Fort Breeze? More like Fort Blows. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life, this place is an absolute joke and the staff (see cook) was so unprofessional. We had to come here to get out of the rain at around 7pm and were the only people in the restaurant (bad sign). The food was expensive but we decided to stay anyway. Also I should say that the waiter was a really nice guy. We ordered 2 cheeseburgers and 1 veggie burger. They said they didn’t have the vegetables to make the veggie burger, so our friend changed to a chicken burger. After waiting a little over an hour for the food, we received 1 chicken burger and 1 cheeseburger. Instead of waiting another hour, we chose to split the meal 3 ways. But the fun was just beginning. The cheeseburger had no meat on it. We asked the waiter why, and he said he would ask the kitchen. The kitchen sent him back and said that’s how they make it. Then we said we wanted to speak to the cook. The waiter returned and said the cook was busy making food for the hotel guests (we were still the only ones in the restaurant). We insisted again, and finally the cook came. He first said that they never put a burger on a cheeseburger. Then he reversed and said that, because one of us had ordered a veggie burger, they thought that they shouldn’t put meat on the burger (the veggie burger was exchanged for the chicken burger). A simple google search for cheeseburger will show you what it’s supposed to look like you meat heads! In the end (almost 2 hours after arriving) we said we were not paying for the bun with cheese, but would pay for the rest. The cook then said that he would take it out of the waiters pay check, even though the waiter was the only good part of our experience. A real shame that the cook was 1) not able to cook a cheeseburger 2) not man enough to admit that he clearly had no idea what a cheeseburger was. I never return food at a restaurant or complain to the staff, but this place really earned it. Would give negative stars...
Read moreThe high point of my stay here was the fast wifi. The rooms definitely look better than the pictures. The staff are a little disorganized sometimes but always friendly and polite. Beds are soft and comfortable. Bathrooms are clean.||Quality of sleep, however, was not great. For some reason, the switches to the balcony lights are in the corridor so I was awaken by someone (I assume mistakenly) switching them on and it took me ages to figure out where the switch was as there was none in the room and the front desk took over half an hour to send someone up to switch it off. By that time I had left the room and figured it out but that's a really annoying experience at 2.00am when you have to work and travel the next day. Then as I type this, at 4.00am, there's a very loud discotheque nearby that ensured I couldn't get back to sleep (it's Thursday night/Friday morning so still technically the middle of the work week)||Room service is great. I liked that having breakfast delivered to your room instead of having it in the dining room was an option (and free) although it was delivered late more often than not.||So overall, I would recommend for a leisurely stay as the rooms are clean, a decent size and the beds are comfortable. It is also close to the city center without actually being in the city. However if you're here for work, the sleep quality might be an issue but the fast wifi will definitely help you get a lot of work done if you need to. ||A gym or some kind of recreation room would also be a...
Read moreFort breeze was a delightful home to return to every night after long days hiking in the countryside visiting tree nurseries. We were greeted by a strong shower, not always hot, but the cold felt good and cooled me down after sweating all day. After cleaning up, it was down to dining hall where my box of wine awaited in the refrigerator. No fridge in room or wine for sale, but the hotel was very accommodating in allowing me to keep wine for our party in their coolers. After our happy hour, dinner made to order arrived. The kitchen cooked us whatever we wanted. It was sometimes later than we requested, but it was always good. Breakfast was also high in variety and had everything we wanted, except on weekends when we were the only guests of the hotel and breakfast was minimal.||However, the very best part of our stay was Juliet Kabarwani. She greeted us with a smile and did everything she could to make out stay pleasant and happy. She even accompanied us to the Top of the Wprld restauramt pverlooking two crater lakes 30 km from the hotel, since the Top had pitiful food. When there she took over the kitchen and under her command, the staff created a wonderful meal for us. Some Englishmen were a little annoyed since they had been long waiting for their meal and we got served first. But when we explained that we had brought our own chef, they understood.||Juliet was the high point of our stay and I surely hope she is there when...
