The hotel is quite over priced and we thought that it would be worth every penny. We have never been so wrong before!!!
A few things we noticed, but certainly not all: The hotel guest room phone wasn't working
The bathroom had only very hot water. No cold water!!! To make matter worse, the water was murky brown.
Water was leaking from the walls and we found a large puddle of water all over the floor in the morning.
The TV had only 4 channels.
Breakfast was an experience, sausages/mango juice were very cheap and not nice, I have never seen such an awful breakfast!

Read moreI stayed at the Fort Portal Fun City Hotel in May with my daughter and one year old granddaughter. We had a very pleasant visit and the gardens were beautiful. It is billed as an amusement park, but is more like a small quiet resort catering to families, with some small rides and playground equipment. The rooms were large, comfortable and clean and laid out in clusters so that multiple families can stay together. The facility is recently open and everything is new. The breakfast was excellent and included in the very modestly priced room rate (about $60). The restaurant is simple but quite functional. You can always walk over to the Mountains of the Moon hotel if you fancy something...
Read moreFort Fun is located on the foot hills of Mt. Rwenzori, in a little town of Fort Portal. Fort Portal is a tourist town with the finest weather. There is a lot to see in this place. eg. gorilla tracking in Kibale National Park, the crater lakes, the King's Palace, Mountain Climbing and it is also a gateway to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, The Kilembe Mines etc. The room I stayed in was so spacious with a nice view of Fort Portal town, with the cool breeze coming in from the surrounding gardens and from Mt. Rwenzori. Well lit, with telephone connection, hot water, beautiful beddings and decor. What I liked best was their breakfast and what I liked least, no flowers...
