Lara Kapris Hotel — Hotel in Muratpaşa

I booked a room at Lara Kapris to get a night's sleep after a flight from Istanbul and before taking a bus to Kas the next morning. I found Lara Kapris on booking.com and was conscious of other average reviews on that website, but wanted to book in advance online for cheap. Pros: I managed to get a full night's sleep, and the hotel was able to pick me up from Antalya Airport, late at night. Cons: Not great for connecting to the bus station from the airport as was at least 40 minutes in a taxi each way, and I was unconvinced the transfer fares the hotel car charged me were actually cheaper than standard taxis (my research not so great there), bleach stains on carpet, poor air conditioning which only worked with room key in wall slot (so room was a sauna when I arrived), no coffee for breakfast, and next to no English was spoken...

I booked to stay at the Esperanza Boutique Hotel based on the good tripadvisor reviews, but when I arrived they said that they were full for the first night and took me instead to the Lara Kapris Hotel over the road. They tried to claim it was their “sister hotel”, when in fact it is just an old hotel that I think struggles to get any guests. It was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in since I was a student backpacking around Thailand. It was old, filthy and broken. As others have said the carpets had bleach stains. I stayed 9 nights .hotel was very clean convenient for the beach and most importantly safe.breakfast was much better than you get at many budget hotels.staff very friendly and helpful,fairly close to airport and buses/taxi to centre inexpensive.Turkey is a modern safe country(i never saw a hint of a problem while i was there and the turkish people are generally extremely helpful and friendly) i was pleasantly surprised at how everyone seems to live happily together.i will be going...
