Buakao Inn Guesthouse — Hotel in Ko Pha Ngan

We Booked 5 days in this hotel in July for our travels in November got a confirmed email plus another asking what boat would we be on, all very professional but when we arrived after the tiring night train and ferry crossing to be greeted with we have no rooms, they did take us to another place opposite who had space and we stayed there the night but found the area so noisy, it wasn't noise from clubs as there is nothing to do in the area it was people talking out side closed restaurants at 4 in the morning, anyway they seem to have done us a favour as the owners of the second place took us to some lovely beaches in there car with some of there Friends for the day which made us realise we needed to be by the sea, We found the Hacienda Beach Resort and booked in its a ten minute walk from town and the same price as Buakoa inn but a whole world away regarding what you get for your money, I have no idea how it gets such good reviews but I didn't get a chance to stay, I did get a chance to speak to the owner who said they gave our room to someone who walked in 5 minutes before we...

We had a great stay here for one night. Comfortable, clean, great AC. Appealing room with good natural light, but quiet for a great night's sleep. Located on one of the best streets in Thongsala, and within walking distance from the pier. ||The one weird thing is that most of the photos on TripAdvisor don't match the actual guesthouse that we stayed in? The main picture of a little thatch hut, for example--we didn't see that. But perhaps the Inn has another property by the same name? Or it's a different part of the building that we never saw? Either way, makes little difference as the stay was great. Friendly management, even let us check out a little late so we could spend some extra time at the beach. We had a hell of a time finding good accommodations (for a decent price) on Koh Phangan. This Inn was really nice, especially for the low cost....

I really really like this place. The staff are friendly, the room is clean and it’s in a very convenient location! Also they don’t rip people off for scooter rentals :) Sophie is very trustworthy and we had a really nice scooter for a good price.

The only one bad thing about this place is that they allow smoking in the corridor and there is no ventilation in the corridor so the smoke came under our door and filled room. This wouldn’t be a big deal for most people but I am very asthmatic and had chest pains all night. Plus it’s a disgusting smell and we just couldn’t get away from it.

But apart from that it’s a perfect guesthouse! If they took the ash tray out of the corridor and put up some ‘no smoking’ signs, it would be...
