Where do I start with my honest review!? I could talk about Liberty Fabay all day but I’ll list the most important things.|This is the 3rd 5 star all inclusive hotel we have been to, one in a different part of Turkey, and one in Cyprus. Liberty Fabay trumps them both!||My husband, myself and our 6 year old son stayed 10 nights in August in a room with direct access to a pool (via steps)|We arrived around 10/11pm, champagne (prosecco) on arrival to complete check in, such a small touch but just sets you up for a good feeling about the hotel! Room was clean, very comfy beds, air con works very effectively. Rooms are cleaned every day, with fresh towels. Mini bar restocked daily, with snacks, fizzy drinks, soft drinks, water (including sparkling!) and beers.||The food at the buffet is excellent. I (and my 6 year old son!) are food snobs! But we enjoyed everything we ate, there was a big variety including things I hadn’t seen before in this time of restaurant, including rabbit, quail, langoustines etc. My son was particularly happy as he got to eat a whole grilled seabass every day! There are different things on offer every day, we did not get bored by the food in the 10 days we were there.||With our stay via Jet2 we had a complimentary dinner at one of the al a carte restaurants. We chose the Peruvian one as it was mainly fish (I might have chosen differently if I had realised how much fish was on offer in the buffet!) It was just ok.. I wouldn’t have been happy to have paid extra for it. The view was lovely, right near the beach but there was no shade or air con so it was HOT. I can’t comment on the other restaurants, a nice change to have table service, but I think the buffet was much better.|We ate at the bar by the pool, which apparently turns into an Indian restaurant of a night. It is table service so again, a nice change to the buffet, but get there early as it is popular. The food there was also very good, good variety on the menu. If you cant be bothered to get dressed out of your swimwear, the snack area has chips, kebabs, jack potatoes etc, all fresh and hot, we only ate there once when we all just fancied a big plate of chips.||The 24/7 patisserie was excellent! The cakes are great, not synthetic. We took a pudding up with us every night before bed! Ice cream is to die for, and they have a freezer with ice lollies you can help yourself to. Coffee is very good.|We went to the entertainment shows every night, get there early to get best seats! Something different every night, there wasn’t one show we didn’t enjoy. The drinks are great from the bar, and free flowing popcorn and crisps.||A lot of reviews mention certain members of staff, I didn’t take note of anyone’s name in particular as every single member of staff we came across was absolutely top notch! Very engaging, very attentive, very professional, they all stand out. I am diabetic, and had left my medication in the fridge once we had checked out of our room, and they sent me a what’s app message with a photo to say I had left it there! Thought that was such fantastic customer service.||Couple of little niggles if I’m really trying to find criticism:|We thoroughly enjoyed our room with direct access to a small shared pool (via stairs) it was a nice change for the main pool. However we felt this needed a waiter to come up periodically to take orders, as we were having to go down to the lobby bar in our swimming costumes to get drinks. Even if it was just once an hour or so.||Sun bed wars does happen unfortunately, not a lot the hotel can do about it, so unfortunately you will have to get involved and get up early to get a good spot!|The shop selling the inflatables is an absolute rip off! Take your own inflatables and get them blown up there! We bought a turtle lilo and a just a standard lounge lilo and it cost us £89!!|Drinks: It’s difficult to get a night cap after the professional shows end. The beach bar is lovely but very difficult to get a table, we only managed it once in the evening. There are not enough seats outside at any bar. Apollo bar closes at 10:00pm. We would try and have a drink here before going to dinner, and we went to dinner early every night, but sometimes we had to walk out without getting a drink because the service is SO slow, and it would make us late for dinner and the show. When we did manage to get served, on several occasions the ice had melted by the time we had received our drinks, not sure why service is so slow in this bar, everywhere else is timely. I went to the nightclub twice and both times I was the only person there so I didn’t stay.|Buffet: “Theme Nights” weren’t really themes. For example they had an oriental night, which had sushi, but then for the next 4 nights they had sushi. Most themes were just sold as some form of kebab night. There were plenty different options every night but the themes fell short I thought. There aren’t any proper food stations, where they have a special dish for that night and they are made fresh to order, except for omelets in the morning. Only once in 10 days did I find just plain cooked vegetables, my son loves his greens but whenever I found broccoli or green beans etc, they were cooked in onions and olive oil and tomatoes etc. I think a plainer veg option should be available.