Hotel: A Journey Back in Time with No Way Forward||||From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this hotel has not seen meaningful refurbishment in decades – it feels stuck in the late 1990s.||The facilities are visibly aged, worn-out and lack any trace of modern luxury. For a so-called 5-star resort, this was frankly disappointing – a solid 3-star rating would be more accurate.||||The capacity is completely mismatched with guest numbers. There are only two lifts for five floors, leading to constant queues and frustration.||The grounds are vast, but woefully signposted – no directional signs anywhere, leaving you wandering aimlessly, which quickly becomes exhausting in the heat.||||The general guest demographic tends to reflect lower middle class standards, and unfortunately, this is noticeable in the overall atmosphere and behaviour.||Additionally, many staff members in the food and beverage areas speak no English, making even basic communication surprisingly difficult.||||Room & Housekeeping: Spacious but Neglected: 2/5||||Our room was spacious, with a balcony, a second bed, and a small sofa – a good start.||But the state of the room quickly turned that optimism into disappointment:||The bathroom was outdated, with visible wear and unsightly spots.||||Housekeeping was inconsistent and superficial. Used towels were removed, but no fresh ones provided – this happened repeatedly.||Marks from sun cream and general dirt remained untouched for days. There was no ashtray on the balcony, so I had to use a glass for cigarette waste – not acceptable for a resort that markets itself as premium.||||For sleeping, there was no proper duvet, only a thin sheet. After requesting something warmer, I was given two more of the same sheets.||To make things worse, the room was extremely noisy – thin walls and hallway noise made quality sleep almost impossible. You can hear everything, including evening entertainment and parties that often continued well past 11 PM. The volume was clearly not adjusted for a hotel setting.||||Pool & Beach: Warm Water, Cold Service: 2/5||||The hotel has two large pools, one of which includes slides for children. A nice idea, in theory – but both pools were far too warm, making it impossible to cool down in the summer heat.||||Each guest receives a “towel card” worth €10 upon check-in. You need this to collect a pool/beach towel and return it at the end of your stay – otherwise, you’ll be charged.||The towels themselves? Small, thin, and soaked after a single use, reflecting poor quality standards.||||There’s a clear sign stating that reserving sunbeds is prohibited, yet everyone does it, and no staff enforces the rule.||Beach loungers are worn-out and uncomfortable – not even close to 5-star quality.||||Dining & Buffet: Quantity Over Quality: 1/5||||The main buffet restaurant is large, but completely overwhelmed. It’s constantly overcrowded, noisy, and chaotic.||Finding a clean, available table is a challenge, and many are left uncleared for too long.||||The food presentation is deceptive – repetitive dishes are split into multiple trays to make the buffet look fuller.||Quality is average at best, often poor.||||At the Turkish theme night, three staff were initially operating the meat skewer station – by the time I reached the front, only one was working while the others stood around or used their phones.||Other live cooking stations were either left unattended, burnt food, or simply not replenished – even 90 minutes before official closing time.||||Cutlery was frequently unavailable, and table service for drinks only happened when specifically requested and chased down.||||The lobby bar was another low point: bartenders had to look up drink recipes in the menu for common cocktails – not something you’d expect at a premium resort.||Coolers at the beach were broken, and all bottled water was warm – I tried several fridges, all with the same result.||||Snack & Beach Dining: No Escape from Mediocrity: 2/5||||In addition to the main buffet, there is a snack bar and a beachside food outlet.||Unfortunately, these do little to improve the situation:||||Menu options are basic, with many items tasting reheated or stale.||Ice cream, which you’d expect to be a safe treat in the summer heat, melted almost instantly and tasted extremely artificial.||||Spa & Wellness: Minimalist and Misleading: 2/5||||The spa facilities are extremely limited for a 5-star resort.||There is only one small Finnish sauna and a tiny steam room – both with minimal capacity. Two showers serve the entire area, and the indoor pool is standard at best.||Everything felt cramped and outdated. I’ve experienced better wellness offerings at mid-range hotels. From a luxury resort, I expected significantly more.||||Entertainment: Some Light in the Darkness: 2/5||||There are nightly live shows which bring some life to the resort – arguably the only redeeming feature.||That said, there were never enough seats, and we were forced to sit on pool loungers to watch the show.||||To make matters worse, the bar near the entertainment area had a foul, overpowering smell – strongly resembling vomit, mixed with chlorine and stale beer.||Sitting near it or ordering a drink? Out of the question.||||Final Verdict: Between Sunburn and System Failure||||The Belconti Resort has potential – but it’s being completely wasted.||From outdated rooms to uninspired service, towel bureaucracy, and overall guest mismanagement, this resort fails on multiple levels.||||The spa is miniature, the noise levels are unacceptable, and comfort is miles below the promised standard.||I have stayed in many 5-star properties – this ranks among the most disappointing.||It urgently needs a full renovation, new leadership, and a total rethinking of its service culture and quality approach!||||As it stands now:||Not recommended. And certainly, never again.||||Overall Rating: 2...
