Definitely a 5-star place! Great surroundings, about 20-25 sturdy cement bungalows spread out over a quite large area, so from some of them you might need to walk a bit to get to water - on the other hand, everyone has their own peace and noises from neighbours don't bother much. Good quality bungalows with solid fans/aircon, well designed bathrooms and fridges (in most of them). The place has its own sunbeds and hammocks by the beach, and each bungalow has its own 2 rocking chairs on the balcony plus a small shower to wash sand from your feet - nice touch! For staying here you can get good last minute deals through Agoda, but for this quality you can even consider spending a bit more (than in the cheapest places on the island).
Restaurant seems to be good quality, and prices are either good value or little pricey, depending on what you order (in other words, check out the menu before you order 😉) - but it's still cheap compared to other tourist destinations in Thailand. The staff is friendly and attentive, and there's free drinking water included in the price.
The only minor downside is the vast amount of warning signs everywhere. They have their own generators (in order to provide 24/7 electricity), so they want to make sure you don't use any power draining device in your room. If you need strong Internet connection, you better buy your own Thai sim card before arriving...
Read moreI booked through Agoda which was a mistake. If you book with them you pay full price plus tax...it ends up much more than the advertised price...my room was good in the sense it had a water view...it was old and the bathroom smelled like mildew. The power is not strong and hardly turns the lights on. ||after being dropped off there I discovered that there is not a store or any where to purchase anything. We walked up and down the beach which is full of sharp small chips of corral that hurt your feet looking for some place to eat....good luck with that...very little to chose from. Decided out of desperation to eat at the restaurant at the resort....WHAT A MISTAKE the food was bland and had no taste, the price was very high and the mosquitoes were like small birds.....where I asked the server for a fan to keep the mosquitoes off us he brought one...but there is not enough power in the lines to run the fan....we were the 3rd week in January and we were the only ones at the restaurant...that should have been a clue....the young lady behind the desk as nice and the place is quite except for barking dogs and early in the morning. I wish I had read the reviews here earlier and not booked at all or at least not booked through Agoda.... I won't make this mistake...
Read moreI have stayed in this place with my girlfriend for 4 nights. The first thing that I saw when I came was a big "DO NOT ENTER" sign at the front. Look like the owner knows how to welcome his guests! And when I met him in person, he was not friendly or even polite with us... That could be forgettable of the accommodation, location and restaurant are really good but that was the case at all !
RESTAURANT: the menu is 26 pages of dishes from all over the world, with prices twice more expansive than the rest of the island. Don't expect to eat fresh here!
LOCATION: quite and peaceful place. Nobody in the beach to disturb your sunbath! The beach is beautiful but don't expect to swim here as there is no depth for 300 meters!
BUNGALOWS: the bungalows are really good if you had enjoyed an Internet promotion to rent them. Normal price is more than 3500THB for a night TV, electricity and hot shower. But after traveling around the island, lot of places are offering nicer and cheaper bungalows with same services. The cleaning is not that good and there are "DO NOT" signs everywhere in the room. The hotel is talking about "sea view bungalows" but it is impossible to see it as there are trees everywhere!
I was really disappointed with this hostel and I strongly not...
