Best stay we had in Uganda, and we were camping round the country for 21 days!

I don´t even know where to begin; everything was great.

Everything was very clean, both the shared rooms and the toilets/showers. There was warm water, a changing area that was discrete, multiple sinks with mirrors and soap.

The property is amazingly decorated: all shared areas have walls with decorative paintings, there are multiple hammocks, swings and several, very cosy sitting areas. There´s a workout area with mats, weights and an amazing view of the property.

The breakfast and dinner was delicious; we had pancakes, yoghurt with granola and the very delicious spanish omelette. There were no crumbs left. Everything is freshly picked from the garden. We had a barbecue dinner, which was very accomodating to vegetarians and again, everything was delicious. Drinks are cooled quickly, which is nice.

But most of all: the service was amazing and everybody was extremely welcoming. There were also 3 dogs, which really added to the homely stay.

I wish only good things for these...

A really warm welcome from Roscoe, Jocelyn and the team. Very tasty food and a nice selection of local coffee and goods in the shop. The gardens are really well looked after and the dinner was one of the best meals we’ve had in Uganda.

We had two issues during our stay: the first is that the whole place needs a bit of sprucing up as it feels like the owners have given up on the place a little. The resort needs some TLC (for example, the bathroom in our hut needed a refresh). That being said the main toilet/shower block was very clean.

The biggest issue is with the neighbours. There is a church just behind the resort with a preacher who begins screaming into his microphone from about 5:30am every morning until 7:30am. It is impossible to sleep through this interminable racket and the owners absolutely must do something about this. I think it must have opened recently as other reviewers don’t mention it, but it really is a lot!

We loved the setting, the staff and the food. Best to know before booking that you’re likely to be rudely awakened before...

I have traveled around Uganda, and this place has the highest customer service level among all camping and backpackers' places I have gone to! ||||I'm a vegetarian and so far this has the most amazing selection of veg food I have tried - and they're not limited to just beans and cow peas! They got lasagna, pasta, quiche and their veg wraps are truly exceptional. ||||Went this time for team building and we also enjoyed playing volleyball with the entire crew. Last time we were here in December, we had great fun at the swing bar and enjoyed cocktails and music around the campfire!||||Rooms are clean, and I enjoyed the hot shower because I did not have to wait for more than 5 minutes! ||||There is a lot of space in the campsite and Martha, the owner, plants her own herbs that the cooks put into the food, so all is super fresh! Amenities are there for people who need a gym, a big space to play sports, a nice campfire area and a bar with swings (my fave part of the place!) ||||I really couldn't recommend...

Kalitusi backpackers in Fort Portal, is an amazing place to stay. The grounds on which it is situated are spectacular, with lush green lawns and a little river running down the side! You dont even need to leave the premise to see some amazing birds! Staff are really friendly, accommodation is simple and rustic, but really comfortable and all have an amazing view from the balconies. Eat from the restaurant you wont be disappointed!

Very unique premises with lots of plants, flowers and herbs. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was probably the best I had in Uganda so far. It’s a place made with loads of love and care. At night it’s noisy because of the surrounding neighborhood. The WiFi usage is limited (but fast) and we were asked not to used it anymore after check out (which I find quite weird).

Serene and beautiful place to stay in Fort Portal. I stayed here with 2 friends in the dorm rooms which costs UGX 50,000 per night per person for bed and breakfast. The place is well maintained. It has a large clean lawn with benches to sit and relax, hammocks in the compound too. They also have lots of games to play while staying here, majorly board games and outdoor games.
