So we stayed June 4-11 as 2 adults (first time on our own since our HoneyMoon!)||We had stayed at Lara Barut previously so knew that the standard was high. |We were greeted warmly and given the keycard to the room with bags to follow. |When we walked in we had 2 single beds and a view over another building (the view I will come back to)||I went back to Reception and they advised they could push them together but that wasn’t really what I wanted so was shown another room with |a King Size bed (they call it a French bed)|Bags then arrived by the bell boy. ||So. The view. |We booked a Land View Room which has pictures of trees and rolling hills on the website. |This did not!! It was over another building with vents etc HOWEVER we never sit on the balcony and only use it for drying swimwear so I can’t knock a point off for that as didn’t affect us but may well bother others. |The room (1405) was super quiet, great black out curtains, effective air conditioning and all the mod cons you expect. |The bathroom is small but totally functional. ||We used the Pier as our main location each day as beautiful breeze and bar at the end (no alcohol at this one)|Short walk back to the toilets and other bar. ||I unfortunately have a teeny tiny bladder so use the toilets a lot and they were immaculate at all times. |Floor mopped so no wet patches to slip on. ||We did dip in the pool and my husband used the slides 🤣 (definitely tamer than the ones at Lara)||We had breakfast in the buffet and the selection was vast. All you could ask for and more. ||Lunch we tended to go to BONSAI where you could eat off a menu and also a nice choice of salads and fruit. ||Ice cream man next door which was a bonus, WALLS with varying flavours. ||We booked in to the 3 Al a Carte restaurants. ||PETUNYA… beautiful setting and food. Was really the only time I wasn’t blown away by the staff as they seemed rushed and didn’t take time to explain what was what, yet it didn’t ruin the meal. ||AKASYA… again fabulous food and this time the staff were on it!!! Super attentive and helpful ||MIMOZA… as above!!||The only place we didn’t eat was at the BURGER place but that was out of choice. ||In the day you can go to BEGONYA and a lady makes Pide (Turkish flatbread) to order. She’s hidden in the corner and you wouldn’t know she’s there so definitely worth a try. ||Drinks etc were all great, cocktails a plenty too. ||I think for us what stood out was the staff. |They are all so helpful, genuine and caring. |The manager has a huge presence and one afternoon we’d come off the pier for a drink and I was using my portable fan, he immediately offered to put the fans on in the bar. |That was a lovely gesture. ||The evening entertainment is not my bag at all but my husband loves it as to him that’s part of the holiday. They were hardly Cirque Du Soleil or a Broadway show but an easy watch. |On the Tuesday night they had a light show which was enjoyable. ||We did go into Side old town one night and a taxi was organised by reception. ||All in all was fantastic. We never go back to the same place twice as I feel there are so many hotels to choose from however I wouldn’t hesitate to return to another Barut as standard is excellent. ||We have both worked in customer services roles all our lives so do believe in tipping. I took Euros and reception changed these into coins for us with no issues. ||If I had to be super picky … ||People saving sunbeds 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️|Don’t really know how you get around it but one day the beds next to us on the pier had towels on them for 5 hours before someone arrived. |It’s selfish by the guest but maybe something that could be looked at. ||Also you could only change the towels between a certain time by that Spa which was slightly inconvenient. I do understand why as otherwise you’ll be washing loads unnecessarily but maybe have 2 locations .. spa and nearer the beach. ||And the final one is more of an observation…|The beach is across from a public walkway (where you can walk into Town) |I found it odd you didn’t need your keycard to access back to the hotel. |From a security point of view more than anything. |Thinking back to what happened in Tunisia some years ago anyone could wander into any hotel. |Now I know I’m probably over thinking but thought it worth noting. ||I am still happy to give 5⭐️ as do feel it’s...
