Proud Khaoyai — Hotel in Nakhon Ratchasima Province

Not a bad place, just some bad problems. The good; The rooms are clean and well equipped. Great shower, TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, water kettle, hairdryer, balcony. The bad; Dinner is outside with the mosquitoes and overpriced, the water in the pool had an off smell, and if you like your fried, sunny side up eggs cold, then they have the breakfast for you. Worst of all, I pored a bottle of water into the kettle for coffee, when it was ready, I pored it into my coffee mug and was greeted with the smell of steaming bleach! It had been cleaned and sanitized, but not properly rinsed! I don't know about you but I will pass on having Clorox...

Good location for overnight stop on the way to Bangkok. All very simple. Staff OK but not well trained. For that price/quality ratio one can stay in cheaper hotels nearby as well to get a better ratio. Breakfast is not good at all and not worth to book/pay extra for it. The feeling is lik in a cheap backpacker hostel. One can not even get a scrambled eggs or an omelette and no freshly brewed coffee but instant coffee. Better drive through and look for hotel in Bangkok for same price with much better service and quality for...

The missing 2 stars are from the unwelcoming ambience, particularly laundromat smell, and another reason is the not-so-smooth reception (messy ink from a pen used to sign the credit card for payment and a splash of alcohol into the eye because alcohol was needed to clean the ink-smeared hand!). This should not occur in the first place and I can't believe I was offered a dirty rag instead of a piece of proper tissue paper!

Other facilities are ok....
