We stayed here our first night in Thailand because we landed late and wanted a hotel near the airport. For the price it was fine. The free breakfast in the morning was surprisingly good, the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. I'm leaving two stars because of two issues.
1; our room had no hot water. The hot water heater didn't work at all.
2; the hotel hailed a cab for us. They handed him the address to our destination and the driver charged us 1000 baht. I don't know if it was intentional or not but he then preceded to get lost and throw a tantrum. We had GPS on and still he went the wrong way. He settled down after we gave him another 200 baht. It was our first day here but we later found out we grossly over paid. Wether or not the driver got the wrong address from the hotel or not we found out we should have paid only 300 baht total for a 60 minute drive. Had he gone the correct way and followed our gps the trip should have taken 35 minutes. The cab driver had a hat covering his meter. Now after being in Bangkok for a few days this all feels like a bamboozle by the hotel and...
Read moreWe needed a place to stay close to the airport as our flight was early in the morning after a nice time in Bangkok, Pattaya and a long week in Koh Chang. We did decided that it was only to rest before our flight. First off, it is in a sketchy area so be careful. We did not know this as we booked online. When we first walk in the door the mildew smell took my breathe away. The front desk was not friendly at all. We didn't get there until late as it was a 6 hour drive from Koh Chang, so we felt we had to stay. There is no elevator and we were on the 4th floor. Staircase very narrow. The room wasn't bad but the bathroom was not great. We went into the city for the evening so we were not there long just a few hours after the city to rest before leaving in the morning. When leaving in the morning the front desk (different person) was not friendly again at all. There was a HUGE cockroach laying right next to the front desk. GROSS! They do have a shuttle to the airport that only leaves every hour on the hour. That was convenient for us. I would not...
Read moreAlready stayed in Mariya Boutique Residence a few times. Always just for one night between flights when it wasn’t worth the hassle getting downtown Bangkok just for a short night. The hotel isn’t at Suvarnabhumi Airport itself but a 15-minute drive away. I always booked the hotel together with transfers which are well organized with a clear description of the pickup place at Suvarnabhumi Airport where a representative awaits you with your name on a signboard. There are dozens of hotel and tour representatives so it may be a bit searching among the signboards and there may be some waiting time for other guests but it never was long. Price for one night accommodation including airport transfers is almost unbeatable. Rooms look a bit dated but are clean and offer everything needed, a downside is there is no elevator so getting to your room after a long flight carrying a few heavy bags can be a...
