After doing the gorilla trekking we went to Bunyonyi lake aiming to stay for a couple of nights. We decided to book the Kings Nest, as it is promoted as the best and most expensive 'room' of the Paradise Eco Hub hotel. This is where the nightmare begins... The room did not have a door, which I understand that is part of the 'experience', however, it was not communicated to us. Needless to say, it was full of all kind of insects and generally it looked abandoned and wear-out. Nevertheless we decided to stay there and live the experience. The next day was raining and through-out the room there was water leaking all around. The furniture became wet, including the beds. Until the rain calms down, we decided to go to the common area (restaurant). Unfortunately for us, there were construction works going on for all the days that we staid, making a lot of noise through out the whole day. They changed as to another room, the Queens Nest, which didn't had the same problems, however I believe it was still expensive for what it is. We decided to leave a day earlier. During the check out we payed the whole amount of money for every night. Sincerely, it was like a prank. I believe that the hotel has a conflict of identity. It's a low budget accommodation, that they try to sell some rooms, like the Kings Nest, as kind of luxury. Practically, we paid a tone of money for a tent... Moreover, the food was bad. They had already prepared a specific sauce, and they were putting it on top of anything that you order (pizza, pasta, rice etc.). To conclude, we had a bad and...

Positive:

beautiful surroundings

you can go canoeing or swim in lake bunyonyi from here

the staff is very cute, welcoming and trying to help

shower water was warm

Negative:

some things can be improved and some of the staff needs better training, sometimes they acted a bit awkward

the room could be cleaned better. they provide just one towel.

my room was full of spiders and spider webs, in the bathroom and bedroom. I counted more than 30 spiders in my room. maybe that’s part of their concept but don’t come her if you’re afraid of them. my friend stayed in a different room and he told me the same thing

it was rather dark in the room i stayed, i needed a flashlight

the drainage of the sink didnt work well, it took very long for the water to drain. one of the storage spaces was a bit lose and once all my stuff fell into the sink that was still full of water cos it didnt drain

when i asked for complimentary water at the reception, they told me that they don’t offer it. so i had to go and buy it myself. but on the last day i found out that they have a water dispenser with drinking water at the reception that i didnt see. i was confused why the didn’t tell...

Paradise Eco Hub is an absolute gem on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi - an experience not to be missed in Uganda. Paradise eco hub is only accessible by boat, and when we arrived, the sun was setting, and already the ride to the place was amazing. Silas and all of the staff gave us a warm welcome, and we absolutely loved our time here. Silas and the team have taken great measures to ensure that this is a model for sustainably tourism - not just environmentally, but socially. The revenue generated from Paradise Eco Hub is invested back into various sustainable initiatives like women's savings group and a local school, all contributing to growth and development of a local community. All of this, while staying at an incredible resort that makes you feel like you're on another planet. I had the pleasure of staying in one of the Geo Domes, and loved falling asleep to the sounds of nature and waking up to reflections of the sun on the lake. The experience here is incredible and I can only recommend booking a few nights here - you won't be...

Staying here was an absolute dream. The boat ride to access the island was easily arranged, the location was gorgeous, the staff were so, so kind, and the food was delicious. We stayed in a newly built geodome with a gorgeous, open view of the water at a very affordable price. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower was hot with good water pressure. Their dining space and rooms have beautiful views of the water and it's a great location for birders due to their thriving gardens and quiet location. They try to make their facilities as sustainable as possible (e.g., using solar energy, serving local foods such as crayfish from the lake, dry toilets, etc.) which is fantastic. They also have many activities with prices listed. I highly recommend staying here and would love to go back someday.

Spectacular location, a remote island of paradise with endless views and unique cottages/nests. Our nest had its own private balcony looking out onto the lake, such a beautiful outlook. Moses and Silas were excellent hosts and pride themselves on sustainability and community project driven ethos of the island. The restaurant/bar is a a first floor wooden structure with 360 views around the lake, a real feature of the resort, ideal for bird watching (keep an eye out for the crested cranes), reading and sundowners. There is also a private hotel jetty with deck chairs and diving platform. Other less interesting bits: WiFi is good, showers were hot. This resort is a little more basic than expected, but if you come with that in mind it wouldn't be a negative.
