Long one .......so this being my second time at the same hotel in Turkey which is unprecedented as in over the 25 years to this beautiful country with so many happy fond memories I have never stayed at the same hotel twice.|Would I go again for a third time ?! The answer is a reluctant and sad NO .....why ? for one simple reason No beach and access to the time you can spend on the beach at the Rixos Belek sister hotel has halved to only 3 hours compared to previously in 2023 after which they expect you to pay $250.|In 2023 during my last visit you could stay from 1230 till 530pm but now by the time you get there and just settle down on your sunbed on the beach you are politely but firmly told you are close to elapsing your time and so it's more like 130 - 430pm ( 3 hours ) before you are hurried on to move BUT it does not stop me from emphatically telling my family members and friends to go to the Land of Legends because it is a childrens paradise both for young and old and for two adults like us it brings out the inner child in you and you have to pinch yourself sometimes and ask is this a dream as it is so magical 💝 we love LOL|You have to book for the Rixos Belek beach a day before but usually lots of space as 3 to 4 coaches go at 1pm from main reception and once you are there all food and drink is free make sure you go to the Godiva pattiserie amazing .The food and drink here at the Rixos really is 5 star and is what LOL should be aiming for.|Since 2023 there have been changes some positive and some negative.|The management team I have noticed take the critism of guests seriously and have implemented the positive changes.|The first being the Mungo restaurant near the turtle coaster for Lunch instead of the dark and gloomy Fast and good.|It's bigger and brighter and there is so much more fresh cooked food for everyone tastes including desserts , cakes , ice-cream etc.|Also a positive and the management team listened to the guests is that previously if you wanted lunch you would have to travel all the way from the hotel to the water park but now a mini buffet 1230-230 is available for lunch in the main restaurant in the hotel.|When I say mini it really is mini ( children's ) but adequate if you don't want to walk to Mungo.|Also they say a patisserie is available 230-5pm but this was just a extension time of the mini buffet and nothing that resembled a patisserie as such and seen at other hotels but we had cornettos and magnums ice creams as well as milkshakes at the shake bar downstairs mmmmmmm ( I could indulge as they even made me a soya milk milkshake ! )|Kingdom point stations ? what is this you ask ?|Well it's basically drink and ice-cream stations that if you are staying at the LOL hotel you can use for free for ice cream and drinks. These are located in the theme park and water park but are not clearly signposted as you would think they should be.We had to ask a few times if it was a Kingdom point station and then ask what was for free. You then show your wrist band and then scan it before giving you a drink or ice-cream.|So glad that they got rid of the soft whippy ice-cream it was cheap and tasteless and have replaced it with several ice-cream flavored options.|There is also now a ATM machine in the hotel you may need that if you want to see the doctor as it is £150 for a appointment so please have travel insurance.|New added attractions for the children and a new hotel on the grounds Nickelodeon hotel with a theme park Nickelodeon world which is very impressive but you are not allowed to use the hotel if staying at LOL and vice versa but can use the theme park.|A new water park is also being built which will be complete by 2026 and looks amazing.|Also now you can download a LOL app instead of a physical map and timetable which tells you everything that is going on day and night.|Forgot to mention room it was cleaned every day with fresh towels and fully stocked fridge with drinks it had a balcony with a nice view from the 5th floor.|It had tea coffee facilities and on our first day a fruit bowl.Shower as standard air conditioning worked well.Bath robes and slippers , toiletries as you would find at any other hotel.|Beds comfortable with spare sofa style single beds if required.