We arrived for a 5 day stay and were thoroughly pleased with our choice: room with a terrace and sea view. What a view that turquoise water was! Great design so you didn't feel like you were in a standard block of a hotel, lovely layers, wooden or tiled walls, stone fountains, really lovely for a beach hotel. ||I am not usually a fan of loads of loungers packed onto a beach and this stretch of beach in Cesme specialises in packing in as many loungers as possible onto a small space of sand. But it works. The water is so beautifully clear and that gorgeous island blue - we had been to the Algarve the week before at a perfect venue and this still dazzled. ||This is where the good ends:|Food including breakfast spread was totally uninspiring, and this is not hard to do in Turkey! Menu at the beach is quite European. Disappointing. |The beach bar is dead and nothing like they advertise per running video in reception, no vibe no music no atmosphere. At any time. Even on Friday/Saturday so called happy hour. No inspiration on the bar menu either. |Service is iffy, housekeeping was dismal, it's a long time since I have not left a room tip for housekeeping. Even at the spa, they were not busy, and I was told by a woman coming out of the shower that they could help me with a massage but after they have eaten. Very unprofessional. |The pools on the inside are not designed to be used really - very cold design and not inviting to want to sit around the pools. Luckily we had awesome weather so no need to ever go there. ||So while the venue is beautiful, the above means that location is not great for overall holiday - you need to trek to Alacati every day for anything interesting food or entertainment. This is not entirely a hardship as Alacati is just gorgeous and completely makes up for any lack of atmosphere at Cesme. But it's 20 mins each way. And at 5 star prices, you expect and...
Read moreLet's start with the positives, because it's a shorter list. Great location on the beach with fantastic views, day loungers, day beds etc. Rooms are a good size and well furnished. Excellent salads at the beach restaurant. Sadly that is where my compliments end. My list of complaints/disappointments hinge on the fact that this hotel charges full 5-star prices without delivering on service. Our room was poorly serviced, wine glasses used the night before were happily straightened and left there for us to use again totally unwashed. Not even embarrassed when we called reception to complain. Floors not well swept, I looked under the bed and nearly fainted and bits of paper left in strategic places to test cleaning were never swept away during our 5 day stay. No complimentary water in the rooms, not even Day 1. No IPod docking stations, even on request. Glass windows/ledge on patio not cleaned despite obvious sticky marks and hand prints. Gym, my pet peeve. The small gym is located next to another visible gym with interesting resistance equipment. Unfortunately guests are not permitted to use this other room as it is for "the sole use of the owners of the hotel"??? How's that for customer service? Wifi a total enigma that works intermittently depending on where you are. Food - menus uninventive for a 5 star hotel, if you want better local fare, best you head to Alacati. Cocktails disappointing and pricey. No music most days at the so-called beach bar...so zero atmosphere besides looking very pretty and comfy. Staff service levels vary considerably - some super engaged but a fair number not very helpful. All in all whilst the hotel is beautiful I don't think it rates well versus other 5-star establishments in both Turkey and other...
Read moreWe have been to 7800 last year and this year again. It is the most chill, yet luxurious beach club with a day rate in Çeşme (150 tl/person). It's not a club scene, which we loved, but still had a fun vibe and not tacky. I recommend for couple or groups of friends who want a calm, yet upscale beach experience. The beach is stunning, white sand and turquoise clear water. In 2018 service was excellent, and it was busy. Staff was still very attentive, and waiters came to our sun beds to check on us frequently. We had drinks and lunch on the beach, it was perfect. This year however, it was surprisingly much less crowded, but service was oddly not up to par as it was last year. Everything must be ordered at the bar now because the staff never visits the beach, although there are far less people visiting and still many servers just sitting around not doing much. I still recommend to visit (we will) but I hope service...
