Our expectations were high, and the Wyndham surpassed every one of them.

My wife and I first stayed at this beautiful property 19 years ago during our honeymoon, back when it was managed by Evason Six Senses. On that memorable visit, we stayed in a pool villa. This time, traveling with our children, we chose a garden view room and booked a second room for the kids. Our six-night stay, including a fantastic New Year’s Eve celebration organized by the resort, was nothing short of exceptional.

Despite the property’s age, the quality remains outstanding. The rooms were impeccable, and the thoughtful welcome message from the staff upon our arrival was such a delightful touch—it set the tone for the wonderful experience that followed. The meticulously maintained grounds, coupled with the wide range of activities for both adults and kids, made every day special. We particularly enjoyed pickleball and archery, expertly led by Pran, whom we were thrilled to reconnect with after so many years.

The swimming pool design deserves special mention—it’s enormous and includes a fabulous 50-meter lap pool. Another standout feature is the fleet of complimentary bicycles, which made exploring the property and surrounding neighborhood both convenient and enjoyable.

The dining experience at Wyndham is top-tier, with a variety of delicious options. For those seeking a bit of adventure, there are also excellent local dining spots within walking distance. During our stay, we ventured out to visit Phraya Nakhon Cave and played a round at the Hua Hin Korea Golf Course, both less than a 30-minute drive away. While the resort is a few kilometers from Hua Hin town, we felt no need to leave—everything we needed was right there at the Wyndham.

What truly sets the Wyndham apart, however, is its incredible staff. Their warmth, friendliness, and attention to detail made our stay unforgettable. A heartfelt thank you to Khun Tharittiphan, Khun Kung, and Khun James for going above and beyond to ensure we felt at home. Many of the staff have been there for decades, which speaks volumes about the resort’s commitment to excellence.

We left feeling genuinely sad to say goodbye and are already looking forward to our next visit. If you’re considering a stay at the Wyndham, don’t hesitate—it’s a gem that will exceed your...

This could have easily been a 5-star review if not for the disappointing service at check-in and the lackluster pet-friendly experience.

We specifically searched for a pet-friendly accommodation and found Wyndham Hua Hin (Pranburi) listed at the top. To be safe, we called ahead and were told to book the Garden Studio King Room if we were bringing pets, with an additional charge of 1,500 THB per dog. Based on that confirmation, we made our reservation.

However, upon arrival after a 4-hour drive from Bangkok, we were met with immediate rejection by the front desk. Instead of being welcomed, we were told that we had not booked through the hotel’s official website and were blamed for not calling ahead to get permission to bring our pets—which we absolutely did. Oddly, none of these conditions were outlined on their website.

Even more confusing was the contradiction in the hotel’s own materials: the front desk insisted that pets were only allowed if booked directly, but the hotel letter clearly states a charge of 1,000 THB per dog for direct bookings and 1,500 THB for third-party platforms like Booking.com. This clearly shows that pets are allowed via other platforms, contrary to what we were told.

To make matters worse, they claimed our dog—a husky—was not allowed, yet we saw another guest with a Samoyed. Additionally, when we tried to dine at the hotel’s restaurants, we were only allowed to sit outside. While we understand not being seated inside the main restaurant, if you’re going to force guests outside, there should at least be basic amenities like an umbrella or a fan—especially in Thailand’s heat. We genuinely felt like second-class guests.

When we asked if water was available for our dogs, staff simply asked if we had brought our own bowls. In our opinion, if Wyndham wants to market itself as pet-friendly, especially as a 5-star hotel, it should hold itself to a certain standard and provide a more welcoming experience for guests traveling with pets.

That said, the hotel facilities themselves were great—honestly, it’s a pity that the service and handling of pet-friendly policies...

I had a truly enjoyable stay at the hotel. The surrounding environment was serene and beautifully maintained, creating a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, always ready to assist with a warm smile and genuine care. Their attentiveness added a personal touch to the experience and made me feel well taken care of throughout my stay.

One of the highlights for me was the morning breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of options available. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the abundance of fresh salads, fruits, and wholesome choices that catered to my dietary preferences. It was refreshing to see such a thoughtful spread, and I never felt limited in my options. That said, I do feel there’s room for improvement—offering more vegan-friendly dishes would be a wonderful addition for guests who follow a stricter plant-based diet. It would make the breakfast experience even more inclusive and satisfying.

I also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, which featured a diverse selection of vegetarian meals. The flavors were rich and well-prepared, showcasing creativity and care in the kitchen. However, I did find the pricing to be on the higher side. While the quality was commendable, a more balanced price point would make dining at the hotel more accessible for guests who prefer to eat in.

Beyond the food, I absolutely loved the range of activities offered at the hotel. Bicycling around the property and engaging in outdoor sports added a fun and energetic dimension to my stay. These activities were well-organized and provided a great way to explore the area while staying active.

Overall, my experience was delightful. The combination of a welcoming atmosphere, attentive staff, satisfying vegetarian options, and engaging recreational activities made for a memorable visit. With a few small enhancements—especially in expanding vegan offerings and adjusting dinner pricing—the hotel could elevate its guest experience...

We attended a 5 day cooking course at the Blue Lotus planted based cooking school located at The Evason. Our course included accommodation, breakfast and bicycle hire. I had the pool villa and my friend had a room with sea view. This might have just been one of the best holidays of my life and I travel a lot. I loved riding my bike along the bike path beside the beach and watching the sunrise every morning. There is a lovely national park with gorgeous cliffs and beach an easy 5 km flat ride along the beach from the hotel. The breakfast has all the usual options but some incredible plant based hot and cold dishes as well. I became addicted to the fresh cashew and sunflower seed milks. We also enjoyed a tennis lesson. I was hesitant at first but it was hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable. The hotel is on around 28 acres of lush tropical paradise. At first I thought it looked a bit run down but it’s really quite perfect and operates in an environmentally responsible way. At nights there is a duet who plays in the bar area and two for one drinks at set times. We danced along to the band sometimes on our own and sometimes joined by others. I can’t recommend the Blue Lotus Plant Based Cooking School enough. Absolutely state of the art kitchens (raw and cooked) with top class chefs to impart their culinary skills upon you. We came away with some valuable knife skills as well as a whole new set of recipes to whip up at home. The General Manager Alan was friendly and enthusiastic and even though I told him I usually holiday with my family in a different part of Thailand he can rest assured knowing that he, his resort, staff and the little black street dog have stolen my heart. I will be back with my husband and children for another week or so in paradise soon.