|Now the negatives ....the quality of the food and drink at the LoL hotel have declined.Let me first give you a example or two. There used to be such a array of scrumptious pastries available in the morning at breakfast time but now there is a minimal selection .There used to be a magnificent array of desserts on a cart on the right side of the restaurant as you entered which is no longer there .|It looked so impressive that guests took pictures standing next to it.|The food in the restaurant is warm at best and wont stay warm for long as the plates are cold.|No hot plates.|The beach times I've already mentioned.|The drinks quality have also declined significantlty across all stations and the hotel and water park and theme park and especially in the evening outside of the Legends pub is the service is non existent waiting 20 minutes for a cocktail then missing a drink and then forgetting altogether.|We had to make a complaint to management as this happend on more than one occasion.|There is simply not enough staff in the evening with bar management just standing around idly while the regular staff do their best.|You can clearly see now if you had been in 2023 that compared to then there has been a significant shift to more inferior food and drink quality.|The shopping is expensive in the LOL mall go to Belek city taxi outside on main road of hotel £10 one way hundreds of shops and places to eat or walk to kadiere market on Tuesday but go before 3pm market as the market packs up by 3pm.|For the market come out of hotel main entrance turn left towards Migros store go past Migros and it's the 2nd right after the restaurant just ask anyone very easy to find and it's just 20 minutes walk.|Good fun and bargains to be had if you barter or even if your don't the shop keepers don't hassle you as much.|Any issues with anything try find Mr Mohammed guest relations manager at LOL very knowledgeable and helpful.|There are the usual burger king , McDonald's, Popeye's and many many more on the premises of the LOL grounds and worth trying to make a change from the usual hotel food.|Absolutely DONT bother with Nemos waited a hour even though we had pre booked and the prices are extortionate and portions tiny.Very disappointing.|Didn't need to exchange any money to lira they where more than happy to take GBP instead of euros and liras.|Nearly forgot the WiFi signal is non existent outside of the LOL Kingdom hotel no WiFi in the water park or theme park or when in the LOL shopping centre this is unacceptable in this day and age in a 5 star hotel.|There is a phone shop in the hotel grounds and wanted £45 for 20gb ( no thanks ) you could not get less than 20gb to buy.|I found that restaurant service in mornings and evenings can be hit and miss depending on where you sit but overall it's ok.|It 45minutes transfer from Antalya airport to LOL hotel in a private transfer.|Returning back to UK is a headache with long ques and multiple security checks.|The liquid rule still applies and so we are as travellers expected to pay and blackmailed and forced to pay 3 euros for water and 6 for fizzy drinks.|There seemed to have been confusion with easyJet return from Antalya about printing a boarding pass as they do not except digital boarding pass.|We where fortunate to have Mohammed kindly print one at the hotel for us but it was not required and no one at Antalya airport asked.|We went through security then to luggage desk they gave us our boarding passes we then went upstairs to more security and more security and the passport control and everything was fine.|Easy jet wasn't easy on return flight as it was 2 hours delayed but we where glad to depart.First time on easy jet having travelled with TUI mostly over last several years and before that Thomas Cook and Jet2 but Easy jet compared to everyone else for the EXACT same holiday where £400 cheaper !|The extra leg room seats don't bother they are not as extra leg room as you may think or as roomy compared to other airlines I have travelled.|Lovely staff and service though and I have no hesitation to go with them if it means saving hundreds of pounds.|Buy what you need to buy before arriving at airport ie souvenirs , food not drink won't go through security as the prices at the airport are dearer than UK airports |Final verdict I would say wholeheartedly GO enjoy Land of Legends you will have a very memorable and unforgettable time as we did.||We...