| |The guys that rollerskate around the pool taking orders are amazing and they work non stop the entire shift, but it’s hard to get their attention, I think maybe we got 2 or 3 orders from them, the rest of the time we had to go to the bar ourselves.|The drinks at the pool are FAR TOO STRONG. The drinks are served in little disposable plastic cups, so when having a long drink (Gin and Slimline Tonic is my choice) half the cup was gin, several I had were actually undrinkable and my husband and I are both seasoned drinkers! We had to keep asking for SMALL gin, but because of the size of the cups, it was impossible to get a well poured drink. Don’t know why they can’t use the tall reusable plastic cups they use at the adults only pool?? They made a lovely G&T.||Tips:|Take your own hairdryer. Whilst one is supplied, it was very weak and located in the bathroom which isn’t very convenient.|Take mosquito spray! I didn’t get bitten last few times we have been away but we were eaten alive in our time here.|There is no shallow end in the pools. My son was not confident swimming when he could not touch the floor, I thought this was going to be issue but luckily he soon got over it and is now a fully fledged swimmer.|Take your own inflatables!|If you want a spa treatment, negotiate with the guy that comes around the pool side, I got a great deal. My spa experience was AMAZING. It’s worth the money, treat yourself!|There is a shuttle boat that takes you into town (not sure which one!) it’s a couple of times a day most days but it was so hot on our stay we didn’t want to be stranded there for hours. Only too late did I realise on a Tuesday it was every 30 mins, which we would have done first thing in the morning when it was cooler. So check that out as soon as you arrive to make your plans, as we missed out.||All in all our stay at Liberty Fabay was flawless, we had no issues or problems. Everything was thought of, the comfy padded sun beds, the Wifi worked well everywhere, the entertainment was non stop, pool games, pool parties, kids inflatable evening, live music etc etc. Make sure your stay includes a Saturday when they have their Cappadocia party, it’s great fun! Beach is beautiful, such gorgeous views. Adults only pool is SO relaxing. Slides are great fun. ||This hotel has got everything covered, and really does go above and beyond, you absolutely will not regret booking! We never go back to the same place, but I was absolutely tempted to book Fabay next year. We are trying somewhere new but I think one day we...
Read moreWe are currently on day 2 of our stay, and unfortunately, there are already so many disappointing aspects that we can confidently say we wouldn’t return to this hotel.
The rooms facing the passage are extremely noisy – getting a good night’s sleep is difficult. Service is only really present in the restaurants; elsewhere, it’s practically nonexistent. At the pool and beach, it’s entirely self-service. Occasionally someone passes by at the pool, but they often forget the orders.
The area around the pool is dangerously slippery – we’ve nearly slipped multiple times, which is especially concerning with children. Trash is not cleaned up at the beach; guests eat there, and leftovers stay out in the sun until the evening. That’s unacceptable in a hotel of this supposed standard.
Toilets are scarce – you have to walk quite a distance from the beach or pool to find one. In the room, there’s no way to hang towels, and the bathroom has almost no shelving or storage space – very inconvenient. No beach bag is provided either. When we asked, we were told we could use the laundry bag instead. We had to go out and buy one ourselves – again, disappointing for this price level.
The food is okay – tasty but mostly basic, standard dishes. It does not feel like a true “Ultra All Inclusive” experience at all. You can feel that staffing is being cut wherever possible – whether in service, bars, or general support.
Now, for some positives: the hotel is new, nicely decorated, with a large pool area and a beautiful sea. Also, Fethiye is a wonderful town – we’re here for the fourth time.
That said, we stayed at Liberty Lykia two years ago, and that was truly a dream. If the service there is still as excellent as it was back then, we would definitely prefer returning there instead. The comparison really highlights how much this hotel is overhyped and overpriced for the quality it actually delivers.
Sadly, this stay doesn’t meet expectations – and certainly not at this price point.
Short Update on Day 4: Things Have Only Gotten Worse
By now, we can say it very clearly: we regret booking this hotel. And it’s not just about a few bad days or isolated mistakes – it’s the entire system here that doesn’t work.
The staff – almost across the board – seem frustrated, overwhelmed, or outright uninterested. Some even openly complain about their work or the guests. Tonight during dinner, a staff member made a rude comment in Turkish about us sitting at a four-person table – without realizing I understood everything. That alone says enough about the atmosphere and attitude here.
