This was our second visit to Turkey and first in Okurcalar. I wont say much about location bcs thats not something hotel can change. A lot of people have problem with gravel on beach but thats what you must check before arriving, not hotel faults or something to take star down.
I will start with negatives tho. One of our first experiences with hotel staff was hotel porter who took us to our room on first floor and took our luggage there. When arriving to room we thanked him and he waited, so we thanked again and he asked with weird look on his face "thank you??" and he was still waiting, obviously for a tip. When he saw we are not giving any now, the smile went away, he turned, smacked the door and as he was leaving he was mumbling under his nose in turkish. Like wow are you serious? we were travelling for 16hours straight from evening to lunch basically, slept 1hour during night and all our money and everything was in the locked and packed luggage. Wonderfull welcome...
Other then that the biggest minus was hotel gym, that felt like we went back in time few centuries, half of the machines broken, damaged, filthy, room was smelly and dirty, not enough stuff to do there, we literally were checking hotels nearby to contact them and pay them to let us do some exercise. Thats not how 5* hotel gym looks like, thats was rly not even letdown but straight disgusting. We managed to find 1 gym 35min walk from hotel named X BUDDY Fitness Club and went there. (can provide photo and video but i hope owners will read this and think about it, not everyone go to holiday just to eat and sleep)
Rooms feel a little kitschy with the colours etc and mattresses were asbolutely terrible in our room, since first night our backs were sore till we got home. that was probably biggest problem we had bcs we felt "broken" after every sleep. They were worn out
Those were 3 biggest flaws, other then that small stuff that can be handled for hotel your reputation like rug on the halway people are tripping over bcs its rolled or adding notes in dining area what stuff is in the bowls because we could only guess, these are stuff that also make hotel feel like 5* and not "we want to look 5*"
TO POSITIVE SIDE: food options were really really wide, every dinner and lunch we could choose from 10-15 main course that were warm and fresh, so i dont understand people saying same options. People if u went there for 14days you could have different meal every day. Grilled meat was amazing, workers were smilin (even tho i understand not everyone can have happy face all the time), cleaning tables, when asked for help or bring something they did. pool bar with snacks etc was also great, tea was there everytime, fresh water also, pastry was amazing. location as is okurcalar is not really pleasant, not much to see but you could take a walk to like 5+ different bazars and huge ones to check out shops and feel the atmosphere. -side with old city and archeological stuff was 30min by taxi and i recommend that to everyone. Taxi drives were very sweet and waited for us there. VIEW FROM HOTEL IS AMAZING, never saw hotel where like 90 of rooms have sea view :) -people also mention they didnt had kettle in the room etc, well you could ask on reception as we did and kettle was delivered by room servise in like 15minutes :)
summary: there are stuff to do by hotel owners to make stay more pleasant but also for the price the hotel is great and i have no problem recommending it to anyone.
P.S.: People who go and place their towel on beach to "reserve" a spot deserve to have their towels tossed...
Read morePLEASE READ THE REVIEWS OF THIS HOTEL BEFORE BOOKING. This should not be a 5* hotel. ||We arrived at the hotel last Thursday (a little annoyed because Corendon airways had left our bag in Manchester but ready to get up in the morning and buy some clothes for the next couple of days). ||Pros:|- family rooms are big. |- rooms have a mini bar for when you arrive with 4x bottles of water, 2x Fanta and 2x Coke which was a nice touch |- you could hire towels from the hotel |- main pools are clean |- lots of entertainment throughout the day and the entertainment team work hard|- beer is nice and cocktails are alright |- the beach is pebble beach which the kids enjoyed throwing into the water and the pier was lovely to sit on in the evening|- free bottles of water throughout the day that you can help yourselves to ||Cons:|- hotel is a little tired in places with carpet coming up, dirt around and bits that need a little revamp |- pool toilets are disgusting |- food was odd - it was pretty much the same every day with no change. Most all inclusive hotels we have been to have done theme nights but these were non-existent which was a shame|- all four of us got sickness and diarrhea which was horrible - this is likely due to contaminated food which in a 5* hotel you should not expect. |- towels were only replaced 3 out of the 6 days|- room was only cleaned 4 of the 6 days (rooms usually cleaned every day in hotels)|- the air con in the hotel is not sufficient for the space. Room air con is great but as soon as you leave your room it is sweltering in the hotel. |- view from the balcony was awful. We were above the kitchen so we had smoke and steam billowing into our balcony all the time so we couldnât even sit outside. We also only had one chair. |- someone walked into our room with their key at one point when we were in the room. They were not housekeeping, they were a guest. I reported this to reception who just blew me off, told me it was impossible and when I complained he sent me to guest relations and then when speaking to guest relations, again I was told this was impossible but they would check the cameras. I had no reassurance or communication following this. |- slides were only open for 4 hours a day and even then, they were closed earlier on a couple of the days. |- the kids play pool was disgusting. It had a sand surrounding, it was broken and just looked dirty. Kids hated it. ||All in all, we had an average holiday. A holiday that we had saved a lot of money for and we were really disappointed. ||Do not buy anything from the shop in the hotel next door (it had a lot more than Q Premium Resort) but the guy absolutely scammed me, I paid on card and he refused to give me a refund when I took some clothes back due to holes/broken or...
Read moreI would love to give 5, but unfortunately not for this time. I will start from the benefits of this hotel: -Location is great, you have just one stop before you'll reach the hotel (~1,5 hour) -Hotel lobby is exceptional, well maintained. -Hotel rooms were clean and new. View from the room, I can consider, quite nice from each room( but it is very individual ) -Facilities such as Pool( huge and clean, with controlled water temperature), beach and restaurants were more than enough for all the guests. Sometimes you'll face the queue during dinner, but it's manageable đđ» Great animation team đ„łladies, who made for us morning gym, aqua gymnastics, step aerobic - you are perfect đđŒ As well Alex with the darts game was super fun and entertaining đđ» -Bartenders on the Snack bar ( beach bar) and the lounge bar are so hard working and friendly, always shared a good mood and drinks đ (brunette lady was especially kind and professional) It was good to have snacks in the afternoon with fresh salads and French fries. The chef in the salad station in the beach bar was super nice: friendly, welcoming, and professional. Now I will go to the next part of feedback ... -Food variety was average. Breakfast would be nice to have with juices (fresh ) as well as fresh brewed coffee ( itâs a must for breakfast! I was not able to have a proper coffee until the lounge bar was open) And one more point for the breakfast part- please letâs add some omelet đ -Reception staff could be more customer-oriented: check-in was good, as well as a bell boy-friendly and welcoming. Hence, I would love to know upon check in that I have to bring a 10 $ deposit for each towel card. As well as it was not possible to have a second key for free or at least with deposit đ€Šđ»ââïž you have to pay 10$ ( thatâs what theyâve told us on the frond desk) Another minus is a super slow wi-fi connection, even the chargeable wifi( from the other guests Iâve heard) was horrible. In your room you wonât be able to find an iron :( Laundry/ ironing only on additional charge. As well it felt empty cause in your room you without coffee set up. One more recommendation, for the Spa. It is great that you have this kind of facility, however, it feels like a cheap one if you can hear how reception staff is chatting in between reception or the corridors while you are trying to have your massage. At least turn on some music to mute those noises.
In general, if all those minor issue will be fixed. I will gladly recommend this place and will be happy to...
