We recently stayed at Porto Bello Resort & Spa in Antalya, and unfortunately, the experience fell far below what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel. While there were a few positives, the overwhelming number of issues made our stay stressful, frustrating, and disappointing.
Positives: The hotel looks nice overall, and the rooms are clean and well-furnished. Beds are large and comfortable, though the sheets are low quality and irritating on the skin. The pool is big and clean. A few staff members (especially foreign workers from Southeast Asia) were polite, helpful, and professional.
Negatives: Reception & Parking: From the start, the staff at reception were rude and uninterested. When we asked about parking, we were directed vaguely to a back alley behind a taxi stand. It didn't look like private hotel parking—there was no signage, no security, and no hotel staff present. After failing to find a spot, we returned and were told to park on the street. We weren’t allowed to stop in front of the hotel, even though there was space. The staff didn’t lift a finger to help—no valet, no solution, no interest. Completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone a 5-star. Pool Area: Though the pool is large, there are far too few sunbeds. If you don’t reserve one with a towel by 8:00 AM, you’ll find none left—despite signs saying towel reservations aren’t allowed. Staff does absolutely nothing to enforce this, and you end up watching rows of “reserved” beds sit unused for hours. Beach: The beach area is overcrowded and small. The entrance to the sea is extremely rocky, making it hard to walk in. There's no dock or ladder. The beach bar is essentially a small shack, run by one overwhelmed employee, offering a very limited drink selection. Sunbeds are packed together and uncomfortable. Rooms & Service: Despite having a kettle and tea in the room, we weren’t given mugs or cups. When we called reception, we were told to go get paper cups from the bar ourselves—they wouldn’t send anything to the room. Also, sound isolation is terrible: we could hear normal conversation from the neighboring bathroom/toilet, word for word. Not what you expect from any decent hotel. Restaurant & Food: The restaurant is far too small for the number of guests. Every meal is a mess of long lines and chaotic crowding. Variety of food is okay, but only 2–3 dishes were actually good, and those always had 20–30 people waiting in line. Waiting 10–15 minutes for BBQ in a 5-star, all-inclusive resort is absurd. Desserts looked amazing, but almost all tasted awful—just overly sweet and artificial. Drinks: The bar’s non-alcoholic cocktails were especially disappointing—just extremely sweet mixes with no real flavor. Unpleasant and poorly made. Facilities & Activities: The hotel advertises a range of activities, but most are limited or unavailable. Darts is available only twice a day for an hour. The water slide works just 4 hours daily. There’s only one table tennis table for the whole resort. They advertise a tennis court, but when we asked, they told us there is no tennis court. They have been renting the state court, and due to price increase they don't anymore since the start of 2025, so no tennis. Yet it’s still on their booking page. It's misleading and dishonest. Elevators: There aren’t enough elevators for the size of the hotel. Expect to wait 2–3 minutes minimum, and during peak hours we waited up to 7–8 minutes. For a tall building packed with guests, this becomes a major frustration quickly. Staff in General: Besides a few standout employees, most of the staff—especially Turkish staff—were disinterested, unfriendly, and unprofessional. No smiles, no service attitude. We constantly felt like we were bothering them just by asking for basic things.
Final Verdict: Porto Bello Resort & Spa might look like a 5-star resort in photos, but it absolutely does not deliver on even the most basic expectations. We would not return and do not recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing,...
