JW Marriott Hotel Istanbul Marmara Sea — Hotel in Bakırköy

I have stayed in quite a fair bit of hotels and I also just stayed in the JW in downtown Istanbul. Very different vibe from both hotels, both are great. Let me tell you what kind of guests would prefer this over the one in downtown.

If you wanna have a getaway, mini vacation away from the city and prefer modern architecture and brand new property AND with an executive lounge, then this JW Mramara sea is more suited. The hotel is brand new and looks amazing inside and outside.

Now for anyone visiting this property, you are most likely gonna want to have seaview and its kinda expected. When checking in, make sure to ask the front desk agent which rooms have better view rather than which room is bigger. The 1-bedroom Junior Suite is indeed bigger and very nice interior design, but half the view is blocked by the building beside us. So consult with your check-in agent. Suites dont always mean better. Depending what u want, bigger suite or better view. I got myself a seaview king room. View is amazing. So remember, viewsize if you were given a choice.

Breakfast is amazing and have large selection. Gosh, every morning is a feast!.. Now if you have lounge access, their lounge food selection is pretty good also, their canepes is not meant to replace dinner, but if you just want something nice and simple for early dinner to call it a day, it is absolutely sufficient.

Staff were amazing. Very professional. Some even treats me like their friend. I love their staff. Really made my stay a very memorable one. I want to say thank you to the following people for helping me having a great stay:

Israfil, Robert, Alp, Ayhan, Dogukan from front desk and Doga from Pearl Lounge and Elif from Guest Relations, were all soooo helpful to me, they really made sure i was happy in every single way. No request is being declined without giving it an honest try. I missed out some names, but just know that i am very thankful to many staff from the hotel. And this is one of the hotel I will return!

One more note for guests. If you plan to come here, consider taking a cab from a nearby station. Dont walk to the hotel from whichever station you see from the map. Its more troublesome than it seems. Also, there are issues with both google and apple map with the hotel's Location. In the event that you stand right in front of Hyatt regency, facing Hyatt regency (facing south), JW is about 5 min right (West) of hyatt regency. Also you can look for "Seapearl Ataköy", its a residential building, its the same spot as JW hotel.

This was quite literally one of the best hotel and residence experiences that we have ever had. everything from the check-in to check out was five star. Our bags were waiting inside our residence, the bellhop gentlemen were fast and courteous— helping us also to book a car and anything we needed. The residence apartment itself where we stayed was a 2 bedroom 2 bath, sea view balcony exceptionally clean, spacious, well appointed, modern and up to date. The front desk staff, specifically Bursa Candan, worked with me before arrival to organize a special birthday welcome for my mother. It was absolutely perfect. We really didn’t want to go sightseeing outside of the hotel because the resort itself was such a joy to stay in. The lobby is grand and magnificent. My Kid enjoyed the indoor pool facilities - the waters were warm and the staff came around and brought waters and a robe for my Kid. The restaurant Ceres was a 6/10 for the dinner — we didn’t “love” it but it was ok. However, the breakfast at Ceres was a 10/10. The executive lounge was 10/10. The other restaurant venues including room service were definitely a 10/10. I particularly enjoyed the Vitola lounge and room service. The housekeeping staff were amazing. They were like ninjas cleaning our apartment quickly, efficiently and thoroughly. Melisa answered all of my questions at the spa and I was delighted to book a half day— it was everything! I enjoyed the steam room and sauna, the hammam, the massage and the facial services along with the staff the facilities—Everything was relaxing, heavenly, smelled wonderful and clean. I wasn’t looking for something bad to happen, but I wouldn’t have been surprised because it happens. BUT EVERYTHING was the best! Anything awry, they fixed with a smile on their faces! These moments matter so much as it helps to create beautiful memories. This experience was an absolute joy, and the only downside… the only negative thing I can say about the place is that we had to leave. Thank you to the wonderful staff if JW Marmara. Some folks mention in the reviews that hotel is fare from touristic places. I should mention that staying at tourist area of Istanbul you won’t get enough sleep and better service. Additionally, I should mention that those folks can afford 5 star luxury hotels won’t feel pressure for another $10 dollar taxi fee to visit the touristic sites of Istanbul...
