Honest Review – Please Read Before Booking||||We’ve just arrived home from a 10-night stay at Limak Lara Deluxe — and I honestly couldn’t be happier to be back. I never write reviews, but I felt I had to warn others about this hotel and the shocking experience we had.||||On 12th June, my 1-year-old daughter contracted Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease during our stay. This illness caused her significant discomfort and caused huge stress and disruption to our entire family. What followed was a complete lack of support from the hotel staff — and the situation only got worse from there.||||We were told we had to see the hotel doctor (at our own cost), then go to Antalya Hospital to see a paediatric specialist, despite the fact that my daughter was clearly recovering. The handling of this situation was cold and completely unsupportive.||||The Guest Relations Manager, Gamze, was the most unprofessional hotel staff member I’ve ever dealt with. She was rude, dismissive, talked over us constantly, and even laughed while we were trying to raise concerns — in front of my visibly upset 4-year-old son. When we asked her to simply listen and show some respect, she continued with her condescending attitude.||||When we asked to see the hotel’s health policy, she took 15–20 minutes to bring a document, covered the logo, and refused to let us photograph it to translate. It felt evasive and dishonest.||||Gamze also wrongly told us the entire family had to quarantine and couldn’t use any hotel facilities — which later turned out to be completely untrue after she spoke to the doctor. Despite a letter from the hospital confirming my daughter could use the facilities (apart from the pool), Gamze still questioned us and even phoned the hospital to double check even though we had a document from the hospital stating what we were allowed to do. We were made to feel like we were lying and were treated with suspicion and hostility.||||Cleaners wouldn’t come near our room. Wet linens were left for us to change our own beds. Staff avoided us and treated us like we were contagious. Yet, ironically, the doctor and nurse who examined my daughter touched her without gloves. The hypocrisy and inconsistency in the hotel’s approach was shocking.||||Hygiene throughout the hotel was okay — every high chair we used was dirty, especially the seat. This is not what you expect at a 5-star resort.||||On top of everything, one night at dinner I bit into a hard, sharp object in my food — it looked like a piece of plastic about 3cm long. I showed it to the staff, who claimed it was cartilage from fish (it definitely wasn’t — it was too thick). Another piece was found too. The chef gave a half-hearted “sorry” with no real concern. My child could have easily choked — and they simply didn’t care.||||The food is repetitive and low quality — dinner is the same every night, and we ended up eating out. Breakfast is barely worth going to: eggs overcooked, beans raw, and nothing fresh or appetising.||||We also visited the Italian restaurant, which costs €19 per person. The place was practically empty, but service was awful — they got my meal wrong, and when we asked for recommendations, we were met with blunt, uninterested replies.||Please be aware not everything is included in this hotel. ||||Staff attitudes were consistently rude — drinks were slammed down, and asking for simple things like ice was treated as an annoyance. The language barrier was far worse than we’ve experienced on any of our many previous trips to Turkey. Even basic questions like “can we book a taxi?” couldn’t be understood.||||Other guests were also incredibly rude — pushing, shoving, and not even allowing families with prams into the lifts. We felt constantly disrespected.||||The kids’ disco was decent, but straight after it, music with swearing was played — completely inappropriate for a family hotel. Other guests told us some of the evening shows were also inappropriate, including a “ provocative dropping” competition. We avoided the shows as they were on too late for our kids anyway.||||The hotel itself is tired and dated. It doesn’t look anything like the photos. The beds are hard as a rock, and the sheets are scratchy and uncomfortable. The shower temperature constantly fluctuates and the water pressure is poor.||||Good points…. The beer on tap is nice. General hotel cleanliness is okay. The buffet has a wide variety — but again, it’s the same thing every day and quickly becomes boring.||The beach is beautiful, really peaceful down there, the only thing I will say is that the sand is made up of little stones so I put my children in the beach shoes which really helped as it’s very very hot sand due to the beautiful weather. ||||Other things to note:|| • The gym doesn’t open until 8am, which many people were annoyed about.|| • Check-out facilities are poor. The men’s changing room has two cold showers; the women’s only has one. You can’t use your own hairdryer, and the hotel’s one is too weak to be useful.||||If you’re wondering about the 5-star reviews, many seem to come from domestic guests — which might explain the overly positive ratings.||||We will absolutely not be returning to this hotel or recommending it to anyone. I’ve never felt the need to write a review before, but I’ve also never been so let down or upset by a holiday experience.||||I hope this review helps others make an informed decision and think twice before booking.||||— Nicola...