Read moreLet’s start off with the hotel itself ; when we arrived we were greeted with a smile from all staff, from the moment we stepped through the doors to the moment we were escorted with our luggage to our rooms & throughout our whole stay. That was a great start for our holiday. Although the rooms may be outdated to other peoples taste but honestly it was fine as we had an amazing view (great for the sunsets & sunrises which I will upload). However the house keeping could be more mindful with the cleaning of the room as my friend had to clean the room with them as they were not cleaning well for what I would expect at a 5* hotel.Room service: We ordered a few things from the menu which came promptly and fresh. We had the option to pay for it then and there with cash in Lira or Euro. Or you could pay at the end of your leave. Amenities: At the time of visiting, the outside pool was closed as this was not the season time but if you do do come at peak times , they have a water slide for the outdoor pool. Spa area on the lower ground was clean. I didn’t use it myself but I had a wonder around and saw that it was being maintained well. You have these towel cards given to you at the time of checking in which you can exchange for towels and you return the towel for your cards to use next time. Bare in mind, if you lose these cards by checking out time you’ll have to pay 10€ each card. So don’t lose them!Restaurant: We opted for the inclusive system, which was well worth it for a relaxing stress free holiday. Each meal time and day was full of different varieties and catered to different diets. The wait staff were lovely and always eager to help. However they could smile a bit more (50% of the men, they look a bit grumpy). The fruit was what I love most mainly because I love fruit but also because the flavours were so fresh and cut in front of you.The drinks from the bar in the main reception area are also part of the inclusive system, for someone who does not drink alcoholic drinks, the bar staff were lovely to point out what was permissible for me to drink and gave me recommendations based on what flavours I like.Location: The hotel is easy to get to from Antalya airport by taxi or public transport. If you really want to get to know the area get the local public transport. But make sure you have your location on and use your maps on your phone wisely as you can get lost. Most of the drivers do not know English so come prepared with Google translate. You have to get the tram and then a bus, then it’s a 10 min walk to the hotel from the main road. You can buy a antalyakart at the airport or use a prepaid travel contactless card ( uk revolut or post office) . It was less than 20 liras in total which is around 85p at the time of this post. The taxi takes around £35/40 one way. So you can guess which method of transport I preferred. To get around : There are taxis which you can grab from outside the hotel & also from the hotel the bus stop on the main road, takes you to various destinations, either backwards to the main city for shopping food etc or you can head further out to Kemer and Finike for days out etc but make sure you have cash for the kemer buses. When you want to get off the bus on the Kemer buses make sure you come to the front of the bus to the driver a few min ahead of your stop and you pay when you leave but remember the name of the stop you got on at cause that’s how they calculate how much your journey was.Or if you’re just a beach person, you can walk to your hearts content alongside the beach path which is less than 3 mins from the hotel entrance . There’s lots of cats and dogs walking along too, very friendly.Wifi connection service is great. For getting out and about definitely get a SIM card at the airport, found Vodafone to be price worthy for 25g. It lasted me for a whole week with 8g left over.Special thanks to Yasin & Ahmet at reception for helping us with all of...

Staff was amazing and helpful, also they've immediately served us what we've asked for, they quickly took our dirty dishes
Beach is next to the hotel, there's an underground tunnel so we don't have to cross the road.
Great selection of cocktails, drinks, juices, ice cream was also available.
Comfortable and modern room with great view to the pool and the beach, sunrise was also visible from our room.
Comfortable bed, we got a room with a queen bed inside (they call it double bed), it was at least 180cm wide and 200cm long, maybe even bigger, we didn't measure, but for sure it was wider than our 160cm wide one at home.
USB ports on the wall to charge your stuff easily.
Air conditioning was great, the temperature in the room was enjoyable (although it was a bit tricky, it turns off automatically as soon as you open the door to the balcony, but that's fine)
Food was delicious, there were also Mexican days, Sushi days, seafood days.
There was a bar at the beach which also provided food during lunchtime, so we didn't have to to back to the hotel to have a refreshing drink.
Sunbeds were comfortable and we've always found some free sunbeds.
There were music at the swimming pool all day, and there were some events every night at the stage.
Daytime events (happening everyday) were also great, e.g. Darts, Water Volley, etc.
Option to borrow a towel that can be taken to the beach.
BEWARE of some of the surrounding bars outside of the hotel, make sure to check the reviews before entering any of them as some of those are not tourist friendly, e.g. Beach De La’casa, I don't recommend, the view is beautiful there but there is no service, no hygiene, and charge ~€10 for a single cocktail. I recommend on the other hand the drinkable coconuts that you can buy in some beach markets 1-2km away from the hotel, they are delicious and sweet.
Con: In our last 3 days, the cleanup of the room happened in the late afternoon, one day we were also out of toilet papers because of that. They've missed completely the cleanup one day during our stay, but after asking for the cleanup on the reception, they've done that urgently without any charge.
We missed the vacuuming in our room, the floor was a bit dusty sometimes.
The location of the hotel was beautiful and the view was also amazing, however on the other hand, we were a bit on the edge, we had to walk ~1km to reach any beach markets or bars.
We've been there for 8 nights, there were some differences in the food selection but not that much what we've expected.
People were allowed in the restaurant with swimming dress and with swimbelt, which is fine for the outdoor / beach restaurant but not for the one inside. It's a restaurant, not a beach.
Some group of people were so incredibly loud in the indoor restaurant that we couldn't enjoy our food sometimes, some moderation could be great. Also, small children were running around, within the rows, and it's dangerous. Again, it's a restaurant, people should behave accordingly.
The beach was not sandy, it was full of stones.
The outside events have completely ended at 11pm, the music was also shut down, sitting there outside, listening to some music and drinking your cocktails was not possible after 11pm. There was a nightclub afterwards, but that's different as it's happening indoor.
On our side, only 2 elevators was working out of 3, and sometimes we needed to wait 5 minutes there for an...