Read moreWe spent a week at the Belconti with our family, 6 adults and 4 children aged 2-5. |We are regular visitors to the Antalya area and chose this hotel because it represented value for money being a large party. |It is quite dated but this was not a problem and the grounds are lovely. We only met one other English family while we were there - again not problem except, and maybe this is just a cultural thing - other guests do not acknowledge any act of courtesy - even our grandchildren stepping aside to let people pass or get out of the pool.|We thought the pools were great, never too crowded but warm by the afternoon which is probably unavoidable the n the temperature regularly hit mid 40s.|We booked the hotel because of the added bonus of the water slides - an absolute must for our very adventurous 4 and 5 year olds. When we arrived, the hotel information sheet stated that children under 12 were not allowed to use them. We were devastated! However, it was soon apparent that many young children were using them with and without adults. With slight trepidation we went up with the children and the life guard high- fived the 4 year old when she got to the bottom! Don't know if the hotel puts this as a disclaimer should there be an accident?? That said we all had great fun spending many hours shooting down the slides.|The Pool Area: |generally quite clean but little flower pot bins often not emptied from the day before.|lots of reserving of sun beds - I'm an early riser and lots of towels down by 7am.|could do with more hours of no or quieter music.|Fridges that provide cartons of water do not work and drink is always lukewarm.|Food:|generally geared more to the Russian, East European guests but we never went hungry and salad and grilled meats were fresh. Often ran out of ice cream flavours. There is nice garden area to eat in outside the buffet but generally it was too warm to take advantage of this.|The beach bar and beach area buffet were pleasant places to sit for lunch.|Found alcohol and wine totally acceptable.|Rooms:|Not modern ,but an ok size and comfortable bed. Rooms appeared clean but wood floor was just swept each day rather than cleaned, which was evident if you looked at the soles of your feet after walking around after a shower!|Air con was so efficient and such a blessing in such high temperatures. |Towels tea, coffee, water replaced regularly.|Staff: |We were rather disappointed with this aspect. Reception on checkin were helpful and friendly, but on checkout just accepted our room key back- didn't ask if we had enjoyed our stay etc. Never experienced this before, I felt dismissed!|Pool bar staff were probably the most unfriendly I have ever encountered in any hotel. To be fair this area is understaffed and lots of wasps around - most bartenders served you as if they were chewing on one!|Beach bar staff in the evening generally friendlier.|Buffet is also understaffed with a delay in cleaning tables and serving drinks. Some staff friendly, others not so.|A super, warm and friendly guy in the buffet near the beach. I am so sorry I don't know his name but made our lunchtimes by making sure we all sat together and remembering our drinks order every day. Belmont management need to note that these sort of touches make a...
Read moreWe stayed at Belconti hotel for 5 days, arriving on Sunday, and overall I have mixed feelings. Having stayed at the Delphin in Turkey a few months ago, our expectations were high, but this hotel did not meet them.
The hotel itself feels outdated. Many facilities and the overall design are old-fashioned and not what you would expect of a 5-star property.
Food was decent in places. The à la carte restaurants and snack options outside the main buffet were enjoyable, but the main restaurant mostly offered fried foods and very few healthy options. Drinks were another disappointment. Alcohol seemed to be the focus, and whenever we asked for soft drinks, they were overly sugary and syrupy—nothing fresh. If you don’t drink alcohol, water is your safest choice.
On the plus side, the hotel has plenty of daytime activities. Evening entertainment, however, was inconsistent. The Monday dance show was fantastic and engaging, but other nights felt random and unpolished.
The professional photography service was excellent and probably the highlight of our stay. The staff running it were outstanding, and the photos were beautiful.
As a person of colour, however, I must say the experience was uncomfortable. My family and I, being an ethnic minority, were constantly stared at by other guests. One family even pointed at us while speaking in their own language, which was very unpleasant. You will stand out here, and it can feel unwelcome.
Another major downside is smoking. Although this is advertised as a child-friendly hotel, people smoked everywhere. We only saw one no-smoking sign, but in reality, smoking was uncontrolled, even around children. At the Delphin, smoking was far better regulated. Here, it felt unavoidable and very unpleasant.
Staff service was mixed. Outdoor and garden staff, as well as some in the smaller restaurants, were attentive and polite. In the main restaurant, however, many staff seemed disengaged—you often had to try hard to get their attention. There was one lady who stood out for her kindness and professionalism, but she was the exception.
Housekeeping was also inconsistent. From Monday to Wednesday, our housekeeper was excellent—professional, efficient, and very thorough. We had hoped to tip her on Thursday, but she wasn’t working, and guest relations were unhelpful when we asked about her. On Thursday, housekeeping was poor: staff avoided rooms, and when one did attend, he seemed inexperienced and uninterested, even trying to leave dirty pillowcases until told otherwise.
The Italian restaurant stood out for excellent service—the staff there truly understood hospitality and set a great example. Sadly, not all areas of the hotel matched this standard.
Overall, while there were positives, this is not a true 5-star experience. The hotel is outdated, smoking is uncontrolled, service is inconsistent, and as a family from an ethnic minority we did not feel comfortable. Compared to the Delphin, which delivered consistently high service across all departments, this hotel was...
