First of all.. I don’t usually take much time to write a holistic review about a place unless the experience I had is extreme (good and bad). For Kamalaya my experience was beyond wonderful so it is best for me to list out each topic / item that impressed me. Side note: there is nothing that I did not like about this place!! If I could give more than 5 stars, I totally would.
Prior to check-in: Great communication since booking to arrival, the reservation team kept track of everything and ask if we need any assistant constantly along the way but of course not that much that one can get annoyed.
Upon arrival: Check-in was quick and seamless (my bf always complain if check-in takes more than like 5 mins - this time he is extremely happy). The reception provide us with a folder of information that we can keep during the entire stay with maps, activities schedules, spa menu etc etc etc, they even provide us with most useful words to use in Thai within the booklet!! We are Thai so we don’t really need that but it was a nice gesture for sure
3.Getting to our room: A golf cart drove us to our room and we thought that was it.. the guy came inside and explained every details of the room to us and it was such a nice conversation that we didn’t feel bothered. Once he is done, another golf cart had already arrived and so the first guy right away deliver our bags. This is such a great idea as we didn’t even have time to think about where our bags were! Sooo smart!
The room: Super awesome, homey and spacious. If u like to watch tv... there is none here for you. The concept is to be with yourself and digital detox.. so if you wish to work or play Netflix, then u can bring your own laptop to enjoy in your room or villa
Spa: must try!! The resort has an extensive and varieties of massages for everyone. They even have some power related stuff like reiki (I totally didn’t understand myself what that was) but as a curious noob, I tried and the sensation it gave me was out of the world and is some thing I have never felt before so do try the Three Treasure - their signature one
Facilities-Fitness & Gym: First when I walk into the gym I was like.. ok, this is a typical gym full of cardio related machines. Then I look closely I realize that there are three floors full of gym equipment not one and cater to all your needs from cardio to wait to yoga to TRX anything you can ever imagine. It was actually built around a natural stone so the gym seems secretive but want people to explore
Group activities: Love their all day our schedule. Period. U really gotta see what activities plans they have for the week so u can sweat, stretch, meditation or to reach into your inner self.
The FOOD: How is it possible that they change their dinner menu every day and they all taste amazing even though they are all healthy food? I will leave just just that.
9.Overall service: I would say it’s beyond five star because all the staff are so nice so caring and want the best for you. I actually returned one more time and date even remember me and that was a nice icing on the cake.
I love this place a whole lot and I would always want come back if I have time.. I can’t wait for my next vacation...
Read moreKamalaya far exceeded my expectations. Admittedly going into it I was a bit sceptical as to the return on investment and the value it would provide. But it was above and beyond what I’d imagined.
The property and amenities are stunning. Each manmade structure is clean and luxuriously beautiful, seamlessly integrated and built in and around the preexisting nature. You’ll see a tree growing through a house, hut, or shower. You’ll see boulders sticking through the floors or walls of the gym or a treatment room. Each walking path winds its way around the property like a babbling brook with lush greenery surrounding it. Running water trickles and waterfalls down various landscaping as well. There’s a beautiful beach, various pools, a plethora of activities (yoga, meditation, chanting, HIIT classes, salsa, ci gong, tea cermony socials, tai chi, Pilates, sound bath healing, etc). The food and the menu are very healthy, delicious, and there’s a great variety.
As of Sept 2025, which is considered the off season, there were maybe 40-50 people rotating in and out here throughout my 11 day experience. I was the only US Citizen for the entire stay I had. Other attendees were Dutch, Aussie, Kiwi, British, Indian, Canadian, Singaporean, German, Bulgarian, and more. The number of staff far outweighed the people staying here. Service was excellent, professional, and very warm. Community was possible but not required. There’s a community table at breakfast and dinner to mingle with others. Some used it while others stayed in their own bubble.
The wellness santuary, cognitive house, and longevity house combine to make more treatments and offerings than one can count. They can truly cater to each individuals needs and create a program that works for you. From massages, to mentoring, to IV drips, to oxygen chambers, to cold plunges and steam rooms, to colon hydrotherapy, infrared sauna, to embracing change, to hormonal balancing, to physical training or physical therapy, to acupuncture and cupping, to super stretching, to comprehensive detoxing, the list of what they offer goes on and on.
Being surrounded by nature and the infectious positivity of the people here, it’s hard not to leave here better than you arrived. It’s the kind of place that’s thought of all the little details. If you’re on the fence, i highly recommend going!

Read moreLife changing events led me to Kamalya to have time with myself, to think, heal and pamper myself! I got what I was after and even more. For a health conscious and healthy food loving person, this place was simply everything I could dream of! I loved every dish and there was so much choice for me! Restaurants are beautifully located! Overall, the entire staff is friendly, helpful, welcoming and competent! I did the Asian Bliss treatment and each of my treatment was outstanding and I had a lot of massages and treatments in my life…! I know the differences and Kamalaya treatments were extremely good! The TCM even helped after years of should issues! The library with so many books is wonderful. The workshops, meditation sessions were great! The cultural and temple tour that is offered twice a week are highly recommendable. The location is simply stunning and how it is setup in the middle of nature, far from everything is extremely stunning! It was clean and tidy at all times! Be aware that the location is far from any supermarket. A walk to the next supermarket takes about 30min according to Google Maps. So, you might depend on the food that is offered at Kamalya. In terms of drinks, you have the choice of natural water, a variety of self-made juices, smoothies, teas, sunflower seed milk, almond milk and pumpkin seed milk. No sodas or the like! Sparkling water you will have to pay for in case of a meal package or no meal package. Wines and beers can be purchased at lunch and dinner time. As mentioned before: food is outstanding, especially for health conscious, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free people. There are Thai, fish and poultry dishes. Tip: Meal plan options can be inquired before the reservation: Half-board, full-board or without meal plan. This also applies to packages. Prices are European, but the food is of much higher quality. Well, depending on what you compare it with. It is definitely not Thai cheap in terms of costs; in case this is what you wish for. Quality instead of cheap prices should matter more at Kamalya. You will get outstanding quality – food, treatment, location, people, services… Meal plans cover all drinks and the food you get with a meal plan is plenty! You can select from different pillow cushions and having a quality sleep at Kamalaya is very important to them. Mattresses are medium hard and you can have a softer cover in case needed. I love hard mattresses. To me it was a little too soft, but I could handle it well. So not too bad. This however is subjective!
I love my stay at Kamalaya and...
