Large waterpark next to Jomtien beach. It is almost 20 years since the first time I got there and there has been very little rennovation. There is a very big round pool for adults and a small one for kids. Some water slides too. Kids usually ennjoy it. Since last visited 2 years ago , some "clever" guy decided to replace the old wooden reclining chairs with more sturdy metallic ones. Made of iron, they are all rusty now, very heavy to move, with pointing rusty corners with which you can easily injure yourself-all of us got scratched but luckily we were carrying antiseptic and we were covered for tetanus. You need to bring your own towels to cover them before sitting. There is a canteen with cheap local food4. If you want to spend a few hours here better bring your own food and utensils. The toilets are dirty with NO SOAP OR TOILET PAPER available. The place can get busy during the weekends and holidays, attracting a very noisy crowd of locals coming for a quick escape from the provinces. Entrance is 200 baht for person, I remember when it used to be 100-110 ,a few years back. Conclusion : OK if you have kids or like swimming pools, otherwise the nearby Dongtan beach is another choice for those who think the water is clean enough for swimming. You can go out to the beach and re-enter if you like as they put a stamp on your hand as a proof that you paid...
Read moreThis is a review of the restaurant at the top of the tower. The actual water park I have never seen open as it may have been low season when I went. The sky lift ride is open every day that goes to the top. You can access it from along the beach side of the park. It's kind of a neat place to walk around and has many interesting things to look at like an old railroad car and some dinosaurs. We went for the all-you-can-eat buffett that opens at 4? It cost 700 Baht but if you have Thai ID, it's 500. Seemed like a decent deal. The view is pretty nice, if you can go on a clear day with no clouds or haze in the sky, otherwise it's not so great. I went 2 times and only got one good sunset. It rotates 360 degrees and it takes about 1 hour for a complete revolution. Plenty of good views of the beach and city. The food was okay, not great, like you might expect from a buffet. You are there for the view, right? They had a wide variety of dishes and also prawns, crab legs and shrimp, as well as salmon. There was a soup bar, plenty of desserts and ice cream, even brewed coffee, a Rarity in Thailand at a restaurant! If you go during the low season, it is quieter and more pleasant. During the high-season (Dec-Mar) around 6, the tour buses full of Chinses show up and it's a zoo and the people eat...
Read moreWe were at the water park a week ago. It is worth mentioning that even if it appears on the website of a hotel, the entrance is paid YES or YES: the price is 200thb/pers, adults and children, all day or half a day, resident or non-resident in Thailand. The facilities are suitable for children of all ages, being better for children between 7 and 15 years old who know how to swim. It's boring to be there all day, since you can't bring in food or drink. Inside there is a mini restaurant where they offer some (very very poor) food, drinks and snacks. They don't have fresh fruit, shakes, smothies or healthy food. The slides are somewhat deteriorated. The pools had mold. They do not have towels, so you must bring it from home. The children had a great time, because they do not appreciate all these details. In fact, they would like to return, but that will not be possible due to the lack of facilities. How is it possible that a site made for children and families, under the blazing sun, does not have fresh fruit and natural smoothies? And some light and healthy food. I must add that the workers were not...