Today we tried the main restaurant for dinner since the adults-only restaurant offers very limited choice. But even in the adults-only section, there’s only one staff member who’s remotely friendly or communicative. Most look like they’d rather be anywhere else than serving guests.
At the pool, yes, someone now walks by more often to take drink orders – but even then, things are forgotten, or missing, and no one seems to care.
To top it off, during lunch today, a manager came to our table while we were actively eating to ask whether we were enjoying the hotel. It was awkward, disruptive, and felt completely disconnected from reality. How could we even begin to list all that’s wrong with this place in a casual interruption mid-meal?
This isn’t a matter of “giving feedback” and hoping things improve. This is about a hotel that fundamentally runs on a broken system – with insufficient staff, poor training, and zero sense of hospitality. There is no real effort to create a welcoming or relaxing guest experience – just a polished surface covering up deep structural issues.
We travel once a year, we chose what was marketed as a high-quality resort, and we spent a lot of money on this stay. What we received in return is nowhere near what was promised – not in quality, not in service, not in value.
We are deeply disappointed and will...
Read moreWelcome - a really nice touch being greeted at the door and the drinks on arrival. Would have been nice to have a bit more info about the hotel such as a map print out with key areas, dining areas etc. pointed out. Rooms - We booked a large family room with direct pool access via stairs. The rooms were lovely and modern with a good amount of storage. Shower was great but I would recommend bringing your own shampoo, conditioner and perhaps shower gel. The balcony was on the small side with 2 sun loungers, a table and 2 chairs crammed on. Think it would have been better without the table and chairs. Kekova - I hadn’t requested a particular area but was glad we got placed in the Kekova block. The swim up bar was great, although think it could benefit from a blender for a wider range of drinks. The regular bar man here was great and especially good with the kids. I had a major issues with sunbeds in this block unfortunately. The beds would all be reserved by 8am with most days only finding a free one after 2/3pm in the afternoon. The majority wouldn’t be occupied and it did cause a few awkward moments between myself and other guests, which shouldn’t have been the case. I raised this with hotel management and was reassured the beds, even in Kekova, are not to be reserved and the towels would be removed but I never seen this happening, which was disappointing. There were only 2 days out of the 10 I was there I was able to get a bed. Main pool - we used the main pool a few times but we stayed during the heat wave and found the pool like bath water, so not great for cooling down. The pool party was great fun! Entertainment- we seen a few of the shows, but not as many as we would have liked as the kids were always exhausted but the ones we seen were amazing. Always to a high standard and wish we had seen more. Buffet - The food was faultless. We really enjoyed every meal but can see how it could start becoming repetitive towards the end of the stay. Breakfast was especially good with the crepes and donuts. A la carte - the snack restaurant was excellent and I especially enjoyed the Stromboli. I found it is in the sit down restaurants you see how good the waiters are as start to build more of a relationship with the staff and they were especially good with the kids. We ate in the Italian as our free meal but felt it was not something we would want to pay for. Beach - The beach is stunning but as it was extremely hot when we visited we didn’t manage a full day at the beach. We did spend a few evenings at the beach bar when the DJ was on and this was awesome. Slides - The slides are so much fun and huge! With 5/6 different slides. The lifeguards were great and very aware of everyone’s safety. It’s a shame they didn’t open a bit longer… Cleanliness - the cleaners were fantastic all around the complex and especially the daily cleaners of the room. Always very friendly and did an excellent job. Doctor - As mentioned, my son had to attend the doctor and he was fantastic. Even ringing the hospital for advice, ringing three different pharmacy’s to source the medication and even going to collect it and bring it back to the hotel. The only thing I would recommend is making sure you bring extra cash for this as only the doctor fee could be paid by card. Photography - I used the photographer on our last night and got some amazing family photos. Paid £30 for 4 print outs as well as the digital copies which I felt was worth it. I did feel due to the heat wave we missed out on taking part in some activities, obviously nothing to do with the hotel. We did spend a few days in the indoor pool which was a great way to cool down and keep the kids out of the sun for a while. On-site shops - as expected, these are more expensive than outside the hotel, some items stupidly so. I would recommend the discount supermarket across the road. Overall, a fantastic holiday and looking forward to...
