Romance Hotel Sukhumvit 97 — Hotel in Bang Chak Subdistrict

I will describe my experience briefly here....

Firstly Negative sides

1. Normally hotels provide early checkin depending on availability... But they charged me half day price just for 5 hours early checkin... Also 500 baht deposit required

2. Hotel is bit old, everything is old,the room fittings and other things...

3. AC outdoor unit is in the balcony , so you have to tolerate the sound

4. keyless entry doesn’t work for room lock,you need to use manual key

Also they provided only one card for room,which you must put it in the entry of room for electric connection

And you must have the card to use the elevator, so if your partner stays in the room, and you go out for something,when coming back, you cant use the elevator without card

You have to take help from other staffs, and everytime they are not available so have to wait....

5. electric cattle and cups are provided but no coffee or tea... So what will I do with those cups and cattle?

They have complementary coffee service in reception, so everytime if you want to have a coffee, you need to go to reception.

6. Location is far away from main city hub, 55 baht BTS metro fare to NANA area.....

Good sides :

1. staffs are nice,friendly.... Specially the old lady from dining.... She is very nice and humble

2. ac works, bathroom amenities were provided daily...

3. good options in breakfast... But not halal... You can try fish options.. Food tastes great.... If you ask them if its halal or not... They will say yeah we dont have pork...only chicken..... Not having pork doesnt make it halal....

4. great Swimming pool, I booked this hotel only for this reason.... In night time you will have wonderful time with Bangkok...

Pros: The hotel is conveniently located, just a short walk from the BTS, making it very easy to access. I arrived earlier than the posted check-in time and was offered the option to check in early in exchange for a 5-star Google review. My room met all expectations and was equipped with everything as advertised, providing a fairly comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Cons: Unfortunately, there were a few issues that affected my experience. The lock on the sliding balcony door was broken, and despite notifying reception within an hour of checking in, it wasn’t fixed during my 4-night stay. I was informed that repairs couldn’t be completed until the following day, but the issue was still unresolved when I checked out. Additionally, one of the main reasons I chose this hotel was due to the gym facilities, which looked excellent in the online photos. However, I encountered several problems during my stay: the air conditioning in the gym wasn’t functioning properly, making it uncomfortably hot, and about 50% of the equipment was out of order, with signs indicating that parts were on the way but had not yet arrived. Final Thoughts: While the hotel had many positive aspects, the unresolved maintenance issues were disappointing. This is one of the worst hotels in entire vacation life. Starting from start. Even after having rooms vaccant they charge you for half day fare as early check in. And if you want to check in 1 hr before you can do it by giving them 5 ⭐ review as asked by staff. There are staff who have only one answer for all the questions that is "No". Even after paying the deposit money they asked us to submit the passports till the time we check out. We denied as we are foreign tourists. Overall the staff was not at all cooperative and understanding. Talking of breakfast which was mentioned as continental only we found is Thai and that too worst quality. No intercoms in the rooms no one came to clean.The key card gets blocked everytime because all they need is Money first then they will open the rooms.Anna is completely dumb and keep on arguing for money and other things. For the simplest things we have to explain many times then only they understand. They had more than 200 rooms but only 5-10 rooms were occupied. The only thing good in the hotel is infinity pool which is all we used for 10 minutes. All the reviews here in Google , Booking,Agoda are asked by the customer forcefully to make them good hotel. Do not consider .stay away...