Read moreWe travelled on the 5th September, and had two fabulous weeks, we are a couple in our 50’s. Transfer took about 20 minutes from the airport. ||We arrived late and went to our room, we had a side sea view room worth paying the slight bit more for. The room was large, good Wi-Fi, fridge with couple of beers, juice, coke, orange as well as couple of sweet treats. The shower was not great but done the job and the pressure from the tap was slow, however our air con was great, everyday bed was made, bins emptied. |We found the bed really comfortable.||There is one main restaurant, Zen, this caters for everyone, you. Red to get a table first so many people walk round with food trying to find somewhere to sit, the staff try to keep up cleaning and if they know you they will sort you a table out, small tips help, they earn rubbish money and are grateful. |People have moaned about the breakfast, but there is loads if you can’t find something out of it all I would be amazed, fresh bread, eggs, cereals, the juice is too sweet, and coffee machine rubbish, the outside bars do nice latte and cappuccino. |The one thing that knocks this hotel down for me is the other restaurants, aside from the Turkish you have to pay for, in my opinion if they opened these as part of the all inclusive it would take away the pressure on the main restaurant. Also in my opinion they should charge people who leave the amount of food on tables uneaten, never seen anything like it.|The restaurant is so busy they can’t keep up with cooking, burgers for example 12 were put out and gone in seconds, meaning a wait for them to prep the next lot. Don’t get me wrong lots of other things to select but it didn’t matter what time you went at the food would run out. People were seen complaining about this. However that aside there is so much choice and we never ate a bad meal in there. |We had two weeks of glorious weather the pools are lovely, the bigger pool was warmer. The grounds are beautiful well kept always people cleaning, gardening. |Outside there is a snack bar, hunk it opened at 12, this had the same things most days, doner meat, chicken coujons chips, fish, pizza, salad bar, and fruit with a few cakes. We ate here everyday just for some time away from the sun. |Entertainment was great, shooting, darts, aqua aerobics, a game in the pool, spinning glasses, yoga, beach volleyball, it was never ending. Then the pool foam parties. Party by the pool in the evening was fantastic, the effort they go to and the same on the beach. There were singers in the sports bar in the evening, the un4gettables were brilliant they had everyone dancing. They had an amphitheatre but we didn’t go to any shows so I cannot comment on them. Whenever we went to it which was down towards the beach we ended up getting bitten loads so avoided it after that.|The hotel is huge, the main restaurant on the reception floor, a coffee shop, bar. You then had -1 and -2 out to the pool, there were shops, a hairdressers. I used the gym several times, it’s a good size. Pool towels are supplied, some are a bit thread bear, I considered buying two as they don’t cover the sun bed and in the heat the plastic sun loungers do get really hot. |Outside the hotel is a parade of shops, including a chemist if needed. |There are cats and kittens one of the staff members makes sure they are cared for, they don’t bother you, they will look for food if you eat at the snack bar. |I tried a couple of cocktails, they were not great, I stuck to pink gin when they had it, they do a lovely ice coffee as well. |The staff are amazing, in the two weeks we had one day when the staff had no go, slow service, not interested and couldn’t understand English. The rest of the time, the majority would be bring you a drink and not even ask. They were so attentive, find you a table and go above and beyond for you. |The lads on skates were so good, it would great watching them skate, they were so pleasant and work so hard. |Overall we had an amazing time and didn’t want to come home. |The new terminal at Antayla is much better, be prepared for there security checks coming home, however it...
