The Bukoto Heights Apartments are serviced apartments that you can rent for short or long time periods of time. The location is not very good, off the beaten path, and away from major grocery stores or restaurants. However, you can get to some of these using a Boda in less than 10 minutes. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable, even though the furniture is a bit old. The bedroom had a television that was tiny, approximately 20” square, and so old that it had a DVD built into it. The living room has a 32” TV, but it was not a smart TV so you could not connect your gadgets to it. It also has a restaurant that is not bad. The apartments do not have a gym or pool, but they do give you access to the Kabira Country Club, about a 15-minute walk from the complex. The worst part of the apartment is the service. I booked my room using a travel website, and when I arrived, they did not have my reservation nor my room ready. I showed them the reservation, and after about 20 minutes they finally found it. Obviously, they do not check whatever partner booking system they should be checking. It took a good 30 to 40 minutes to check in, and they didn’t even offer me a complementary drink for the inconvenience. The room they gave me had not been prepared for guests either. The Wi-Fi and TV were not working, there were no hangers in the closet, and while they had an ironing board, there was no iron. I called for all these things to be fixed, and eventually they got to it. I went to the restaurant for dinner and breakfast the next morning, and the service was also subpar. Both times it took them forever to prepare my meals, and on both occasions, they messed it up the order, and I had to wait for them to get it right. The morning of my second day there, they came to clean my room and took all the towels. I told them to please bring me some towels ASAP, because I needed to shower to attend a meeting. This was about 11:30 a.m. At 12:30 I called the front desk and told them to please bring me some towels again… nothing happened. By 1:30 I called once again, but I could not afford to wait any longer, so I started to pack my things and prepare to leave. By 2:00 p.m. I had to go to my meeting, but I also checked out because they were so inconsiderate of the customers’ needs that they were forcing me to go to a meeting without a shower. I do not recommend staying at this place, there are far better options all over Kampala.

Bukoto Heights is a residential complex. They have family rooms like 3 bedroom unit with furnished kitchen. Their rooms are decent sized and living area is also big. Flooring, furnishing wardrobes etc are fine. There are many downside however like They don't have anything for recreation, no gym, no pool, no park or green belt. It's location is also not great and views outside of the room doesn't excite you either. They have a small cafe and bar near to reception but with very limited menu. People staying here can however go to Kabira and use all the facilities there for free but getting a taxi here will also be problematic

Pricey, but very good service. The hotel rooms are very large, include a kitchen with an oven, stove, fridge and toaster, a dining table, living room furniture, tv, a/c in the bedrooms and a good bathroom with a hot water shower. Daily housekeeping is included. Getting laundry done by the hotel is very expensive, however, so be prepared to wash your own clothes in the sink. The wifi tends to drop out at night. The staff is the very best in Kampala.

Five night stay while I was speaking at a conference nearby. Delighted with the apartment. It was very spacious and beautifully appointed with comfortable sofas and chairs. Plenty of wardrobe space and multiple plugs. Best shower I have experienced anywhere – plenty of hot water and great water pressure. Wi-Fi was excellent. Two bottles of water were replenished each day. I would have liked the teabags to be replenished as well though. Good choice of food available at the restaurant. Everywhere was kept very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful and at reception they knew my room number without being told. If I have another conference in the area, this is definitely where...
