Cool Bar — Restaurant in Ko Samui

A bar on a beach in Koh Samui, nothing unusual in that you might think but this one is special. Located on the beach to the left of the Centara Villas Samui Hotel, 111 Moo 2, Maret, Natien Beach, Samui 84310. It is in an idyllic location, sheltered by very large trees, with seating for about twenty-five people, or of course, you can lay on the beach. It serves reasonably priced beer, wine and cocktails, and has an excellent repertoire of food to suit everyone's taste. We were two couples, and we drank a selection of drinks until the sun went dow - please note that you cannot view the sunset here but the sky takes on some magnificent hues at dusk - and then we each ordered completely different dishes. The food arrived promptly and was excellent. The cost of the whole evening was not at all expensive. It is, in my opinion, a great place to bring children as the sea is not deep there, and there are plenty of rocks, beach, and trees behind the beach to explore. The staff, I believe a family, are very welcoming and extremely friendly to all. Very relaxing. Something people should know when ordering food, their menu section that says "fried", is "not" fried, they mean stir fried, which is better! They should change their menu description because I believe more people would order stir fried if they knew it was not fried. My wife and I had curry with prawns, stir fried prawns with garlic and peppercorns, and chicken pad Thai, and all three dishes were freaking awesome. However, I ordered a virgin pina colada that was less than spectacular. They do have fresh coconut water, and their bottled water is filtered! I could do without the music though, when I come to the beach I like to listen to the sound of the waves; maybe they should start playing the music later in the afternoon towards evening.
