First of all we would like to thank the staff, especially Ms. Wee and Ms. Irish who cared about our concerns. They organised technicians to look after one inoperable AC in the fitness center. The one in front of the cardio devices. Hope they can fix it with the ordered replacement parts. We are also very thankful for getting the possibility to change the room 805 which had a moldy smell and I woke up every morning with headache (without having drunk in the evening). The room's have a high quality interior. The TV has the possibility for USB, hdmi and VGA input. A bluray player is also available. The mini bar is fully equipped and there is also a nespresso coffee maker. Different capsules are available at 40baht each. The bathroom has a walkin shower with a big window to the sleeping room. The window has electric moving shades. Slippers, bathrobe, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion are also available. The pool at the rooftop (9th floor) has a brilliant view on the beach. It has enough sunbeds and if required shadow from six sunshades. Two lazy oyster beds round it up. The fitness is good equipped with each of one devices. It is not very full as we were most of the time the only visitors. Cooled handkerchiefs are deposited in the fridge. We were missing small towels for whipping of the sweat. The breakfast buffet has a changing variety of fruits (papaya, watermelon, Logan, jujube, passion fruit, baby banana, manderin, Appel and oranges. The included coffee variety is regular coffee. Black tea, earl Grey and green tee are possible. Two smoothies (strawberry and kiwi) and juices from guava, orange and one more are available. Besides water they offer vita drinks like pandan minced and lemon minced water. The friendly cooks at the egg station have prepared sunny side up and can offer you fresh omelet and even poached eggs. French toast with two types of bread, waffles, pancakes, and many more Danish are waiting for your choice. The warm dishes cover a wide range fromc curries to potato wedges. Thai salads, fresh legumes and cheese are also available. Soy milk and optional Thai dessert and musli are next to the breadsection. I am sure I forgot some items. Newspapers are also available. The travel groups are only visible at the breakfast and not further recognized throughout the day. They offer a free shuttle to Pattaya central festival leaving 13:00, 16:00, 20:00. Returning 13:30, 16:30 and 20:30. The beache can be reached through the breeze spa opposite of the hotel. At the beach there is currently renewal of the promenade ongoing. A seven eleven is right next to the hotel and a coin laundry (40-50baht/1h) is within 200m on the Phra Tham Nak 5th road.
We had a great stay at the grand centara Phratamnak and are looking forward...

I booked a city view suite and that was my first issue - I opened the curtain and all I could see was another balcony on the opposite side of the hotel. We spoke to reception and were moved to a more suitable room with no fuss so that was fine. Our room was in almost an annexe to the main building and it was pretty much deserted and had no atmosphere at all - it felt 2nd class to the other building if I'm honest but a 2 day stay was not too painful. My review title sums up most hotels in Thailand and I've been in many I can assure you. Toilet roll holder falling off the wall - minor maintenance needed in some areas and as for the light switch set up it's a damn joke. I am guessing that either a drunk or a child designed the electrics in the room - it took my 2 days stay to work it out !! 2 TV's back to back - 1 in the bedroom and 1 in the seating area - now this is annoying as when you turn 1 on it turns both on, running backwards and forwards to turn TVs on or off and adjust volume is a challenge. Well the good points: all staff are lovely and smiley - the chap helping you park ( in the limited parking spaces ) is really nice and friendly. Breakfast appears pretty good but I'm not really a breakfast fan so just coffee for me - they really do need more than 1 coffee machine but luckily it is quiet season. The rooftop pool looks great but I had no time to try this so give it a go eh. Note: the 7/11 a min walk away is possibly better than most I've used. There is a 7/11 cafe/cabin that you can get a lovely coffee from and sit and have a great ocean view - I loved that 👍 All in all a very satisfying stay and I will probably return - please get a maintenance man to sort out the silly little issues that will become big issues very quickly. I have no doubt those words are wasted but worth a try. Oh 1 last point - get rid of that silly pod coffee machine and get a kettle !! Those tiny cups are a joke - luckily I packed mugs for every...
Read moreIndeed one of the best 5 star hotels in pattaya. This hotel has got beautiful rooms and great amenities. We picked the sea facing suite and it was amazing. What a view facing of Jomtein Beach! (Pics attached) The suite we booked can accommodate 3 adults. It's got a main bed and an adjecent extension room for the other bed. Bathrooms are well equipped with bathtubs. Only weird thing was that there was a see through glass door between the bedroom and bathroom which was a bit weird as I was traveling with my parents. But for couples even with small kids it's all sorted out haha. Our room also had a balcony facing the sea. You get complimentary water bottles too everyday when the room is being cleaned. The breakfast area is at the lobby downstairs. Very spacious and breakfast was very good. No Indian menu though but you get a sumptuous European Breakfast ranging from stir fried noodles, egg fried rice, bread, cereal, Omlet counter, cakes, fruits, juices etc. Breakfast is from 6AM to 10:00 AM. The hotel also has got an infinity swimming pool with pool bar at it's top most floor with a gymnasium too. It's got it's own massage centre where the rates are fairly decent. Overall it was a brillaint experience here in the 4 nights I had stayed. The only drawback is since this hotel is situated in a mountain top it's a bit far from city. This is located in South Pattaya whereas the city is central and north. So Tuk-Tuk won't be available to the hotel. You only have to take cabs. Still you've got many restaurants and pizzerias near the hotel. The best thing is you've got Seven Eleven right next to the hotel which comes very handy if you wanna buy few cans of beer and enjoy sitting by the beach. And even Family Mart in the next street. Talking of the beach it's only a min or less walk from the hotel. Very nice to hang out in the evening. So if you're going to Pattaya I'd strongly recommend that you book this hotel. Though it's 5 star it's rates per night are very affordable and more than decent for the amenities and standards...
