I stayed at the Latife Hanim Konagi from July 8-10, 2013. A few more nights there would have been even more enjoyable! I was in "Suite Room" (#11), which has a private entrance on the street behind this boutique hotel's main entrance. The hotel is centrally located, close to the landing of the ferry boat from Geyikli. ||||Driving in the main port village of Bozcaada is complicated -- very narrow, one-way streets and limited parking. It may be more helpful to call the hotel upon arriving by ferry boat, so they can accompany you (and your car) to the hotel's nearby parking. ||||POSITIVES: 1) my suite would be ideal for a family with 2-3 kids, as there is a master bedroom / toilet / shower upstairs -- plus a fold-out sofa-bed, dining table, toilet / shower downstairs -- along with a small kitchenette and fully stocked refrigerator. 2) excellent water pressure and "rain forest" shower, 3) good air conditioning, 4) comfortable room and well appointed, 5) very friendly service (even if English was limited, we got along just fine with "Turklish" and sign language), and 6) a copious breakfast buffet served on the rooftop terrace with spectacular views of Bozcaada port and the castle. ||||NEGATIVES: The door to this private suite is very thin, thus, I was able to hear most of the noise from the small side street where the suite's entrance is located. Luckily, it's a very quiet village that goes to bed early -- except for the yapping puppy who lived in the house next door to the suite and was discontent for most of the night ... ||||UNDECIDED: The hotel's "private beach" was a disappointment for me ... 1) not easy to find, 2) a bit run-down, and 3) limited menu / services. It's basically serviced by a rudimentary camper and cook-stove offering tea, coffee, water, sodas and a few sandwiches. NOT a 5-star beach lounge experience. However, 17-year old Okan who works there was sweet and tried his best to provide good service. ||||Finally, Bozcaada is a place to relax and unwind, so even after two days, a pent-up, "5-star" guy like me was able to just let go and accept its...
Read moreSpent more than a week at the Latife hotel last summer and we had a fabulous time there: the hotel is not the cheapest option on the island but it is definitely worth every penny. ||It is centrally located in the village of Bozcaada, a short walk from everything and easy to reach from the ferry terminal. The whole place is decorated with local flavor and very good taste: rooms and bathrooms are rather small but perfectly and elegantly appointed.||The owner and staff are very helpful and always welcoming.||Of the many qualities this hotel has, breakfast on the rooftop terrace is definitely the top: the food is mostly local and it is fresh and varied. The view on the port, the fortress and the Turkish coast only adds to the experience.||Another outstanding feature is the private beach, located about 10 minutes by car away and close to Ayazma: actually the hotel's beach, Suhlubace, is a lot better than Ayazma and far less crowded. Here they have a full garden area immersed in the vineyards and overlooking the sea. The only downside is that seawater is very cold, but that's everywhere on the island.||Overall, we had a fantastic stay: Bozcaada is a place worth visiting and this hotel is just the best one to enjoy everything the island...