Read moreWOW!!|Where do i start with this hotel experience?? This is sooooo much more than a hotel. 😍|I had read the reviews before we booked and read them again before we arrived. However, none of this prepared me for what we experienced on our holiday.||This Hotel and theme park/water park is outstanding. We travelled with 2 boys aged 8 and 10 years old.||From the moment we arrived, we were treat like kings and queen. ALL the staff are super super friendly and not chasing tips, they literally cannot do enough for you and their manner feels genuine. In the 15 days of our visit, we did not find one member of staff that was grumpy or who didn’t want to make our experience the very best that it could be. Bar staff, restaurant staff, pool staff, theme park staff, waiters, cleaners, gust services etc etc everyone was sooooo friendly. If you look at some of my photos you will the stand out staff members for me during our stay. They were amazing and are a credit to the Land of Legends.||The hotel is insane, its huge and so much thought has gone into thinking what would kids love to have on their holiday/vacation.|All you can eat pick and mix:✅️|PS4 in your room:✅️|PS5's to play on in the foyer:✅️(8 of them)|Children's mini bar in the room:✅️|Free arcade games:✅️|Unlimited milkshakes and ice creams:✅️|And that really is just the start of it.||Nespresso on tap for the adults as well as soft drinks and alcoholic drinks, name your cocktail, beers are local, Efes or Becks.||Free daily access to the water park with countless slides, splash areas and 3 pools including a wave shock pool.(open 10am until 7pm daily)✅️||Free daily access to a theme park with the new Nickelodeon land opened in March this year.(open until 2200hrs daily)✅️||Free WiFi in the hotel, theme/waterpark and shipping avenue. ✅️||Access to any bar in the theme park or waterpark where the 'Kingdom Point' ice cream logo is displayed to get drinks and ice creams. 'ALL IN'✅️ Lunch is also served in the water park at a huge restaurant called Mungo’s. we loved going here every day, this would cost you approx £140 for a family of 4 if you weren’t ALL IN. scan your wristband and you can eat all you want with drinks served to your table. Our favourite bar for drinks in the water park was at La Plancha with the worlds friendliest bar man.||The lifeguards in the pool and the ride attendants are also so friendly and helpful. The staff are always smiling to make the experience so much more enjoyable. This also added to the overall safe feel to this place. I was happy to allow my kids to go on the lazy river on their own as there were tons of life vests to wear and the lifeguards were eyes everywhere. The slides in the water park are immense and there are soooo many to choose/use the only one we really had to queue for was the turtle coaster, this was averaging a 30 minute wait during our visit. The dolphin show was also really good and really well put together by the team. ||One of my main concerns visiting Turkey for the first time was two-fold really, 1 is it clean and 2 is it safe. Well safe to say (no pun intended) it is spotlessly clean and ultra safe at Kingdom and Land of Legends and it is like being on a different planet. It is a self-contained bubble which is surrounded by a perimeter fence with CCTV and if anyone wants to visit the HUGE shopping mall at the rear of the kingdom hotel, then they must be subjected to airport style security checkpoints with body scanners and luggage X-Ray.||The room was amazing and was more than adequate for our family of 4. I would say it is the most spacious room we have stayed in of this nature. It had all the mod cons, air con controlled room by room, a decent size balcony overlooking the theme park and the Land of Legends gates where there was a fountain show at 10am and 11pm every day. We could also watch the infamous legends river show go past every evening which is magical and enchanting. (I can still hear the music in my head now)|The shower room/bathroom was amazing, toiletries provided. The king size bed was huge and soooooo comfy. The children said the same. The black out curtains in the room were awesome. Even though our balcony looked onto the hustle and bustle, once the large patio doors were closed we couldn’t hear a thing.||The main restaurant in the Kingdom hotel is called Eternia. This place is amazing and again they have thought of everything. Cuisines from around the world with top quality produce prepared and served fresh every day. There was not the usual all inclusive repetitive feel, with new dishes every day. Even the pickiest of eaters would find something to eat. Drinks are table service at both breakfast and evening meal, both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.||There is soooooo much going off in the shopping mall every evening, I would describe it as having a feel of Disney mixed with Las Vegas. There are fountain and laser shows at either end of the mall, all set to music. The mall has every designer shop you could imagine. It also has every cuisine you can imagine from all around the world for varying budgets as well as all the international brands you will be familiar with. Starbucks, Costa coffee, M&S, Burger King, Maccy D’s, Subway to name a few. (please note these are not included in the ALL IN wristband.)|Basically, when you leave the rear of Kingdom hotel and go beyond the blue cushioned seating area, you are beyond the ALL IN hotel package. Unless of course it is in the daytime and you are heading to the theme/waterpark.||The other thing we took advantage of whilst we were there is the daily shuttle bus to the sister hotel approx 20 minutes away. This is the Rixos premium Belek hotel on the coastline. This hotel is also amazing with its own private pier and stretch of beach. Your ALL IN concept works here too for your lunch and/or drinks. There is much more range of alcoholic drinks in the hotel. The food is equally as nice, I didn’t find the staff as friendly as land of legends. I did like the Godiva café with cakes to die for. ALL IN. during our 2 weeks stay, we visited this sister hotel on 3 separate occasions.||My kids have not stopped talking about this place. what an amazing time we had.||I feel that I am going to have to keep coming back to this review and adding to it as and when I remember...
