Upon arrival at The Sense Delux after checking in approximately 10.00pm we went to our room. We looked around as you do and we're extremely shocked to find that one could see each other whilst sitting on the toilet having a bowel movement or urinating. The glass panels were practically through!! This made me and my wife very uncomfortable with our personal privacy when nature calls. To add more concern the balcony was completely overlooked by a main road by cars, buses and coaches. As we are Muslims that clearly infringes on my wife's privacy as she would have been unable to sun bath in her costume. We immediately went to reception and vented our frustration they said that majority of the guests are European and did seem to complain as they have differentmoral values. That the TUI reps has checked the hotel for the benefit of TUI Holiday guests clearly not for Muslim people. The reception staff both Muslim men apologised for the rooms toilet impropriety and agreed it was unacceptable from an Islamic Moral perspective. We requested a room change immediately and better privacy of the Balcony. They said they could not promise us anything as they were fully booked but would try tomorrow. We went down again next morning at 8.00am for further help and with no real positive outcome from Hotel Reception we walked over to Guest Relations and made our complaint to a woman called Irham. She managed to get us the hotel room that was morally appropriate, having been told only earlier by reception that there were no rooms available. To make up for the stress I booked a Cabana for 75 euros for a day from 10.00am to 6.00 pm. Upon our arrival to the Cabana we were met with a dirty Cabana with no clean towels only tray of fruit and no cold complementary alcohol free drinks. We had no teas or coffee or food served as we had to walk 300 yards back on to the beach restaurant every time with no waiter service, even the toilets are like 300 yards away. We asked the bar staff about the Cabana service and they said that they did not offer any, we were extremely disappointed so left the Cabana approximately 12.30pm back to our room. Further more minibar was never filled up in the room, had to ring and request every day, the guy at the reception called Muamer made a lot of promises but got nothing done. Limited choice of food at the buffet dinner services, food bland and sloppy. Spa area pool is for spa users but others would come with alcoholic drinks and take over the area, deck chairs near the pool area were never available as guests would drop their towels first thing in the morning and reserve the chairs and disappear till a later time. All in all a terrible level of service and 3 Star hotel definitely not worth the 5 Stars advertised. I wonder how they earned the 5 star status. Also forgot to mention we had to pay an extra 360 Euro for the better room!! The Clientele at hotel are three stars. Avoid this hotel at all cost. Not suitable at all for...
Read moreI’ll start with the good. ||Hotel is spotless|Food is fantastic and so much to choose from, all hot and fresh. |Rooms are clean and are cleaned daily by very hardworking staff. |Pool is clean and plenty of sunbeds. |Beach area is lovely no faults at all and the food at the beach again is really good, especially the stuffed breads that are made to order in front of you. ||The not so good. ||60% of that staff did not make us feel welcome, I understand the language barrier but it’s rude when you can clearly tell you are being spoken about or laughed at. The rest of the staff are fantastic, wish I knew names. |Not enough animation team or activities at all, it needs some more atmosphere throughout the day and the nighttime, just to make the holiday more fun. |Not a fan of the reception staff either, found they were a bit rude, although set that aside they did help when needed and it could have just been the language barrier. ||Fowl smell in the room which I mentioned on a number of occasions and nothing was done, we just dealt with it in the end as you only get ready and sleep in the room. ||No TV channels if you speak only English. ||Air conditioning, we had to ask for someone to come and look at the aircon in our room on a number of occasions, after asking 3 times someone come and nothing changed, we asked again the following day and someone come, it was slightly better but still not the best compared to our kids room which was nice and cool. ||The hotel itself is far too hot, no air anywhere especially when you are eating, I know it’s a hot country but I’ve never stayed in a hotel that when you walk in it’s still just as hot. Air conditioning needs sorting.||The area, we stayed for 2 weeks and booked a number of excursions which where amazing and not expensive but the only local place really is the old town, if you have a car it would be a lot easier as you could travel out to other destinations. If you’re going to side definitely book the safari jeep and boat trip, it’s amazing and we went twice. ||Overall I think 1 week stay would be plenty here, it is a beautiful hotel and honestly the food is fantastic and the staff in the restaurant work so hard to make sure your looked after. With a few slight changes it could be amazing but sadly I wouldn’t go back, definitely not for children of my kids age 12 and 16, nothing for them...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about my stay. While I can’t fault the room design or cleanliness, a major issue arose with the minibars—there was no alcohol stocked in them. This is particularly disappointing for a hotel promoting itself as ultra-all-inclusive. To make matters worse, the minibar wasn’t even plugged in when I checked. It's supposing checked during the inspect of pre check.
As for the TVs in the upstairs room, neither of them were functioning. On the beach, the bar serves only beer, which left me scratching my head—how can a beach bar offer nothing but beer? However, I must say the dinner was fantastic. Hats off to the Executive Chef and the pastry team; there's truly nothing missing from the meal.
That said, the beverage options were a letdown. They largely feature low-quality brands, and while some drinks are available, they come with an extra charge. It leaves me wondering if I misinterpret what ultra-all-inclusive actually means or if they're experimenting with a new approach.
Moreover, the bar staff seemed quite lost. I asked for a Virgin Mary, and the response was a firm "no." When I asked for a Bloody Mary, they replied "yes" but appeared unsure of the ingredients. When I requested a Bloody Mary without vodka, what I got was essentially water mixed with salt, black pepper, tobacco, and overly acidic tomato juice. Worcestershire sauce was nowhere to be found, and I'm not sure they even knew what it was.
Additionally, the hotel's location didn't position it directly on the beach. Despite the claim that it was only a 5-minute walk away its actualy included an uphill trek on the way back. The hotel did provide a shuttle service to address this, but with only one shuttle available, you end up waiting in line. On a positive note, the hotel is family-friendly, with a nice adult-only section in both the restaurant and pool area.
The beach itself had very rough surf and was quite rocky, with the water appearing cloudy. Would I return? I...
