We had a two night stay at the Grande Arte Hotel in Eskişehir, and our first impression was that it's a unique and beautiful hotel but sadly our experience was not reflective of that.
The exterior and the large art pieces in the lobby and on the building are truly striking. There are two dining options accessible from the lobby: Lenore Cafe and Patisserie, which offers an elegant atmosphere with a magnificent dessert collection, and the Pivot Pub, where we dined twice and enjoyed drinks. The attentive staff and delicious food here were highlights of our stay.
Breakfast is served on the rooftop, which provides nice views; however, we were disappointed with the quality of the food and had concerns about food hygiene. Despite it being included in our room rate, we opted not to return for breakfast on the second day.
Unfortunately, the room itself was disappointing. The amenities were bare bones, no shampoo, conditioner, or lotion, just an unlabeled squeeze bottle in the shower that we assumed contained body wash. There was a soap dish glued to the bathroom counter, but no soap provided, and a Q-tip box also glued to the counter. The hairdryer had a taped tip on it, which was odd.
While the room was clean, the lighting was poor, especially in the bathroom. They did provide water bottles, which was a nice touch, and there were plenty of plugs available. However, the fridge didn't work, towels were thin and rough, and there were no towel racks. The air conditioner functioned well. There was a pillow menu if you preferred a different kind delivered to your room.
The hotel features a small spa on the lower level, but the cost is quite high at $150 for two hours, which includes access to the gym, pool, sauna, and steam room. We chose not to use it.
We also found it strange that the front desk staff often smoked outside, which made entering the hotel a bit awkward as we had to walk through the smoke to get around them. We were in most cases not greeted when we came back to hotel. Most the front desk staff were not very welcoming. One evening, the front desk person was outside with what seemed to be friends and didn’t even move to allow us to enter. We had to go step off the narrow sidewalk to enter though it was a person who saw us come in often.
While the location is good and the hotel has great restaurant options attached, it falls short in several areas. Sadly, we wouldn’t recommend it, but it certainly...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Grande Arte Hotel, and I must say it was a delightful experience overall. Let me break it down for you: Location: The hotel’s location is fantastic. It’s conveniently close to the city center, shopping malls, and other attractions. Whether you’re a tourist or a business traveler, you’ll appreciate the convenience.
Fitness and Spa Center: The fitness and spa center was a highlight for me. It’s well-equipped, clean, and offers a relaxing escape. After a day of exploring, unwinding here was a treat.
Friendly Staff: The hotel staff were warm and welcoming. From the reception to the restaurant, everyone was helpful and attentive. Kudos to their excellent service!
Room Odor Issue: Admittedly, one of our rooms had a slight odor issue. However, the reception promptly addressed it, and the problem was resolved. Their responsiveness was commendable.
Sumptuous Breakfast: The breakfast spread was impressive. There was a wide variety of dishes, catering to different tastes. I left the dining area satisfied and ready for the day.
Birthday Photo Dilemma: Now, here’s where we hit a minor snag. We wanted to take a photo with our birthday cake, but the hotel policy required us to purchase the cake from their pastry shop. While it makes sense, a simple photo wouldn’t have hurt, right?
Language Barrier: The only other hiccup was communication in the cafeteria area. Some staff members didn’t speak English fluently, which made ordering a bit challenging. Nonetheless, we managed with translation apps.
Overall, my stay at Grande Arte Hotel deserves a solid 5 out of 5 stars. The positives far outweighed the minor inconveniences. I’d gladly return for...
Read moreI stayed for one night at this 4 star Hotel and was travelling from Bolu. Except the rooms, everything was unsatisfactory. While booking from Obilet, hotel facilities included the Parking Facility but upon checking in, reception told me it will be a paid parking. Wifi was not working throughout my stay. I found the receptionist in the morning not a cooperative one, despite of my request to speak to the Manager twice, Manager was unreachable neither the receptionist was willing to call him/ her and was delaying the matter to the next day. When booking a 4 star hotel, all these things are important to keep note, which shows their unprofessionalism and wrong information about facilities mentioned on the websites. I have been travelling all in Turkiye as i am staying here for long, but found the attitude of this hotel administration very strange and non...
