On the morning of the day of arrival at the hotel, I inquired through booking.com website about the possibility of organising transportation from the airport to the hotel. Practically immediately, all communication was transferred to WhatsApp, where we agreed all the details, but no general terms were given. Our plane was delayed upon landing, and another transportation option appeared, so I canceled the transportation order from the hotel. The interlocutor thanked me for the notification and that was all for that moment. Later (in half an hour), he wrote again that the management's request was that I pay at least one way, even if we did not use their service and that this was clearly written on the Booking.com page and that the driver had to get to the airport after us and then returned empty. The fact is that this type of transportation does not work like that at Istanbul airport, as the drivers are there more than not all the time, they only provide transportation for different hotels. I must point out that payment was requested in cash. Several messages were exchanged. I always claimed that I would not pay 30 EUR for a service that was not performed. If they asked for just a fraction of that amount, I would probably pay.|When we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist gave me a statement for the hotel payment transaction, and then asked me for a card to pay for the transportation. As I did not want to give him the card, he called his superiors. Since the conversation was in Turkish, I did not understand it. In the end, we got the key to our room, and as for the transportation, we were told that we would talk about it.|As it turned out, we got a smaller room than was reserved, but we concluded that this was just "revenge" for the non-payment of the non-executed transportation.|In the evening of the same day, I received a message via booking.com website that the payment for the night at that hotel was not successful and that I should enter information about a new card. In the next message, however, I was informed that the overnight stay was cancelled. I was reading this on my computer while lying in bed in a room at the MED Airport Hotel in Istanbul!||Almost at the same time, I also received a message from the bank about the refusal of payment in the amount of EUR 30, which, fortunately, the MED Airport Hotel from Istanbul tried unsuccessfully. ||They have tried for 8 straight days with this transaction and were finally successful when some funds on my card were released. All those transactions were done manually.||So, not only did they cancel our hotel stay, which of course we did make, and so probably avoided paying booking.com commission they were trying every day to get our money, which they certainly have no authority to do.||I will NEVER stay at this hotel again and I suggest that you...

Read moreI specifically chose to stay at MED Airport hotel because it was close to the airport as I had a layover in Istanbul for a day.
As far as the hotel goes - it’s a small place tucked away in an area where there’s not much to see or do which is fine since it’s out of the way and near the airport.
The room I stayed in was fairly small. Barely enough room to walk around my bed after my 2 pieces of luggage were placed in a corner. The refridgerator didn’t really work well. The showers were okay, nothing special.
They offered breakfast in their price, which was a very average take on breakfast. Each plate was pre-loaded with breakfast essentials and wraped in seran-wrap. The customer just takes the plate and everything that comes on it. There were jams and syrups you could take, as well as hard boiled eggs if you wanted. Other than that, it was self-serve...
