We stayed at AQI Pegasus World in Side for 7 nights of a planned 10 night stay and unfortunately came away very disappointed. This hotel could have been so much more, but it fell short in almost every key area.||||Food & Dining||Yes, there is a vast amount of food on offer at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but quantity does not equal quality. Almost everything was repetitive, bland, and poorly prepared. If you like stew, you’ll be very happy – because it seemed to feature every day in one form or another. Beyond that, choice was minimal, and the quality so low that our entire party barely ate.||This meant a 15 minute taxi / bus into the nearest town Sidé at €15 each way to ensure that we could eat a meal. ||I will mention on the last day we did walk 20 minutes the other direction to find a pharmacy and located a really lovely restaurant called the Pine Side Restaurant that sold an array of food that had been cooked beautifully, however we had paid for an all inclusive experience and although expecting to maybe eat out once or twice during our stay we had not planned to eat and drink outside of the hotel for 3 meals and snacks per day! ||||The children’s facilities in the buffet are worth mentioning – a dedicated toilet station, snack bar, and child-sized tables and chairs with cutlery is a thoughtful touch. Sadly, the food let this down. Our 18-month-old ended up eating pizza and chips for lunch and dinner for all 10 nights because there simply wasn’t anything else suitable.||||The hotel also has three à la carte restaurants, which on paper sounds great, but each only offered three choices of starters, mains, and kids’ meals. They were always completely empty during our stay – unsurprising when the options were so uninspiring. That left everyone in the main buffet, which was overcrowded, noisy, and chaotic, with little space awareness from other guests. It felt more like a canteen than a holiday dining experience.||||Rooms & Cleanliness||We paid for a partial sea view at the time of booking, but on arrival were told we could only have a ground-floor room. This came with a hedged outdoor seating area directly on the main walkway to the pool, meaning we had zero privacy as people walked past all day long.||||The room itself was another disappointment. Cleanliness was poor throughout our stay. New towels were delivered, but the old ones were not taken away. Items were clearly not cleaned properly – just pushed into corners – and on some days the room wasn’t touched at all. For a hotel of this size and rating, the lack of basic housekeeping was shocking.||||The bathroom had only a shower fitted with porcelain tiles, which became incredibly slippery when wet. Trying to shower our baby was like a slip-and-slide situation – absolutely not safe for families with young children especially when we had been placed into a family suite!||||Facilities & Service||There are plenty of sunbeds, but if you want a decent spot you’ll need to be up at 5 a.m. to claim one. Otherwise, you’re left with poor options later in the day.||||Service across the hotel was equally poor. Staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful, and issues weren’t addressed. At one point, we woke up to find cigarette ash covering our clothes and belongings left to dry outside – clearly dropped from the balcony above. For a family resort, this kind of experience is unacceptable.||||There are so many different levels and steps to this place, that it actually baffles me that they class this place as family friendly. If you have a push chair expect to be lifting it up and down steps pretty much every direction you turn, there are ramps in places but 9/10 not the most convenient or it forces you to add another 10 minutes to you walk especially when trying to navigate to the other side of the “lake sized” pool area. The “canteen” area is also on the first floor, meaning you either have to go up steps or go in the one lift they have in that area, which is barely big enough for a push chair and too adults. With the sheer amount of families with pushchairs at this resort you can only imagine what the queue for the lift was like at dinner time.||||There are also different stations scattered across the site such as a smoothie station ( which is not free) although made to look like it’s part of the hotel this was an extra and was not clearly identified. ||There are several ice cream stations plotted however, only one of these stations are free, so please do not get caught out on this! ||||Medical Support – A Serious Concern||The lowest point of our stay came when our child fell ill during the night. We asked to see the on-site doctor, but instead of assessing her, they spoke only to staff in their own language – even though they clearly spoke English. Without even checking our daughter, they insisted on taking us to a clinic over an hour away, rather than the hospital just 10 minutes from the hotel.||||This left us with no confidence in the medical care at the resort. In the end, we booked a return flight and came home early to get her seen properly. Staff asked no questions when we checked out two days early, and there was zero concern shown for our child’s health. We also spoke with the TUI reps, but sadly they were just as unhelpful.||||Overall||On the surface, AQI Pegasus World looks like a family-friendly resort with lots of facilities, but the reality is very different. The poor food quality and lack of variety meant we barely ate, service was substandard, the rooms were unsafe and not properly cleaned, and the medical support was completely inadequate.||||We came here expecting a fun and relaxing family holiday, but instead left disappointed, hungry, and cutting our trip short because we had no trust in the hotel’s care or service.||||We would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families with young children, and we certainly will not...
Read moreWon't be returning and wouldn't advice for people to stay. We where really excited to stay here but sadly the reality wasn't quite what we expected.
Good points.. 10/10 landscape. 10/10 cleanliness 10/10 pool 10/10 activities on site.
Bad points.. Barley understood English, especially the reception staff. Which is really unhelpful when the reception staff is ur first point of call when you need help. The only staff that can speak very good English are the people who work in the shops. Who tirelessly try to get you to buy things. I became very ill on holiday and went to the local pharmacy to buy some things. Upon arriving back I couldn't quite work out how to use one of the medication so I ask reception could they help me as the box was obviously all in their language. The girl didn't even try to look she said I don't know talk to doctor.. baring in mind they have a doctor on site and would cost around €300 euro to see him when all she could have done was help to read the box and explain to me the instructions. I personally found this to be absolutely awful. Our aircon barley worked the whole time. Our television kept turning on and off through the night.
The restaurant - had lots of choice but I wouldn't say the quality of what was there was great. The fresh fruit didn't lool quite fresh, especially the bannanas often being half brown. We've been to 3 star hotels where the waitress and waiters offer to bring drinks but they don't do that in this hotel.
