Piyada Residence by Nexottel — Hotel in Pattaya City

In my recent visit to Pattaya I stayed in Piyada Residence which gave me an opportunity to learn more about the VC plaza and the South Pattaya Rd neighborhoods. The hotel is located in a convenient location and if one is conditioned to walk (20 minutes for the most part) then, there is absolutely no need for renting motor bike or to hire a Taxi. In fact if one wants to catch those Blue Pickup Truck Taxis that cost ONLY 10 Bhat, the nearest one is about 15 to 20 minutes walk depending on one’s pace. The daily continental breakfast is served on the 2nd floor café from 7am to 10:30am that offers eggs, toast, watermelon cuts, hot and cold beverages along with small selection of Thai food. The hotel lobby has two computer stations with FREE Internet connections. The hotel offers clean rooms with strong air conditioning, FREE WIFI, adequate furniture, large closet space, two daily complimentary bottles of water and a mini bar that you can request to empty out, if you need to store your own groceries. There is no safety deposit box available in the rooms but you can have one at the front desk area with refundable deposit of 100 USD or 2000 Bhat. There are no extra charges for bringing guests. The roof top has a nice pool with panoramic view of the city and complimentary pool towels are given at the front desk. From the main hotel entrance, turn right toward the immediate traffic light (10 meters away by the 7-11 store) then turn left to a long street which I could not find its name (so let’s call it XYZ Street), about 15 minutes of walk the XYZ street intersects the Pattaya 2nd Rd where Taxis are available. If one crosses the 2nd road and continues on the narrow alley ahead, the infamous Walking Streets is ONLY a short distance away (2 minute walk). Once you reach the intersection of XYZ Street and the Pattaya 2nd Rd make a left turn and about 5 to 8 meters there is a painting Gallery store on your left, in there you will find one of the best currency exchange rates in the entire city (they are very competitive). The XYZ street and the surrounding area are heavily influenced by Arabs (some Iranian and Indians too) and this is the best place if you enjoy the cuisines from these cultures. Once you enter the XYZ Street from the hotel at the 3rd T-Section on the right side (count very carefully) which is the major T-Section make a right follow the bend and at the end it intersects the South Pattaya Rd. At this intersection to your left is the Tukcom IT center building selling computer and accessories and the TOPS Supermarket is located in the basement (ONLY 7 minutes walk from the hotel to this location), however if you turn right at this intersection, the “Friendship” Supermarket is only a few steps away. Both the TOPS and the Friendship are big major supermarkets. Cross the street from the Friendship Supermarket toward the right direction (almost 10 to 15 meters away) there is an Internet café and a camera & film store and in front of these two stores one can catch minivan service to Bangkok for ONLY 92 Bhat from 6am to 8pm where the minivan drops you at a station on Victory Monument in Bangkok and the metro train station is upstairs where one can go other parts of Bangkok such as MBK or Pratunam...

I stayed here for four days with my wife as part of our honeymoon trip, and we couldn't regret anything more than our decision to stay here. Not only did the staff speak English poorly (let alone any other language like Russian or Polish or German) but they were at their utmost recluctancy to help in any way.||||The Internet didn't work in our room and the router was right by our door. At night there were people shouting and yelling until 05:00 in the morning, after which the police came and tried to sort out a situation with two guests staying in a room on the same floor.||||When it came time to checkout, they offered us a taxi to Bangkok for 1,500baht, without any problems- but when I said I found a taxi for 900 baht they wouldn't call me the taxi without a $1 per minute charge, and they just called "their" taxi for free.||||I finally put money on my Viber account, and the receptionist apparently made arrangements for the taxi to come ... And we waited... we waited 90 minutes for it to arrive. After that, they wanted to charge us an extra 300 baht for not checking out on time-even though we waited in the lobby.||||I talked with the manager "Sam" over the phone (because it was his day off) and he refused to try and fix the situation in any way. It was apparent they were looking to only scam their clients.||||We ended up paying an extra 320 baht in order to get our room deposit money back - which was supposed to be 500 baht.||||They put a stamp on the bottom of all minibar items, and even if you replace them they check the trash (and save it until you checkout so they can show you what you did there). After that, they charge you $4 for a can of coke which costs $0.50 in the store next to the hotel.||||There are so many places to stay in Pattaya, DON'T ruin your trip by staying...

We'd booked a premier deluxe double room for a romantic weekend away, but instead we were put in an old family suite with 2 extra single beds and no seating area. ||The bed was extremely hard, the old aircons were noisy and open dripped, a pipe in the bathroom was leaking, and it wasn't very clean.||The "upgrade" was hidden in a long welcome message sent a few days in advance. I immediately informed the hotel by email and by message that I wanted to stay in the original room. They did not reply. ||Only on arrival were we told that the original room had an aircon problem. By then, it was too late to cancel. ||This all feels like a scam to sell sub-standard rooms, and we definitely...
