We stayed in Panga Chumvi 10 days. ||โ€ขThe location: beautiful place - Beach is beautiful ( but you canโ€™t swim there , because of low tide and sea urchins, sea weeds..) so if you want to swim in Indian ocean every day- this hotel is not for you. But Beach is beautiful - palmtrees, White Sands. This is perfect . โ€”โ€”-The Beach Boys are A little bit annoying, there are no privacy in Beach at all. You Cant relax.. because every time Beach Boys and Massai are following you and asking something || There are no SHOPS OR SUPER MARKETS in this area so be prepared ( nearest super market was like 20min driving away with car!!) Next to this hotel there are cute local village Matemwe -it was so interesting to walk there .||โ€ข FOOD - the food was tasty, but very expensive . So if you want to eat cheaper - go to the Furaha local restaurant or Bob garden Swahili restaurant. (It is about 15min walk from hotel walking next to beach to the left side) ||โ€ข breakfast : -.... breakfast was so bad. There is no choice at all. Every moorning the same -egg(you can choose omlet, boiled egg, etc) ; panckakes; some fruits ; one type of juice; bread and coffee.. that was all. Every moorning the same . No meat at all!!! I was dissapointed . ||โ€ข ROOM- room was clean all the time. Thank you for good room service - every evening there come girls who are spraying mosquito spray. It is very important for travelers. Of course hotel are very old and i suggest you to do some updates /upgrades and then you can ask so much money for stay.. our stay was cheap so everything was great but there was people who stayed and paid 1200 dollars and more. Sad . ||And there are shampoo and shower gel but i suggest you to take your own because in hotel this thing was not in high quality. ||++There was no electricity or hot water problems. Everything was great . WiFi in room was medium, but for Africa that was ok. |++ there are Beach towels, kettle with tea &coffe . ||โ€ข POOL was so Nice.. water was always so warm and clean . Loved and enjoyed it . Thank you for ir ||Also the staff is friendly and manager was so helpful&nice...

Weโ€™ve stayed at Panga Chumvi in November 2020 for a week or so and itโ€™s been such a pleasant stay! First of all the location of the hotel is perfect, right at the beach !!! Our room was facing the ocean and we could see high and low tides directly from our bed ! Beds of this hotel deserve a separate praise , Iโ€™ve never slept so good anywhere in my entire life! They have bathrobes !!! Whole territory is very beautiful has sun and shadows and a swimming pool ! Hotel staff is so friendly and helpful! Manager of the hotel is a sweet man who can help you with anything and will always check on you in the morning and evening if you meet him, always smiles ! Restaurant staff is welcoming! Breakfasts are great, although Iโ€™d suggest to add one more main dish like pancakes or something, not just eggs :) but fruits and bread and drinks are great! And again while having breakfast youโ€™re enjoying the ocean view !||During low tides you can easily explore the alga farm and see all kinds of sea creatures! ||Fishermen offer to catch a very fresh fish or lobster and bring it cooked for you right to your hotel room (we had a lobster for just 10$) ||Anyways you just have to stay in there if youโ€™re coming to Zanzibar ! You wonโ€™t...

Going to stay in this place we had some mixed feelings, but in the end we liked almost everything.||The location of the hotel is very good. A little bit interfered by the constant tides (we used to swim long distances in the morning and evening), but you can get used to it. The manager Jamal seemed like a good person to ask for help, if need be.|| A kilometer from the hotel there is a village with a small store and market, where you can go to get local products. ||There are a few minuses, but it is not critical. The rooms do not have frigะตs and teapots. So forget about cold drinks (for whom it is important). And also about hot evening tea.||The prices in the local restaurant leave much to be desired, although the staff is very friendly. As an option, you can drop by a small cafe on the shore called Bakupenda with more democratic prices. The rest is fine.||PS do not forget to rent a small car as the public transport is...

We came for a few days but finally we prolonged our stay at about 15 more days! Staff members are wonderful and helpful, manager Mr Jamal is beyond the human limits helpful and accommodating. Mr Jamal was one of the basic reasons that we have stayed 15 days more! Mrs Zaina as well (staff's supervisor) helped us to any issue caused! The resort is in a magical garden full of tropic trees. Restaurant is great and the food is delicious, outstanding, amazing with pure products of local's nature. Congratulations to the people who prepare all these dishes and in general congratulations to all staff in Panga Chumvi. Panga Chumvi, after a few hours of our arrival, became our second home. Asante Sana!

It was beautifully serene. Faces the east so the sunrises are absolutely spectacular! The staff were very friendly and the resort offers a variety of activities, including a tour of Matemwe village. It is an eco friendly resort that uses solar powered water heaters (and the water is still hot if you want to shower at night). They separate their waste and do their own composting, and they use local resources and employ local people. The only downside was the lack of a fridge (I had nowhere to save my leftovers for later).

A budget resort that has all the basics covered. Clean well sized rooms, A/C and fans, warm water and a generator that ensures your cool even with frequent blackouts. Very good service from cheerful staff. A clean swimming pool with a baby pool. Best of all an awesome awesome beach. Restaurant is pricey though and no water is provided in the rooms.Seats on the patio were also uncomfortable.
