. The above and our private investigation indicate that at least one of the hotel workers was involved. All incured losses exeed significantly the cost of a two-week holiday in this hotel. At the same time one more room was robbed. However the losses were much smaller as the thief was probably frightened by one of the hotel guests. The incident was immediately reported to the management of the hotel. Unfortunately we were left alone with our problem. In spite of an apparent fault from the hotel side we couldn’t count on any help or support from their side for three days. They even tried to hold us responsible for the theft by making up stories which often reached the point of absurdity. Presently we are accused of overstating our loss. Only after that time and under threat that we would inform the media about situation we were given about 45% of our loss back. However even here they tried to cover up the incident. The payment depended on our signing a document, which said that our things hadn’t been stolen but gone missing. I signed it as it was better to get 45% back than nothing. When we needed help, support or a good word or just empathy we met with reluctance, lies, arrogance and even aggression from the management of the hotel. Our room was changed into another one after our holiday rep’s intervention, as they were very surprised that we didn’t feel safe in a room to which the thief had keys. Both the hotel and the police were so commited to proving our guilt or lies that they didn’t catch the thief although he was given to them on a silver platter. For almost 24 hours after the theft I was able to track my equipment and I informed them about it many times. Instead of looking for a thief they preferred to search our room- there they were looking for stolen passports. However the best part happened just after coming back home. The manager of the hotel sent me a message in which among other things he claimed that the hotel security recorded my conversations with my wife. I don’t know if it’s the truth but if it is, I’d rather not think in what way, in what places and in what situations we were eavesdropped on. I’ll leave it to your imagination if all the hotel rooms are bugged or only chosen ones. In EU such a gambit would end tragically for them, in Africa as you may presume – free-for-all. After all even here to treat an aggrieved person as if s/he was a criminal by the company responsible for his/her safety is too much to take. If it is not enough now I’m going to write about the hotel itself. Some of the rooms smell of damp and you need to air them all the time. Food was very poor and repeated all the time. Lunchboxes were a joke- a chicken sandwich with bones, a dry muffin, a banana and small juice. A mediocre beach with about 50 beach boys so importunate that you would miss Egiptian sellers 15 years ago. Most of evening animations were good but way too loud. The service was nice, drinks ok, snacks were something like dry donuts which you can buy in a supermarket, massages of an avarage standard. Generally, I am person who tries not to remmeber what was wrong. Normally I would be glad to be safe and sound at home. We can recover from our losses and bounce back and maybe even laugh at our misfortunate adventure in the course of time. Nevertheless I have to admit that the case of eavesdropping on us while being alone, recording our conversation, our private matters or even intimate moments made my blood run cold. I’m not sure what to think of it or what to do with it. I warn you not to stay...