We ate 3 times in the Al a carte. Once in each restaurant. Chinese, Turkish and Italian. All 3 was Ridiculous. It was exactly the same food from the upstairs all you can eat buffet but they just made it look fancier 😅. We were shocked tbh and the quality was not great. The Italian didn't offer the usual Italian dishes. None of the Al a cartes did. Very disappointed. Only plus to eating at them is that your not in the busy hassle of the buffet upstairs and they will bring drinks to you're table. Only 1 bar was open by the pool and its in the middle quite far distance to tavel. They had other bars but wasn't ooen the whole time we stayed, only at night time. The free ice cream hut is situated right at the far left back by the beach. I bet we can all guess why it's so far away.. Yet they have a ice cream guy right next to the pool you have to pay for..
The onsite shop - ridiculous prices. €90 for a extra large float. €30 for a pool ring.. They also charge €10 for a box of paracetamol which the pharmacy down the road charges €2 for. 2 packets of haribo €11. We didn't buy q single thing from there and all we heard from other people staying was the same thing. The hard sell of the Turkish bar - it looked lovley but the hard selling they all do is TOO much! We didn't get any treatment as we found it to be very expensive!
Tips I think may be useful for people coming to stay.. You can catch a bus from right outside the hotel which goes to maragavat and side for €1 per person each way. Side bus depot has camel rides there if thats something you're looking to do... If you follow the Crowd and walk past the visitor station and follow to the left it will lead you to the old town where all the replica shops are, the ruins, the apollo (€17 per person) the temple, lots of restaurants and a harbour where all the boat excursions go from. Its around a 20 minutes walk. If you don't fancy walking there is a cart you can catch which costs €2 per way not per person which seats 5 people. You will need to take a right turn after you past the visitor centre walk up the hill a little and the carts will be situated right there. Maravagat - has a massive market, this is also where the river is so you can catch river cruise from here. But if you look online nearly all excursions offer hotel pick up and drop off. If you come out of the hotel and follow to the right, a 10 minute walk you will come to an area with shops and restaurants also a pharmacy. Had to keep this short so if you have any questions about local area then message me and I will help...
Read moreA huge hotel with many pools, waterslides, many beathside bars, excellent food and entertainment.|We went with TUI but land you really late (the hotel is almost 2 hours bus ride away from Antalya airport, after a 5 hour flight from Dublin), so you're really late for dinner. (The hotel give you a sorry looking sandwich if you ask for it. In fairness, the manager did arrange some fruits after we insisted on something nutritious after the loooong journey to get there). But no chance of a hot meal after 9pm.|The flight back is also really early (We had to wake up at 3am. This is on TUI not the hotel) so you dont make any use of the last day either. (Word of warning : Antalya airport is crazy expensive for food - even a sandwich is 14 EUR.)|The rooms in Pegasos World Hotel are quite basic and cramped (we didnt have the 'deluxe' rooms ...which are appaently better) ... I am talking 3 star quality.|Nonetheless, everything else is top class.|* Pools and waterslides : WOW. So many varied pools, well maintained, attention to safety, (attentive lifeguards). Just hours and hours of nonstop fun.|* Bars everywhere: You are never far away from a drink. Yes, the drinks are a little watered down but I reckon thats because they dont want people getting drunk during the day or throwing up all over the place. At night, during the minidisco, the drinks are stronger|* Water stations everywhere too|* Beach towels available and you can change them everyday|* Speaking of which, the beach seems part of the hotel and is a short walk (I'm talking a couple of mins) away. With sunbeds, beach bar (thats part of all-inclusive) and water station. The beach is mostly empty because everyone is at the pools so a great place to go if you prefer tranquility.|* Food: Varied and excellent. Amazing desserts especially. A specific vegan section (thats NOT just salads) for breakfast lunch and dinner|* Overall the vibe and atmosphere is kept lively and friendly. Constant music but you can also get away from it to a quieter section if you like. The place is huge.|* Yes, sunbeds get reserved early. I woke up at 4 am to find most front row sunbeds reserved already but for some sections (like the kids water park and waterslide section) - they open at 10 am and the queue there at 9:45 is not massive so you can reserve a sunbed there.|* Decent gym and indoor pool. |* There are shops in the hotel too if you want to grab some decent brand name knock off shirts, shoes, handbags, etc. All decently priced (we walked to the local markets thinking that we'd get a better deal but really shouldnt have bothered - the prices are mostly the same)|* In the reception area there is a lovely refreshment section (free of course). Try the hibiscus water there - its lovely.|* Electric car charging station is available in the parking lot.|* You can rent quad bikes, cars and little buggys and the like from the hotel.|* We had a couple of small issues with the room - locker was locked and a small issue with the sink and both got resolved quickly enough when we called reception.|* There is a barber in the hotel but its not overly cheap|* There is a shop to buy pool and beach toys, towels, swimsuits and whatnot|* Mini disco, kids club, entertainment are all very very good.|* Lots of friendly cats around if you like cats. If you dont, they stay out of the way.|* Great little innovations for kids. For example, at reception, there is a 'Kids checkin in' with steps so kids can feel part of the checkin process. At the restaurant, there is a dedicated kid's buffet with low counters, plastic plates, and low kid sized seats.|* While we were there, they arranged an evening with kids bouncy castles, popcorn and such, another day with a pool party for kids etc. - they try and think of things like that.|* Free (for all inclusive customers of course but then everyone is all inclusive) soft ice cream station but you have to walk a bit . There are also paid ice cream stations close to the pools and not overly expensive.||My recommendation: Go for it!!...
