Where do I start with this one! Myself and my Partner have just returned from a week in what can only be described as pure luxury. We arrived late Sunday night /early Monday morning where we were sat down and checked in and then assisted with our luggage to our beautiful room by a very helpful member of the concierge team. We were wowed from the very beginning, the resort is vast and truly stunning, the decor and design throughout is stylish and modern yet also extremely tasteful and luxurious. The WhatsApp group detailing daily activities is great, thank you to Kaan & Handan for all your help x The pools (altho we preferred to sunbathe on the beach and use the sea) were large, clean and there are plenty of available beds. There are also lifeguards on hand should anyone need assistance. The pool /beach bars are amazing, you can scan the QR codes to pull up a drinks and snacks menu to be ordered and then bought to your bed by the skating waiters/waitresses, there are toilets dotted around too which is convenient (pardon the pun!). We also hired a cabana on the beach on our last day, Sebastian assisted us with this and it felt very special, we were bought food and fruit and were regularly asked if we had any other requirements/drink top ups. The Al a carte restaurants are unbelievable! I’ll start with our favourite, Zasya - this is the Asian style one. We went to this one twice during our stay, on our first and last night. A beautiful setting overlooking the dancing water fountains so if you time it right, you’ll see a lovely display. The food here is incredible, we particularly enjoyed the lemon, chicken and corriander soup followed by spiced lamb shank with yeung chow rice and chicken noodles! The waiters are very attentive as all staff at Rixos are and were making sure our Prosecco glasses were never empty. Next for us comes People’s which is the 24hour restaurant … and in being so, we didn’t expect such a high standard from this place but we were very wrong, it’s absolutely spot on. The staff are so welcoming and really do look after you during your stay. We had breakfast and or brunch/lunch here most days, Yana our regular server is such a beautiful lady, making sure that our food is good, topping up our drinks etc. Serkan and Murat are also deserving of a mention as they too have looked after us while eating here. The Italian is beautiful too and gorgeous food (it’s not just pizza) the steak restaurant Aksam was also very good, delicious food here and again at MykOrini which is a Mediterranean style restaurant which is a crossover from Mykonos/ Santorini. The setting and the Greek salad here is beautiful. Turquoise, the buffet restaurant is by far more than your standard hotel buffet! It’s huge, food stations are constantly preparing fresh items and there is so much to choose from, there’s something for everyone. The food court is similar but on a smaller scale and this is great to grab a quick bite after your pool or beach visit before you go back to your room. We had a coffee in Starbucks in French street which is a lovely setting with clothes shops, jewellers and a mini market also in here. There is also Godiva if you like your cakes and ice creams and chocolates, they look almost too good to eat! Moving on to the bars. They are all great but our favourite was the Irish sports bar which has a great selection of drinks from beers to high end spirits. We also loved it in the very relaxing lounge/piano bar. Ömer makes the most amazing espresso martinis here! We could have drank them all day long! The bar in the lobby area is also very nice and relaxing too with comfy sofas and chairs. We didn’t try the club so I can’t comment on this but we’re told by others staying that it was great. We literally have no negatives to say on this resort/ hotel, it’s absolutely incredible and are already looking to book again as soon as possible. The staff really do care about their job, their guests and the resort and it shows. We shed a tear when we left, you may do too! Thank you to everyone at Rixos...
Read moreHi,
We are just back from that magical place. Of course it's pricy, especially this year so we were expecting perfection, and we were really close to it!
WELCOME We've been followed during our 10 days by two very nice persons: Wissal and Soumaya. There were here to answer all our questions, available from early in the morning to the end of the day. Trying to get a reservation, something special for our kid, something we forgot, etc... They were trying their best. When you start your journey with such pleasant people, what could go wrong? :)
BUFFET You have two, one on ground floor which is nice to get a quick thing to eat and go back to your next activity. The second one is the main one, from breakfast to dinner, you will find what you want! The variety and the size are incredible. Everything looks and taste fresh, the sushis are excellent, meat, fish, fruits, fresh juices and so much more. I've added quite a lot of pics of it but in the morning everything changes and I did not cover it, yummy fresh made omelets for example ;)
A LA CARTE RESTAURANTS There are four in the hotel (Asian, Turkish, Italian and Greek) and 2 in Land of Legends (Turkish and fusion Mexican). You can make one reservation for a free meal per restaurant, so that's 4 in total! Don't do like us, start your journey by booking one very early cause time goes on and people are jumping on their phone at 10am so sometimes you miss the spot for having your place reserved at night. We managed to make only 3 of the four in the hotel sadly, and missing the Greek one is probably a big mistake. Italian restaurant was nice (a bit disappointed by the wine choices) Turkish restaurant was very nice (cheers to Hakan who made an incredible service for us!) Asian restaurant was very very nice (don't miss the Bao in the pictures!!!!) Mexican restaurant in land of legends was very nice, the situation is beautiful (I'll try to put pictures of it)
BAKERY (Godiva) Nice choices, we're French so we are used to this kind of treats and they were of very good quality. The pastries are a bit behind but the overall choices is very good :)
ROOM We had the first level of room and it was really ok. Only one little downside, the room was quite wet if we did not leave the window open while we were out. But it was quite hot outside so when we were back we had to use the air conditioning a lot. Cleaning was perfect, people were nice and they even made some funny things with the giant plush snake of our kid :)
POOLS They are cleaned often and the temperature was perfect. The roller services are made by really nice persons and that's quite helpful when you just wanna rest or take care of your young child while ordering drinks.