Read moreWe booked this holiday last minute and with the uncertainty of the weather at this time of year thought an all inclusive with a waterpark and theme park would be a good option for our 3 children to keep them occupied. This hotel was also the most expensive of the Rixos’ but with the added bonus of the parks we thought it was worthwhile.
Firstly the hotel itself does not have its own pool. This may not seem that much of a big deal with a waterpark on site but be warned…there’s very little all inclusive once in the park. There’s only one bar in the water park where full all inclusive drinks are available and none in the theme park and no food included at all. As a hotel guest you’d assume you’d have some privilege but no! The park is extremely big and to go back to the buffet restaurant (the only all inclusive food available) everyday with a family was just not practical. The price for food in the parks was also expensive with no discount for the hotel guest.
The hotel had limited seating options further reduced due to rules on where you can drink alcohol. Yet smoking was permitted in both outdoor areas. There was no entertainment team or program as you’d expect with a 5* hotel with just one boat show which was the same every night. One positive is the kids arcade was completely free but it was all open plan along the main corridor of the hotel which was noisy and could be heard from our room on the second floor.
prior to arriving our friends were already at the hotel and checked if irons are provided and they were told no, we also checked on arrival and were advised it was a laundry service only. We brought our own along which we have done previously and never had any issues. It’s quite long winded so I’ll spare you the full tale but we were accused of using a prohibited item in the room and causing damage. We were never told irons were prohibited and whilst at the hotel we saw them left outside other rooms for guests to use, when we provided a photo of this after them claiming they categorically do not provide them they had no response.
The damage they were accusing us of could not be proven by them but they decided to lock us out of our room at 11:30pm with 3 young children till we paid a £200 damage fee or they would call the police. We repeatedly asked for proof and they pulled out some printed black and white photographs of our room and belongings which were taken whilst we were out. They told us various people had been and inspected the ‘damage’ and all agreed we’d done it. This I feel is a huge invasion of privacy, if they wanted to do this we should have been present. The whole experience was very upsetting for us all and with 3 young children and all our belongings in the room we felt we had no choice but to pay. We are fortunate we did have some funds to pay this but are very much aware some families would not. Especially when the ‘all inclusive’ you expect does not match up and you are spending beyond your holiday budget already.
They also like to bribe guests who leave negative reviews whilst still at the hotel. Our friend left one at the start of his holiday disappointed with the hotel and all inclusive facilities. He also received a WhatsApp and phone calls from reception who identified his review from his email address. He was bribed with circus tickets. When he still hadn’t deleted the review the next day they offered more tickets and to help him remove it! Sadly he did but his opinion of the hotel was unchanged.
Many people we spoke to at this hotel had the same feeling of disappointment and confusion. In contrast we visited the Rixos premium via the shuttle busses provided. The difference is apparent the minute you walk in. Staff are friendlier, the all inclusive is as you’d expect, buffet, a la carte, snack bar, coffee shop and Starbucks all included.
If you are considering the this hotel DON’T!!! Book the Rixos premium with the theme park and water park passes included and just make day trips on the busses provided at the hotel. Book this one and you’ll be sorely...
