We booked this hotel because it was a 5 star. It certainly doesnt feel like a 5 star, it may well have everything that ticks the boxes but not the ambiance by any means. Im not actually sure how this hotel ever got 4.7 / 5 out of over 6000 reviews?? The air conditioning in the room wasnt working at night, after complaining to the management they said they had fixed it, but it didnt work properly until the last couple of days when everyone was saying they had complained as well, so its probably turned down to save money. The room was nice and clean and it had a fridge, but no contents. We had a balcony with a sea view, the soundproofing was great but the pillows werent, however we managed to get a good nights sleep. The chamber maid kept coming into our room, in the end I had to shout and wave her away three times before she actually left! The hotel could do with a good paint up and the staff could do with being taught to be a bit nicer towards the tourists, but it was the end of the season so they had probably had enough. The clientele are mainly of russian origin, being english we only had a handful of other brits in the hotel. Theres a daily activity going on, not that we did any of this as we just sat by the adults only 'silent' swimming pool, albeit there was another client who belted out rap music for the last three afternoons, so we were actually happy to come home at the end of our stay. I do feel that the management should have intervened and stopped this. There were some really good evening outside performers, we werent too keen on the disco nights or hotel entertainment crew. The grounds are just beautiful with palm trees everywhere set in spacious grounds, it sits on its own private gravel beach so you dont get hassled by the locals, but the gravel doesnt make anyone want to be on there anyway. Theres cats and rabbits running around which was just lovely. There was always plenty of space to put your sun lounger, which were plentiful as well. The food is varied and wide spread, its not great, but its not awful either. The drinks are ok and the wine was nice but obviously its an all inclusive and its all ok. The hotel a la carte wasnt really worth bothering with, but it was nice to try a different option. The spa was nice, but the staff pester you to come and have massages, they dont have a price list so each person has to sit down at a table and haggle the costs which isnt really 5 star is it?? We had two massages each, but the second massage was much shorter than the first, obviously they were trying to get us to buy the second massage.... The hotel has a hairdresser, but when I asked for a price for redoing my extensions, she actually grabbed my hair and pulled one out of my head without my consent, then she was rude and pulled a face at me as I was walking away, thats pretty much the attitude of most of the staff at this hotel, however the bar staff were nice and remember your drink. The hotel is a bit away from the town - about 15 mins by taxi. The hotel has a taxi waiting, but its way more expensive and the man was really rude to us for trying to haggle the price. Theres a tunnel underneath the busy road outside to a taxi...
Read moreI booked the Labranda Alantur Resort in Alanya with Stayforlong from 8 -19 July 2024. The order was made through the same link that my sister used to book the hotel an hour earlier. I received a confirmation. booking confirmation to my email. Booking:502034218, SFL-63732D8C36. Then I read reviews on the Internet, that this company takes money, and tourists on arrival - are left with no booking. They have to pay again,or they are left without a hotel. I immediately called the Labranda Resort directly and it turned out that my booking was not there. I called Stayforlong on 9 June to clarify. I asked if they were sure - not dealing with a middleman company that had gone bankrupt (the resort itself had warned me about this) .They replied and assured me, that this is not the case, and my stay in Labranda Alantur Resort was confirmed. I received an email on 10 June stating that my reservation was confirmed. I printed this email and had it with my voucher. On arrival in Turkey, I was there at 1 am and it turned out that the resort had never heard of me. I showed the confirmation from Stayforlong, that everything was paid, but the receptionist was adamant. They did not have a room for me . My worst fears were confirmed. The resort told us to sleep on the street because they were fully booked . Security manager with no english skills- wanted to kick us out...It was the middle of the night and my whole family was there. My sister, my brother, my nephew, and my brother's children, that is 7 people had rooms -but I, with a friend who booked with me - did not have one. ... it was a terrible situation. Finally reception found a room for the rest of the night. Charged us 200 euros in cash.I wanted receipt but they refused. So I made a pfotos of receptionist taking money - to have a proof. They called Police because said is not legal.Had to delete the only proof. In the morning I contacted the manager. He did not want to help at all.He had some report from reception last night that I was calling the men "thief" and on this basis he refused cooperation.I still have a video- there was no that situation happened. They lied, and accused me of wrongdoing!!! My holiday was ruined because the hotel was fully booked. This trip was my birthday celebration. 9 members of my family arrived specially for me, but I was kicked out of the hotel. Yes, this was maybe not a resort fault that Stayforlong cancelled my reservation-but attitude of the staff and manager was very bad . He refuse me to use the phone for local representative of Stayforlong and show no compassion. At the end... they work with this company, so why they were not willing to help? Finally my sister talk to the manager and bingo ! he did find the room for me!!! I had to pay full amount again. So what was all about? Hotel was overcrowded, not enough sunbeds,no enough icecream in hot weather...terrible drinks with paper strow which were melted after few minutes, poor and primitive entertainment.Restaurant staff were rude. All my familly had a stomach pain after eating...NEVER AGAIN

Read moreThere are some pros and cons about this hotel. Pros: Location is good and hotel design is ok. It is beachfront and you have an access to the sea. Location of facilities are not bad. Food also was ok, but not great. "Animation team" was ok, and there were also activities every evening. I liked it. Price is acceptable compared to other hotels, but there are series of reasons of this "cheap price" and here we go. Cons: Hotel is very old hotel and rooms smell very bad. It is a bit tight in the rooms, especially if you stay with your kids. I would give 3/10 to the quality of the rooms. For instance, air conditioner works only if you close the door of balcony. Hotel wants to save some money from electricity consumption, but I went there to rest, to forget about my problems, not to think about expenses of hotel. Minibar was just a joke. They had 4 mini water bottles in minibar, yes just 4 water and the guy emphasized it that, "you have free minibar". Frankly speaking, it is a bit insulting. It would be better if they removed minibar completely. It would make more sense. Cleaning of the room was disaster. There were only one lady in our section and that poor lady could not arrive to everything. We insisted that, please clean our rooms in the first part of the day, but they always cleaned it after 3-4 PM. We asked for a soap, otherwise they did not put it there. Some of the staff were very very rude. I argued with a photographer there. He almost crushed my 5 year old baby-girl and started to grumble to us that, keep your child nearby. When I tried to speak with him kindly, he raised his voice and started being even more rude. The sad part is that, I am the client and I complained about him to the management of hotel and they did not do anything. Security measures in the pools were zero. There have been a pool with slide and nobody bothered to control who slides from there, who should wait, is there any kids or not. 60 year old lady was almost hit to my kids while sliding. I asked 2 times to the guy who was just sitting in the chair, he repeatedly said that tell to the management. So, no measures and it is extremely dangerous for the kids. If you enter there, please do not let your kids without control. Stay in the pool meanwhile. The big pool was always full. Everybody was putting towels there and they were keeping the places for 5-6 hours. There was not enough places there. Also it was extremely slippery at some places and I counted more than 30 people who fall badly. Food was not great (but not bad), also they were cooking inside of the restaurant and it was smelling all the time. Backside of bar was full of the garbage bins and it was smelling bad. Bar menu and restaurant menu was moderate. Lets say not bad.
Note: beach is not the best, there are rocks in the sea. But you can go to the right side of the beach, in front of the bar and there was a bit better than the other places.
Overall, I would not like to go to this hotel again. You can find...
