This quaint resort with just 4 rooms all directly on the lake with beautiful morning views of local traditional fishing methods is the main reason I booked this resort. The sounds of waves at night remind me of living on a sailing ⛵ boat. Waking up with the sun 🌞 directly across the water is most beautiful. The bed was very comfortable, nice and soft. Big double doors opening up beside the bed is nice. The bathroom is okay, water pressure just ok. The overall condition is getting a bit old and dirty.. The room is simple with just a bed, fridge, TV, kettle and some snacks and instant soups for additional cost. Hair dryer available. Folding child's bed available.
A small table a chair inside the room would of been nice.. Black out curtains for privacy would be nice as it's easy to see inside through the side windows at night.
The room itself is getting a little tired and renovating is a good idea if the price remains quite high. 1800B a night
A delicious buffet style breakfast is served with traditional Thai cuisine. Rice soup, Khanom jeen, sweet sticky rice, instant coffee and ovaltine,
There's a small coffee shop on-site with good coffee. Also a small bar with beer and spirits.
Monkeys 🐒 are plentiful and well behaved. Patiently waiting for handouts. A few local dogs 🐕 keep them in order. A resident cat 🐈 too 😀
I can recommend this business but I felt the price was a bit high for the conditions of the room and bathroom.
I will return if the price is more competitive. Of course with the location it's hard to find a nicer place.
We used an online website for one nights booking and the next night we used the government travel incentive program "We Travel Together" which gave us 40% discount... at this rate it is reasonable but full rate is too much.
An unpleasant surprise on our second morning when there was a loud knocking on the door at 07:30. The staff had a tray with breakfast on it. Normally the breakfast was served between 08:00 and 10:00 buffet style. This morning the breakfast was not good. And we were still asleep 😴 💤 😒!! The breakfast was cold khanom jeen and cold eggs and toast with moo ping.. Very disappointing 😞 😕 😔 My partner was very upset about not being able to sleep in on our last morning.
Sorry to say but I can't highly recommend...
Read moreThe place is very unique in that the cottages are on pylons within the lake and connected by wooden boardwalks. The rooms are comfortable and attractive and the view of the lake from your bed is wonderful.||On the other hand, the location is 10 km from anything, so you must have a car and drive on a poorly maintained road to get to anything. You would think this leads to a quiet environment, but it does not. We were awoken before dawn by long tail boats before dawn and they continued to buzz around our cottage all morning. It sounded exactly like having a lawn mower outside our window. Because of the environment and seasonal flooding, they must constantly do maintenance, so after the boats quit when the water roughened up, we were subjected to the sound of power tools and hammering. On top of that, night club volume music was coming from a building nearby. ||Our cottage had a number of maintenance issues. It took 10 minutes for the hot water to work. The door locks were jury rigged and difficult to open and close. They did not clean our room on a daily basis. The breakfast was ok, but not as good as typical Thai street food, and the only coffee supplied was instant rather than brewed.||Overall, unless the novelty of staying on the water is important to you, I would recommend staying in or close to the town of Thale Noi. We saw some beautiful things in the area, but would have been...
Read moreThe hotel is a homestay rather than those ones with full services. It is managed by a small lovely local family. Facilities are not great but the services is heart warming. All staffs are friendly and caring with a touch of Thai-countryside-kindness.||The hotel was flooded when we went. However, we decided to go anyway and we are glad we did. It was adventurous from the beginning as we had to park our sedan somewhere high and waited for a 4 wheel-drive iconic Pajero to pick us up. The car basically drove on the flooded water and we spotted a snake escaping from the flooded road. In the bedroom, we spotted a wasp so we asked a staff to help. While waiting, a gecko came out to help by trying to eat the wasp. The man arrived, came in in time to see the gladiator show and joined in the battle. At some point, the wasp disappeared and suddenly appeared again on the man bum. I grabbed a tissue paper box and slapped it where the insect landed (yes, I hit a stranger’s bum with a tissue paper box). It was hilarious. ||Breakfast was local and fresh. The view in the morning is amazing. If you think you are down to earth enough to sleep with local insects - go...
