Bandara On Sea, Rayong — Hotel in Rayong Province

Cleanliness - The room was fantastic, spotless in fact, 5/5.Location - I give this 3/5 because the hotel is located at a beautiful beach. However, the street around the hotel has nothing else on it (not the fault of the hotel obviously). The beach itself is beautiful, I will repeat, but only immediately in front of the hotel. The rest of the beach is very dirty.Service - This is where this hotel becomes a real disaster, and if I could I would give this section 0/5. We checked in around 11pm to 11:30pm. The staff came to the counter while watching a movie on his phone and left the movie playing full volume whilst looking for our key. After a very long process of checking the computer he led us to a room. He stumbled a lot on his way and appeared drunk. When we got to the room, he looked inside and told us it was already occupied. He told us that our room had been sold to someone else because we were late checking in and led us back to the reception where he walked off somewhere without telling us any more information. We stayed at the reception and used the bathroom facilities in the meantime. I also proceeded to contact trip dot com's customer support to let them know about the issue. After a while had passed he came back and walked past us to the bathroom. After coming out of the bathroom he led us to a new room and told us that this room was now available. The whole thing was bizarre and we were caused to worry unnecessarily by being told that we didn't have a room. I cannot think of any justification for his actions and it started off the stay at this hotel very poorly.Amenities - The amenities provided by the hotel were adequate. They included a bottle of water in the room. I do like when hotels provide toothbrushes and other smaller things so that would be the difference between me providing a 4/5 and a 5/5...

I have 70k views on Tripadvisor. Well traveled. Extensive hotel experience.||Stayed as a couple for 3 nights in a family room. Didn’t have high expectations but despite this we had a much worse experience than expected.||Room: |Not clean.|Dirty and dusty. Dust under under the bed and on top of the cupboard. Stains on the bedding. Broken water tap without any hot water. No shower curtain. Electricity fully visible in the ceiling. A big gap under the front door so animals can get in, broken balcony furniture. Dirty floor. ||Pool area: Poor.Missing all the steps on the ladder in the pool. Not useable. Outdoor shower were missing tiles to stand on which made the edges sharp. |Cut my foot.|| Restaurant: Poor very simple breakfast 300 baht. Empty in the restaurant other times of day. ||Staff: Boring unwelcoming attitude. Could not speak English. Had to go back and ask for wifi.||Guests: It was like a hospice with mostly guests over 70, ||Housekeeping: None offered. Hade to ask twice for housekeeping the second day.||Beach: Full of garbage on beach and in water. Got a condom wrapper stuck on my leg when I took a swim.||So shocked that Bandara group wants to put its name on this place which obviously not have had maintenance for many years. This accomodation should absolutely not be rented out in the condition it is now.|| Paid over 3000 baht per night. |Absolutely no value for money. Left angry and early and booked Novotel next door...

We booked for 3 nights and ended up staying 5.|We had a Deluxe Sea View corner room on the 4th floor which was lovely.||Staff are friendly, breakfast is a little limited but good.||Pool and gardens are great.||Just wish there was somewhere on site to get some drink and snacks during the day.|There were a couple of bars which were in need of repair which they seemed to be working on so maybe they will re open these at some stage.|There are however several beach bars along the beach which we enjoyed.||This is always a complaint of mine in Thailand, particularly along this coastline.|CLEAN YOUR BEACH !||The view is lovely, but spoiled by the amount of garbage washed up on the shore. Its horrible.|I know you cannot control what washes up but 100% you can control what you do with it.|The beach is your biggest asset, that's why we go and not some inland resort.||If you just clean it once a day it will make a massive difference and hopefully the resort next door follows your lead and in time the whole beach is as it should be.||You have a lovely resort but spoil it by not taking care of the one thing we go...
