We had not appreciated when booking that Karahayit is not actually part of Pamukkale but a village a few minutes' drive away. The village is full of accommodation and restaurants dedicated to tourists, but quiet in mid October and very much had an interesting village atmosphere. The long street bazaar, open day and evening, catered largely to the locals.|The Otel is family run and with several - including pooch Caramel - involved in the hospitality, the English speaking son being the Front of House.|We were given a free upgrade to a large en suite room with a double and 2 twin beds. Presumably self catering at one time as it had 2 gas rings and a sink + many empty cupboards. The fridge had 2 small cartons, rather than bottles of drinking water. There was a tiny balcony overlooking the outdoor cold swimming and warm thermal pools. |We had booked this partly as it claimed to have a/c, but we were told that we could not have the unit on as it was bad for the climate and not hot!! Whilst we accept that for the locals it may have felt cool in the evenings in mid October, it was actually mild - 18C late evening, and the room was definitely too hot for our comfort. We needed all 3 windows and the balcony door open and eventually the room cooled down - though with the strong sulphurous thermal smell! So do check if you can have a/c when you book.|The large bathroom had an individual thermal bath which we did not use (though used the outdoor one). The hot water in the "ordinary" shower took a long time to run and only gave enough hottish water for 1 comfortable shower (there were2 of us).|The breakfasts were lovely - varied and imaginative, and was one of the best that we had in 3...
Read moreI loved this thermal spa hotel where reminds me of ” Onsen-Ryokan 温泉旅館 (Japanese hot spring inn)". Although this hotel needs a bit upgrade, it's great value for money including an outdoor cute pool with "hot-spring" tub, indoor hot-spring pool in the basement, Hammam, good mountains view and lovely breakfast! Moreover, we can have natural hot-spring water in our private bathtub in our room!!! The breakfast was very good yummy since I had good one in Madrid hotel, Spain 2 years ago... ||A current owner has inherited this hotel from his grand-father, so this hotel is running by his family. That's why we can feel very cozy and warm at this hotel just like we stay at Turkish relative's house. Osman speaks English fluently, who is very friendly and nice guy. He gives us "one-time-FREE ride" to Pamukkale/ Hierapolis. And also his information about sight-seeing spots and local transportation (mini bus, trains, etc.) was very accurate. Moreover, he gave me a ride to Denizli train station from his hotel in Karahayit with a reasonable cost. Well, Osman gave me a good room to have good Wifi connection, too! ||Loved a bazaar of Karahayit which isn't touristic at all! I really wanted to visit such a simple small village town. Finally, I could touch "Turkish Soul"...! | |I definitely recommend you guys this hotel, if you want to heal your broken body and heart! 仕事で疲れ切っていた私の心と身体は、本当に癒されました♥ I wish I could visit again this lovely place...! ||恵 Megumi in...
Read moreI stayed with a friend of mine in September 2023. The room was clean and good size for two.
Thermal spa outside, the temperature was too hot to stay for a long time in the night but good temperature at 11am that I could have stayed inside for 30mins and still didn’t feel too hot. Pool was cold to swim in September. I guess it doesn’t have heat up system. But nice for refreshing after hot spa.
Each room had a hanging space for swim suits and other staffs in balcony. I found it helpful.
In a room, there was thermal water tap to fill a bath tub. I didn’t use but hot thermal water came out. Probably good for couple to have private time there.
Breakfast was good. A lot of amount.
Price was good.
Also in a walkable distance there is a big market that isn’t very touristic so it was cheap to eat, buy and drink…
ABOUT access to Pamukkale hieropolis.
We rented a car and drove to pamukkale hieropilis. It was close. Probably about 12mins. The parking fee at pamukkale hieropolis was 20TL. We parked at south parking and walked all the way up to see everything. To come back to the car, we took a bus from north pamukkale to the south parking. The fare was 30TL each person. Parking and bus ride were cheap.
We parked the car outside the hotel on road.
I totally recommend to stay this place.
Wi-Fi; didn’t work in our room on the second floor. But heard it worked well on the 1st floor. It worked at...
