Period of stay: 19th thru 22nd April 2016||||This hotel is quite new so the quality of the rooms is good: clean and well equipped.||The bed is large with a good matrass. Next to the fridge there is a faucet with a sink, but without the presence of cutlery present of doubtful use. The air conditioner is the normal type with remote (extra buttons behind sliding cover). There is plenty of storage space for luggage. The safe has a programmable electric lock. The usual extra's are there: water bottles and cups and saucers for making coffee using the water heater; shower cap; shower gel and shampoo. ||||Positive remarks;||- the free WiFi has a good connection in my room (on the 7th(US)/6th(UK) floor) with a good speed, even suitable for some online gaming (World of Tanks Blitz).||- the very luxury shower: a "rain shower" and a handheld shower with 5 settings for the types of water jets. Also an electric boiler is connected to heat the water when needed.||- The room has 7 free "dual" (suitable for US/Thai type and continental Europe type of plugs) wall sockets||- the great TV quality, HD flatscreen||- the midsize fridge which is larger than the usual minibar. And it is empty, so you can fill it with your own products.||- the 11 light switches, so it will take a few days to memorize them all...||- easy to use safe||- ample storage room||- sitting space; 2-person bench and a table with a chair||||Negative remarks;||- cleaning of the room is below standard. Just take a look in the bathroom at the sink and the glass shower wall. During our stay (3 nights) no clean sheets were put on the bed.||- no written information present. About internal services/phone connections ("0" turned out to be the reception desk).||- no room service or laundry service present. Have not found the nearest laundry service outside yet during my 3 day stay.||- the bathroom is smaller than usual. Hardly room for toilet bags, you have to arrange yiur items on the ledges around the sink.||- location;||Â * many taxi drivers have trouble finding the hotel, due to the young age of the hotel.||Â * only a "7-Eleven" within walking distance (return trip is a 2x5 minutes walk). To find a restaurant or bar you have to take a cab ride of 50-70 THB. My advice: go to "Central Plaza Ladprao" and have great quality Thai meals at "Taling Pling" (avoid "Sizzler's": bad quality for high prices).||- their breakfast (between 6:00-9:00) is 150 THB per person. Too much for the diversity and quality of the food and drinks offered.||- bed sides are not symmetrical. Only on one side of the bed there is a small table and a light. So not possible to park mobile phones etc. on both sides of the bed. No "men and women are...
Read moreWe stayed at Livotel Hotel Kaset Nawamin from 19-23Jan during our trip to explore BKK. We chose this hotel because it seemed to offer a good balance of facilities and affordability. The check-in process was smooth and quick, and the staff were polite, though not particularly warm or welcoming. One thing to note is their strict early check-in policyâyouâll need to pay an additional fee even if youâre just 10 minutes early, which caught us off guard đ Our room was clean and spacious for the price, with a comfortable bed and fully functioning air conditioning. That said, the bathroom felt a little dated, and the waterfall showerhead had poor water pressure, possibly due to rust buildup. It was a minor inconvenience, but worth mentioning. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi and parking, which were both convenient. We were pleasantly surprised to find a fitness room on-site. It was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with basic cardio machines. While itâs not a full-fledged gym, it worked perfectly for a light workout. The location, however, is not the most convenient if youâre relying on public transportation. Itâs a bit far from the nearest MRT station and central Bangkok, but taxis and Grab rides were easy to find, so getting around wasnât a major issue. The staff were polite but maintained a very formal demeanor, which made them seem a bit reserved. Communication in English was limited, but they managed to assist with our requests efficiently. We also made a few online orders during our stay, and the staff were great at safely storing our parcels until we were able to collect them, which we really appreciated. For the price, the hotel offered decent value. Itâs a practical choice for budget travelers, short stays, or even longer accommodations if you donât mind the location.Overall, our stay at Livotel Hotel was satisfactory. Itâs a solid option for budget-conscious travelers or those with plans in the nearby area. However, we wouldnât strongly recommend it for families with children unless you have your own transport, as the walkway to the hotel can be quite dark and there are stray dogs in the area. The hotel offers breakfast, and while the selection was limited, the quality was good, and we enjoyed it! All in all, it was a pleasant stay, and weâd happily consider coming back again...
Read moreThere are only two good points about this hotel. The soft bed and the good location. On arrival the only greeting I got was "passport' and a demand for 200 baht for keycard deposit. The room was basic but adequate, it had a lack of electric sockets. The biggest disappointment was the bathroom which was simply- filthy. There were spiders, cobwebs, flying insects and dirt everywhere, starting on the roof and down the walls. There was dirt between the tiles which was easily removable with a tissue, so I am wondering why it had not been cleaned. The toilet drain area had dirt and hair and possibly had maintenance before as the cover was off and a rubber washer discarded next to it. When we turned on the air-conditioner, a handful of black dirt was ejected. The hotel has a huge number of Chinese tour groups staying there and almost 24 hours a day you can hear them shouting and banging doors. A new group arrived at 0530 and it all started again. plus there were no empty tables at breakfast, so I had to return later and found the selection catered largely to the Chinese (rice and boiled cabbage for example). A taxi driver confirmed that there were a huge amount of bag thefts in the area carried out by motorcyclists, so we had to be extra vigilant when outside the hotel. At checkout, the same unfriendly service. And after taking back the keycards, all they said was "sign here" for the 200 baht keycard deposit back. Would I stay here again? Not even if...