SEA The seatings are nice, service is fast, nothing bad to mention here apart that I lost my glasses in the see but that's nobody's fault but mine :) The water was warm, we even sometimes had waves so we've been lucky!
LAND OF LEGENDS The place itself is really good but I won't comment more about it here. I'll be more focusing on the shuttles. There were always ontime but the times we could use them are problematic when you have a young kid who's still doing a nap around lunch time :/ You go take the shuttles at: 10/12h30/19h/20h30 (returns are: 16h/17h45/22h/23h15) So as you can see, either you take the 12h30 shuttle and your kid can't make his nap, or you have to take the 7pm one where the theme park is closed... I guess it's done on purpose to make sure people will spend money in land of legends. I find it quite nasty and unfair to the parents who were in our situation... Apart from this, the drivers were good and everything went fine.
CINEMA It's actually really good! The place itself is not very huge but the screen is very large.
SHOWS Very high quality of shows at night for adults and nice ones for kids as well. Special mention to the clown who did incredibly well with very few, pure magic! For adults, I've been amazed by FURIOSA and also had a great time at the Mickael Jackson show! I've let some pics of...
Read moreThis hotel is exactly what I imagine a 5 star hotel to be, but considering the cost and the advertising, I expected more.
Three good large pools on the beach and one pool at the SPA complex, plus a children's area pool and pools in the territory of the suites and villas.
The daytime entertainment program schedule is only known each morning and there is also no more detailed information about the evening show (there is only the name of the show). The assistants do not know the content of the evening entertainment either and getting this information was always a long process. It would be good to know the evening entertainment schedule in advance, because sometimes you want to go somewhere else in the evening and it would be good to choose an evening when the hotel entertainment is the least interesting. On the first evening we had an unpleasant experience when we skipped the Land of Legends evening show to watch the hotel entertainment program and the promised evening entertainment show was a dance show for children with cartoon heroes and the spectacular Live Performance at the beach cafe turned out to be just an ensemble whose soloist had apparently abandoned his vocal studies at a fairly early stage. We managed to visit the evening entertainment program three times, one was very good, the second was weak and the third was a children's performance. The soundly named Live Performance at the beach cafe simply has an ensemble and on two evenings they were good, one evening more or less and one evening weak.
The territory is dominated by large, empty grass fields, there could be significantly more decorative landscaping.
Visually very stylish SPA area. Unfortunately, our days were very densely furnished and we did not have time to visit the saunas, we only did a quick tour.
Very comfortable underground parking.
The bed mattress was too soft for my preferences.
The welcome drinks and snacks table and selection were very modest to our surprise. In all other Turkish hotels we visited, it has been much more luxurious.
We were waiting for a package to be delivered by a courier company. We have ordered packages to hotels in Turkey before and have never had any problems with it, but here it became a very big problem. We informed our assistant and also the administrator separately, just in case, and they allowed us to bring the package to our room. When the package was not delivered at the promised time, we contacted the courier company and it turned out that they were not allowed to pass through the hotel gate and the gate refused to inform us of the courier's arrival. We went to ask the hotel administrator and then there was a new administrator who said that the hotel's policy is that packages are not accepted and he doesn't know why we weren't told this earlier. Finally, we came to an agreement that we would be notified when the courier comes again and that we would have to go to the gate to pick up the package ourselves. The next day, we were not notified of the courier, but the package had been delivered to our room. Later, we saw that several other guests were also delivered packages by the courier company.
Overall, a very good hotel, but from a hotel where room prices start at €1000 per night in the season, we expected more luxury and more entertainment. It seems that the majority of the cost is made up of a large selection of meals, Premium alcohol and a very high-level program for children, but since we rarely drink alcohol and eat moderately and travel without children, we paid too much compared to what we consumed. We have this problem with all all-inclusive hotels and the more expensive the hotel, the more you pay for what you don't...
