The Loft Seaside hotel is, as the name suggests, on a pier directly overlooking the beach. There are several restaurants around and a short boardwalk for guests to enjoy. My room had a balcony too, right over the water.||||The two girls at reception were helpful and check-in was efficient. As usual I had prepaid, which eliminates any surprises on arrival at a particular property. It was a good thing I did as I was asked for a THB 500.00 room key deposit and then discovered that the hotel does not accept credit or debit cards, only cash! Wow! It is backward in this day and age not to accept credit cards. Foreign guests do not always have local currency on hand.||||The hotel seems to accommodate quite a few young people, which means that it is vibrant.||||A nice touch would have been to activate the air-conditioner before I checked in as the room was like a sauna and it took quite a while for the temperature to drop sufficiently to be comfortable.||||I found the room rather dark. This was in part due to insufficient lights and partly because one ceiling light did not work. However, the room as clean and there were enough towels provided, so that is most important.||||The toilet had a Japanese-style electronic bidet which sprays, warms and does all manner of pleasurable things. Actually, I heard a lot of Japanese language spoken and there is a Japanese college next door, so there is clearly an influence. ||||A small fridge in the room contained four complimentary bottles of mineral water, which is a pleasant touch, especially in such a hot and humid environment. What would have been nice too, is a box of tissues. None were supplied.||||There is free unsecure internet in the room, but speedy it is not. It can take up to 5-minutes to open a single e-mail. Pathetic! To make matters worse, it kept stopping altogether and would take up to 20-minutes to come back again, but never at a faster speed. Frustrating! I would rather pay and get a service that I can use.||||I arrived late at night, so did not drag myself out of bed early enough for breakfast (05.30 to 10.00 hrs) and was glad to note that checkout was not...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for one night last October with my wife because of some booking blunder causing my wife's family to mistakenly putting an earlier check out date for us at Pacific Park Hotel nearby, and we couldn't amend it because Pacific was fully booked on that day.||||Well the good thing about this hotel would be the view. It's beach side position is a winner! Not to mention also the hotel rate is actually cheap (we've only paid roughly AUD43 for a sea view room), and the staff were friendly and quite helpful. I've also read elsewhere that foreigner might be charged a higher room rate by them, so it might be useful for you to have a local to help you to call the hotel first and find out what the rate is, and if you agree, come and check in.||||However, this hotel had seen its glory days. It's an old hotel with un-airconditioned lobby, relatively dark during the night, and with one old elevator. The grey floor carpet is old and run down, have musty smell, and we've seen two ladies manually swept the carpet with traditional spiky brooms. There was also one bloke who seems to loiter around the floor, which is quite concerning for us, but turns out he is actually painting the wall.||||The room that we originally got had a broken down air conditioner, so they gave us another room with a better aircon. Turns out also that the bathroom's exhaust system for the whole hotel does not work, so when you go to toilet, you better flush the toilet straight away once you've dropped your "bomb"! Oh yea, you'll also need to hold the flusher until it's completely flushed!||||I've also found one dead small cockroach in the bathroom, and the room's wooden floor is also not that clean, the big wardrobe is so old and smelly when you open it, also the overall room is a bit dusty (on the floor, bed etc).||Our breakfast on the next morning is also terrible. It wasn't a buffet breakfast and the food weren't seems to be fresh.||To sum it up, i wouldn't stay in this hotel if i didn't have to.... It was the cheapest available hotel for only one night before we continued our trip...