Read moreWe have just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Barut Arum. The resort was the perfect size and layout, with every facility within easy reach. ||The hotel is extremely well maintained across all areas, you can actually smell the fragrant cleaning agents as you walk around. ||We arrived at the hotel late evening, greeted by warm friendly staff, offering us a drink, whilst we completed our check in form and asked if we wanted to use the restaurant. In no time at all we were escorted to our room on the 4th floor in the main building, overlooking the pool. The room was a good size, mixture of modern and contemporary, which was the decor throughout the resort. We had chocolates and fruit in our room, a small fridge filled with water and soft drinks, replenished every day. Guests are also provided with a beach bag, robes and slippers. ||The hotel has 3 a la carte restaurants, being Asian, Turkish and international, which was personally our favourite. The food is of a good quality, well presented and plentiful. The international is in the main building, a really classy restaurant. The Asian is situated outside overlooking the pool and the Turkish is in a great location overlooking the seafront, which is lovely at sunset. There is also the buffet restaurant with a great selection of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also dine at the Bonsai for lunch, which we did most days and there is also a burger bar, which becomes the Asian restaurant at night. The patisserie offers a fantastic selection of lovely cakes, biscuits, sandwiches, coffee, tea and my favourite being macarons. ||The drinks are of a good quality with an endless selection of premium branded alcohol, if you have a preference, just ask for it. The wine across all the restaurants in my opinion is of a good quality, whether it be the white, rose or red. You have the option to purchase other wines at an extra cost. ||The evening entertainment caters for all, with a band playing in the pool bar and always a show in the auditorium. ||There is a bar situated in the lobby, on the seafront and around the pool, all serving a variety of drinks. ||The grounds of the hotel are immaculate with staff working endlessly to maintain them and they look great. ||The housekeeping staff do a fabulous job of cleaning the rooms, always fresh towels with shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided in large bottles . We had the decorative shapes on our bed, created with petals and towels. ||The children’s entertainment was amazing, with various events taking place throughout the day and shows in the early evening. ||It’s a flat walk into Side along the beachfront, which is worth a visit. There is a harbour the ancient ruins, lots of eateries and endless shops. ||I want to thank the following staff for going above and beyond to make our experience at Barut Arum so special. AMBER who works in front of house was exceptional and could not do enough to help us. She is English, so there were no issues with communication. Our travel agent called HEIDI at TUI holiday hypermarket encouraged us to book this holiday, after being hesitant due to a bad experience at a Barut hotel last year. HEIDI took it upon herself to ring the hotel and liaised direct with AMBER about the situation. AMBER upgraded our room and made my birthday celebrations so special. There was a cake in the room, fruit and champagne served in the international restaurant prior to dinner. She made our stay just perfect. ||TAMARA in guest relations was also wonderful, she secured our a la carte reservations for the week, including breakfast in the international restaurant, where we went on 2 occasions. TAMARA also came to check on us throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble. ||CANER in the lobby bar took such a pride in his work, creating the most fabulous drinks. His customer service really stood out. ||ALL the staff across the resort were AMAZING and so attentive. I genuinely got the impression they loved their work and were proud to be part of the Barut Arum team. Thank you all for making our holiday a wonderful experience and restoring my faith in the premium...
Read moreI never write reviews but after staying at the Arum Barat Collection I wanted to come and give my honest feedback. My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in July 2023. The weather was 31degrees at its lowest and 36 degrees at its highest during our stay. We do not have children so often avoid “family friendly” hotels, however we found the experience here to be true to 5star standards and the facilities were spacious enough for us to find quiet spots away from the playing children and splashing water. Let’s begin with the location, it’s about 1 hour from Antalya International Airport and we decided to use a private tour company (Hana) travel as their quote was cheaper than booking through our airline and the hotel. The hotel is located in a town called Side with the main centre about 10 minute away by cab, we went and explored the ancient ruins (Apollon Theatre) and local harbour which made for a nice day trip.
In terms of food, I am vegan and must admit the variety was limited but still WAY better than what I’ve experienced at other all inclusives around the world. The fact that they even had a dietary code on each dish at the buffet, with specific signs for vegan made me feel so welcomed! :) Breakfast was amazing, my husband eats everything and trust me the variety is fab. The hotel acknowledge that not everyone wakes up to eat at 7am, so they have an extended “late breakfast” from 10-11am. That was fab for us as we often like to sleep in. For dinner the buffet restaurant was on point and we also tried 2 different al la cart restaurants ( Petunya & Akasya) which didn’t disappoint. On the first night it was my husband’s birthday and they were nice enough to reserve us a table at Petunya with a view overlooking the beach and special floral arrangements with surprise cake (all free of charge). I loved the fact that even after the dinner buffet ended, there’s a late night snack service and 24hour lounge where you can play pool or just relax without the disturbance of any disco music nearby.
In terms of our room, we were on the 5th floor with a main sea view. The room is modern with all the amenities of a 5 star hotel, nespressso machine etc and lovely rainfall shower head. The towels were changed daily, mini bar was restocked daily and the room service was always quick without delay.
Last but not least, the beach is literally less than 3 minutes walk from the hotel and yes it has some stones but there is plenty of golden sand along with 100+ sun beds to lounge on. Once you get into the ocean, the stones fall away and it’s just sand.
Thanks to Hasan at Bonsai restaurant who made our stay extra special by always attending to us and ensuring we had everything we needed.
All in all, we will definitely be coming back to this resort next year as the staff, service and food are all exceptional. Well done to the team at Arum...
